'If rain is what you want, then take your seats, enjoy the fall.' Is an incredible line. It ties in 'when it rains, it pours', with people who like to watch someone fall (from grave/ from success, from happiness, etc.) for their own entertainment.
Also, you weren't expecting angry corey, but what happens after it rains? It pours.
This one has to be my favourite off The Gray Chapter. It's very atmospheric, and this song specifically got me through a rough patch a few years ago. I also like all the samples from the beginning, love it when Pinhead gets to do the intros

I just saw a video the other day. A dad had his kid on his shoulders at a Slipknot show in the middle of the pit. A wall of Maggots surrounded the dad so that he was protected from the pit. The kid looked like he was having a blast. What a fandom!

Man... I'm glad this won. Yet again, you've made me appreciate a song more than I did before. I'm not sure why that is, but yeah, it's much better than I remember. I need to give this one a few more listens.
When I first got into Slipknot back in 2019 all I want is HEAVY HEAVY MUSIC. I'd skip this alot till one day this song just calmed me down and love the lyrics....of course lol
I love this song and your reaction was great as always. The Burden is one of those bonus tracks that really should've been on The Gray Chapter like Scream on Vol. 3 being a far better song than Welcome. The Burden is much better than a number of songs on this album like Lech and I am interested for your perspective on it.

...Easter ham😂 I really like this. I love the lyrics. I really love that heavy, bendy guitar(?) that starts at about 2:35 and of course the drums and alien/robot. I love that bendy sound! I don't know what that's called, but I love it! I think this is my favorite, of theirs, so far.

So the "Speak and Spell" parts are supposedly taken from a spiritbox session to connect with Paul. I have no idea if that's true, but some people say that you can hear "not now, Corey." Anyway, this is one of the best Slipknot songs, IMO....
Criminally underrated song, (the whole album really) but the majority of the fan base deems this album “too soft” I just have always disagreed on that point. Also I think this being the first album post Paul and Joey works against it.

The Burden should've been on the album. It's much better than Lech to me. It would've made the album better, but I still really like the album.
@@thefilmeffect6089 Agreed. Lech is one of those songs from the album that just can't manage to excite me. The Burden on the other hand is great, and it's also the song that sounds the closest to Iowa from this era. The density is very close.
When it comes to bonus tracks (or tracks that didn't originally make it into any release), there is always at least one from each album that's outstanding. Get This, Eeyore, Scream, Til We Die, The Burden. These are all great to me.
