Same. He's a good chap. Learned Everything here. Nice to forget life's problems and listen to Craig. Hope you and fam is all well Sir. God bless and keep the music up too❤
I really miss drinking beers and watching Craigs homebrew videos. There's no-one else like him. It's a real shame we don't get them anymore. Might be time to go back and rewatch them all.
I literally was thinking the same thing . Just brew it again so we can just have a brew and listen to him talk . I don’t think he realizes how much we actually care!
Craig you are by far the most honest, sincere, kind, you tube brewer after all these years. You brew to keep the pipeline filled. But people watch for your personality and honesty. Like a greeting from an old friend, thank you, God Bless! Cheers!
I been watching you since the beginning! There is something about your videos that brings me comfort. Stop being so self conscious about making repetitive videos, It doesn’t matter to us. This is not just a brewing beer channel for me, it’s a lot more than that. Love your cooking videos, camping videos, walk videos, just shooting the shit videos, and beer review videos. Please don’t stop making videos on this channel. Your were meant for this, keep it going 🙏
Thank you Craig! I live in Estonia. I started home brewing 12 years ago. Thanks to your videos, I continued to improve myself and became who I am today. Today, I have a small brewery at home and many friends who love my home brew- craft beer. And all this thanks to you and your home brewing videos. Many thanks to you Craig and all the Best for the future!
For every time you use the same yeast (I assume you just dump new beer over to the bucket?) there will be more yeast. This is good cause one packet is usually not enough to get the flavours that the yeast is supposed to give. However it will also result in faster fermentation, and it can result in more foaming, so this is not a bad thing actually. BUT the temperature inside the bucket get higher if there is more activity, so that needs to be watched. you have to lower the temp to maintain the correct temp. The will reduce the foaming again. So if you've made a couple of batches then suddenly add a stronger beer with more sugar you will naturally get even more foaming if the values are on the yeast's side. still not a bad thing but more temperature and more likely to completely blow the lid off the bucket. And after doing this a while you will eventually have a lot of good yeast mixed with old dead yeast, and at some point, some wild yeast might get in there. To make this entire operation much more practical, you should just take some samples after the first batch. a spoon is enough and put it in small containers. This way you can have for instance say 5 containers which is basically the second generation. you can use one and run it 5 - 10 times, then start on the second container. see where this is going? you are constantly using second gen, U could maybe even make more containers from third and fourth batches and just keep going. Personally I am really picky about having too little yeast. I can easily taste if that happens to cause the beer to have a stronger alcoholic flavour in the beginning, but will go away in a month maybe. so can you wait? hehe Anyway, I just buy a packet and make a BIG starter from that. The I put some in small containers after draining off most of the wort, and leave enough for the batch it was intended for. And if I want I can just make more by dumping in a new batch like you do with no risk involved and get pretty much the same beer. But I never mix beertypes this way, cause that will make a difference depending on how much is left over from the recent batch. Anyway, this is the most efficient and clean way of doing it. you have many more containers of the same gen where you can make a starter and do the same process over. Is works, yes, but not as much as washing yeast which is a lot more prone to infection. There are so many ways of doing it that it does not matter actually, but this is my preferred method, and it works and is the least amount of work for me.
I've been watching your videos for 10 + years. It's always a comfort to see them. I really don't care what the topic is , but you always find a way to make it interesting. Thanks.
