- Here are all the Samsung Galaxy S series boot animations from the S1 up to the S20. Please note that S7 and above do not have a startup sound, and the startup sounds are variations of the Samsung 'Over The Horizon' soundtrack.

Update: Turns out the S2 animation is actually almost identical to that of the S1. The startup sound is correct though. Apologies for the editing mistake!

@@talentlesszephyr_yt it's a custom ROM and I can put a custom bootlogo on it instead of the stock one. But I switched back to stock android since it runs a bit better

Funny thing is that I was even in doubt between the S4 and S3, because when I had a Duo version, the startup was not the same as in the video, only the logo and some stars appeared on the screen.
you mean the S5 one? You may be using updated firmware.
The S Duos and The S3 indeed have different startup sounds, but the same boot animation as the S4. The reason why the S3 startup may look "unstable" in the video may be an editing error.

Coming from an Apple fanboy, I like the first one the most (despite the horrible frame rate) and I think the second most would be the last (idk why but just the simple logo kinda has a charm to it)
compared to the S5.. miles upon miles better. It has so much more character and personality compared to the rest..same as the s1
Kinda hated the s4 IMO but maybe that's because I had the shitty T-Mobile variant and a bad battery.
I wish these were still a thing. I love the S4 one!

It had the best boot animation, but the S4 had the best boot sound

Yeah but the first smartphone I (and my family since everyone only had keypad phones) had is the unknown brand with customized bootscreen that my father bought running Android Froyo and the first Samsung phone was Galaxy Y Neo running Android Jellybean

S2, S3 and S4 is nostalgia, my first device was samsung galaxy tab2 with S2 startup sound and first touch phone was samsung galaxy S3, this sounds makes me remember best and favorite memories from my past when i had this devices, what a pity that the past can`t be returned...

For people wondering why things seem more basic now - it's not actually due to less creativity - it's about boot times.

You don't.
It's the same with most technology for the same reason.
Unless you buy the s25 ultra plus plus plus, which costs an arm and a leg, it's gonna stay on the boot screen for minutes

It’s literally the same as Apple’s boot up screen, except they slap their name on it.
Boot animations were originally made to mask up the boot sequence, but as our smartphones gets faster and faster to boot, its better to have just the logo.
Makes sense but kinda sad really. I'd much prefer a slower startup with a beautifully designed animation than to just see a plain logo.

The S5 and S6 are my favorites for creativity. I do find it sad that they'd decided to give it up after the S6. If they continued doing creative startups, I would've stayed with them instead of switching over to OnePlus.
EDIT: While I'm aware that I have some others joking, I'll let you know that there're other reasons why I switched. The one that should be known is that I don't like the route that Samsung is taking with their phones.
I think on later versions of the S6 too there are no sounds and it uses the s7 animation

complex and longer boot animations cause issues with bootloaders and slow down boot times, in this case it's actually incredibly beneficial and you only see this screen for a couple seconds anyway lmao.

Plus, only sloppy programming would cause bootloop with the flashy introduction.
I don't see a single reason (other than Samsung following the trend of making their brand image bland and soullessly corporate) why a plain text boot-up is any different in terms of technicality compared to animated boot screens.

it also reminds me of how he would sometimes mention the fact that his phones battery was kinda faulty, it would shut down at like 35% and i would remember that my tablet used to do that too
actually s8-s9 had an animation, s10 stopped the animation thingy.
I think they removed it when s8 upgrade to later version of android 9 and s9 to android 10 because my old s8 was with static samsung logo like my s10e

What a nostalgic screen! I love how the older model boot screen especially the S4... the rythm of the boot sound combine with the smooth Samsung oval logo movement... it was really amaizing... but when I looked on these day model of Samsung S, I was kind of disappointed with the result. I think Samsung should bring back the old boot screen.
using a video for booting causes problems in the android bootloader so I can see why they just made it an image, also made boot times faster

I want to see the non-S editions of the early Galaxy startups. I know the Ace had something that looked similar to the S3 except it was a solid line that formed the old Samsung logo shape.
The Ace also had the S2 sound ( I have 2, one has a custom Tom, the other luckily not)

Strangely enough my S5 uses the Galaxy S7 boot animation (the one shown at 1:09). I didnt modify the firmware in any way, maybe its something to do with a software update changing the bootscreen?

Man, the S4 and S5 startup is really nostalgic for me. My first smartphone was a S4 and it had the S4 startup then in a later update it had the S5 startup.

Samsung s2 is actually my first phone, and the boot are just bring back so many memories when i always play fanmade minecraft game
I miss the animations of the 7, the blue ripple you would get when charging the phone was cool and so satisfying to see, and the way the Samsung logo was drawn in on the loading animation
