My PCP says that my loss is probably due to having a high fever which caused part of my brain to be damaged. Has anyone else been told the same by their doctor?
I accidently chemical burnt my already damaged lungs while cleaning because I didn't realize the bleach in the cleaner I was using was so strong in the air until my daughter came home and freaked out about it. By then it was too late. I will never be able to run again. I simply do not have the lung capacity regardless of how badly I want to. My body will not heal or compensate for it. I feel like I aged 20 years overnight. 😢
A lot of foods I have the memory of what it tastes like, so I still enjoy eating it. Some foods however, the texture is just awful without being able to enjoy the taste of it.
Like bacon. I loved bacon! I cannot eat "limp" bacon anymore. The greasy fatty texture is just a nasty feeling in my mouth without the flavor that made it so wonderful before.
I can still smell and taste citrus (which sadly I actually never much cared for before having Covid) and a few odd things, but some don't smell the same as I remember. Like Gain laundry soap. I can smell it, but it isn't the great smelling stuff that I remember it being. I don't like the smell of it anymore.
I don't really like potato chips anymore either.
You wouldn't believe how many things contain citric acid! LOL
Just for fun, go to the store and buy some ALUM powder and try it.
I eat warhead candies as a snack while I listen to scary stories now.

@@mommakat900 that's rough, sorry to hear about the damage to your lungs as well, I have different medical problems but the same result as far as the exercise goes, 2 years ago I had 6pack and and litteraly ran barrs trail up pikes peak, now I'm 40lbs heavier and sadly it's not muscle (but I'm working on it for what I can). I hate losing my taste/smell, for exactly this reason. Told my partner, I'm terrified of eating something bad, and making myself Really Sick. He doesn't have much of a sense of smell, either, so he can't pick up that slack.