Yes Craig!! I started home brewing in 2015 all because of your videos (and also being a tight ass wanting to make my own beer!!) so good to see you back and can’t wait for more recommendations, tips and info! Best wishes from the UK!
I started watching your videos back in 2010 or before I quite don't remember. But you were my mentor for a long time. You are a great teacher and good human bean. Blessing for you! I can get a hold of the cooper's beers can down here in Florida. I wish I could get my hands in some can back again.
Warms my heart to see you back and watch your good natured, happy talks. You’re a genuine nice guy, truly special to watch. Hope you’re well, all my best
Been missing you Sweetie. I don't know anything about that thing you say you do on Fridays. I can watch RUclips on my TV. Keeping it simple these days. Hugs. Totally agree about doing simple kits and reusing yeast. I'll be 70 in a couple of months -- my days of all the lifting & cleaning, etc. that all-grain beers take is way in my rearview mirror now, lol. Take care my friend. Again, hugs.
Hey Craig! Glad to see you putting out youtube videos again! When you reuse a yeast cake you end up with more than 10x the yeast than if you were starting fresh which is why those brews will ferment like crazy and may smell sulphury. Although that's perfect if you want to use two cans in one batch and make a barleywine or an imperial stout :)
Yeah, when I'm reusing a yeast cake I split it into two smallish jars - each one provides more than enough for another 5 gallon batch. (I actually saw a RUclips video once where splitting into three was recommended as being okay.) Not sure how far you could stretch this generation-wise, but I did it up to third generation with good, consistent results.
Nice to hear your voice again Craig. Always enjoy your video's. I started brewewing with your easy way videos possibly the better part of a couple of decade's ago and attribute all the enjoyment I've had from my brewing since to you. I understand it may feel a bit 'samey' to you making the brewing videos however I always enjoy them. Perhaps when you get kits you haven't tried before or other method ingredients in you could consider making long form video's where you start with a kit you have not tried before, take us through the brew and finish with a tasting and chat. The review of the new kit along with the process we all enjoy combined with a bit of a catch up would be appreciated.
Hi Craig. Good to see you are still making videos. When I started homebrewing 6/7 years ago your videos were a great help to me. I went straight into kegging thanks to you showing me how it's done and have never looked back. Thank you mate, you are awesome. With regards to Muntons kits, their Nut Brown Ale is my 'go to' brew. It's bomb proof and always comes out tasting fantastic. They also do a very good IPA which is great to use as a base for adjuncts. I like to dry hop using Citra hops. Looking forward to your next upload. Cheers from the UK.
It's not all about what you have showed us in the past, It's about you spending time with us. You are important to us Craig. Do we know you personally, do we know how you live your life or your family,,,,,NO. But we do enjoy you, spending time with us sharing your time. Keep us in your circle buddy. Be Safe Ya"ll!!!!!!!!!
@13:46 - I knew that was a Maytag set. Mine look beat to shit, but I wouldn't trade them for any of the newer garbage on the market right now. I paid 25 dollars a piece for the washer and dryer about 11 years ago. They served a family of 6 before we got them.
@1:22 - That looks like about a 33 year old Maytag dryer off to screen left. I know because I am looking at one right now. It's still in operating condition. I have a couple of videos on my channel about replacing the idler wheels in the back.
I agree with the others, for some reason I just love watching you make beer every time I see one. Heck, I’ve seen most of them several times, I like them every time. I also owe you a big thank you as you had me thinking that LME and fresh specialty grains might just make a good beer. I’m mostly an all grain brewer as I had bad experiences with HME and in so doing didn’t give extract a thought for the last ten years. But recently, my brother wanted some beer and wanted to help so we made a beer with LME and specialty grains and to my surprise it turned out to be the best beer I’ve ever made. I liked it so well that I’ve made another 15 gallons. Thanks for opening my eyes too what extracts can bring to the table, or rather the glass.
Great to see you back Craig. I haven't done extract for years but still love watching your videos. You could also look into overbuilding starters and storing the excess for other beers.
Hey Craig! I found your channel when I was about to brew my first beer (2015/16-ish). I found the coopers kits and figured I would do that. But brewing was scary to me as I knew NOTHING. I watched a bunch of your videos (pretty much all of them) and you gave me the confidence to give it a go. And boy has it been a heck of a ride… I’ve long since moved on from coopers kits (no hate for them, they’ll always have a place in my heart) but I’ve invested a lot into the craft which is one of my biggest passions now. I became the president of a home brew club, and am now working towards going pro. So, you keep doing you. We need people like you doing what you do. There’s something for everyone, in every space. So, thank you. You are showing people it’s okay to believe in yourself and just give it a shot, what do you have to lose?
Nice to see you again Craig. Interesting observation regarding the packets of yeast, it shouldn't really matter if the sachets are vacuum packed or not, providing they are dry, oxygen doesn't affect dried yeast until it becomes wet. Dried yeast will only last so long before dying, it's a bit like it's in suspended animation and only if it gets damp will it die quickly if it has no sugar to eat. Over enthusiastic yeast can be a case of adding too much yeast to a highly oxygenated wort or too strong a wort or a bit of both or even too high a temperature. The Cooper's kits are surprisingly good, I suspect that they add non fermentable sugars (or control the mash temperature better) but a lot of the Munton's kits are also good. Stay safe and well, SIR, cheers, Schnuz.
Glad to see you Craig. Have got to watch some of your vaughn live shows here in Australia on our Saturday afternoons but sometimes hard to catch. Thanks for your post and all the best to you. Doesn't matter what you do on here to me as you were the first Beer Brewing guy I watched and I still enjoy watching all you do. 🙂
Hi Craig you taught me how to brew, thankyou👏. Just wash your yeast and pitch right amount and it won’t go funky or explosive and will last for ages in fridge.
Great to see you back! Please keep making videos. Don't worry about teaching anything, I just live watching you brew and listening to your chat. Keep 'em coming!
I made my first honey beer in 2013 because of your channel. Glad to see you're back. Got 3 kits in my cupboard... outta date... haven't done a kit in 10 months.
Nice to see your ok. I have learned so much over the years from your channel, and I cannot thank you enough. But your destiny is up to you. Would I like you to do a brew day with a kit ?? Maybe for the last time. HELL YES !! 😂
I think if the beer tastes good, the yeast is happy. Some English breweries have been repitching the same yeast for hundreds of years. The extra krausen is due to the highly active and happy yeast. If cleanup is an issue, I rarely need to scrub anything. I fill my fermentersnto the tippy top with hot water and add PBW or OxyClean Free and soak overnight. Works great.
You need to look into a fermzilla all rounder and upgrade it into a pressure fermenter. You can ferment the beer under pressure and do a closed transfer into the keg, and just leave the yeast in the fermenter for multiple runs. It keeps the yeast healthy and you don't need to worry about moving the yeast into a jar for later. It's an excellent way to keep your yeast for multiple batches without messing with it
Nice to see you back Craig it doesn’t matter how many times you have done a brew, it’s your personality that we want to see as you do great content. Keep it going as we all have missed you 👍
I can’t tell you how excited I am to see you back Craig!!!
That’s exactly what I said when I saw the thumbnail!
me too!

I really miss drinking beers and watching Craigs homebrew videos. There's no-one else like him. It's a real shame we don't get them anymore. Might be time to go back and rewatch them all.
We don’t care how many Coopers kits you’ve brewed, we’ll watch every video you post!
I literally was thinking the same thing . Just brew it again so we can just have a brew and listen to him talk . I don’t think he realizes how much we actually care!
Happy to see you back! Do another brew day! Who cares if we know or done it before 😂

Here here. Same boat, been watching since the start and I agree...it's gone beyond brewing. It's about you being you Craig!
Agreed
I could listen to Craig talk about anything for hours. Thanks for getting me into brewing way back when!
havent commented in your videos much but I have watched and learned a lots about brewing from you THANKYOU so much
So glad to see you old friend, you could just do a fire side chat and everybody would be glad to watch. Cheers, 17.

Awesome to see you mate
Yeast is probably grown in cell count which will ferment faster and more vigourous just use half the trub you would usually use and it'll be fine
I'm glad you checked in with us Craig... keep on brewing what you enjoy...
Do my eyes deceive me. Craig has finally put up a new clip. Awesome
Wow, Craig! Great to see and hear from you again!! Always love watching you talk, ramble, pontificate, etc. Good to see you back again.

Some of the muntons kits are absolutely lovely. Great to see a update from you brilliant cheers from over the pond 👍🍻

I never knew that.
Agree, it’s got to be the huge quantity of yeast making it go crazy fast fermentation out the top of the fermenter, surely?
Reused Kveik for more than a year. Didnt have any foaming problems. High pitch temperature keeps it from contaminating with wild yeasts. Maybe
Yeah, when I'm reusing a yeast cake I split it into two smallish jars - each one provides more than enough for another 5 gallon batch. @@alexgibb5451 dry yeast comes with "full bellies". Reused yeast is hungry and probably needs nutrients added to be happy.
Good to see you Craig! I learned quite a bit about brewing from you over the years.
You are welcome back 👍
Thanks Craig. 😊 Missed these videos.

Welcome back! In a crazy world, it's kind of nice to feel somewhat normal again seeing your post
I share your attitude when it comes to homebrewing. I brew my way for me and I don't need anyone telling me it's inferior or wrong. Cheers 😀 👍 🍻
Thanks for doing what you do! 🍻
Doesn't get old here. Thanks for all the videos.
I’d love to see you brew your kits! Cheers!
I love you dude! Started brewing along with you in 2009. You inspired me more than anyone else. Made me stop over thinking it
i loved making the coopers dark ale/i put extra dark malt in it and cocco powder and a bit of coffie was awsome,,

We miss u
That’s it, I’ve watch all your brewing videos, I feel empty. Greetings from Finland, you are the reason I started brewing, so Thank you!
I had a can that was around 20 years out of date, and it was excellent.
Great to see you again! 🤠
10yrs ago you got me into homebrew 🍻
@13:46 - I knew that was a Maytag set. Mine look beat to shit, but I wouldn't trade them for any of the newer garbage on the market right now. I paid 25 dollars a piece for the washer and dryer about 11 years ago. They served a family of 6 before we got them.
THANKS CRAIG.. NICE TO SEE YOU
Great to see you back! You don't look any older!
Make more! Please..I followed you for years from wine and beer! :) Welcome back,,, Lots of new brewers need your knowledge and help! lol
Great to see you again!
Glad to see you back🎉
Great to see you back Craig. I haven't done extract for years but still love watching your videos. You could also look into overbuilding starters and storing the excess for other beers.
Welcome back Craig!! 17!!
Welcome back Craig. Hope you are keeping well mate.
Miss you Craig! Hope you and your family are well.
Awesome to see you back!!! :D
Good to see you back 🎉
Glad your back!🍻
welcome back, been following you for a long time, glad to see your alive. hope all is well
Us Aussies will send you all the kits you need!!!!

So, thank you. You are showing people it’s okay to believe in yourself and just give it a shot, what do you have to lose?
Damn glad to see you. Thanks for the video
So good to see you back!
If it's not giving off flavours I would stick with it but only use a couple of table spoons of the yeast cake to prevent it from going off like the clappers. The Cooper's kits are surprisingly good, I suspect that they add non fermentable sugars (or control the mash temperature better) but a lot of the Munton's kits are also good. Keep posting anything, it's just good to see you, although keeping it to around 10 minutes means I can watch it in one go 😉🤣. Cheers everybody, take care and 17, 🤭oops no that's your tag line 😉🤣. Much appreciate all your vids...past, present and future!
Hey brother, been a huge fan since 2006! Glad to see you're still kicking! Thanks for saying hi to us!
Welcome back Caig!!! Cheers
Hi Craig so great to see your video bro...used to watch you brewing vids as q home brewer myself.
Glad to see you're back.
Been watching for years. It's a pleasant suprise when we get to see a video. Glad your well. Until the next time!
Love your videos!
Not watched it yet but glad your back.
Just watching.

Just wash your yeast and pitch right amount and it won’t go funky or explosive and will last for ages in fridge.
Great to see you back go on do more brewing days we love to see you.
Kev 🇬🇧👍👍
Great to see you back! Please keep making videos. Don't worry about teaching anything, I just live watching you brew and listening to your chat. Keep 'em coming!
I made my first honey beer in 2013 because of your channel. Glad to see you're back.
