11ty | Eleventy - A Simple Static Site Generator - Introduction
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 19 окт 2024
- Eleventy is a simple static site generator based on JavaScript. The great thing about Eleventy is that it is zero-config by default but can also be run with configurations options which makes it flexible and extremely easy to use at the same time.
In this tutorial you'll get started with Eleventy / 11ty and you'll learn how to setup a first project and work with templates.
This is a CodingTheSmartWay.com tutorial.

I haven't finished the video yet, but I just wanted to stop sand say that you're an excellent teacher. The way you take the time to explain everything, while it may be pedantic to some, is well thought out and well explained. This is the perfect video not only for someone hopping into 11ty, but into web development. (But especially 11ty)
Thank you for the simple introduction to 11ty! I was getting no content to display and couldn't figure it out. I followed everything precisely. I finally went to the docs and looked it up and realized that {{ content and safe }} was separated by a pipe "|" not a slash "/"... (see around 17:40). Once I realized you had types a | and not a /, it all made sense and worked just fine! :) Thank you!
Thanks for the simple intro to 11ty! I'd love to see a follow up video with examples for configuring 11ty, and also for how to style sites.
Great video, really clear. I have a question though... how do you stop it from creating subfolders in _site?
You should try using emmet abbreviations.
Does it require to run the eleventy command everytime I am creating new project?
Thanks for this :)
Thanks a good intro to another JAM stack-er. I am curious to when I search around 11ty that I am seeing a lot of CMS related searches. static sites are far removed on purpose to the bloat of wordpress of course so will find out in due course if this is abuse of the CMS acronym.
Can you add COMMENTS functionality (such as Disqus, etc.)? Thanks!
sure
This video is a great Eleventy primer. I like how you explained why you would use a static site generator in general, and what is unique about Eleventy compared to other options.
I am going to give my opinions as a viewer on your video because I think you could make it even better. I'm just going to directly state what I think is wrong with your video, but know that I'm taking the time to communicate because I think it's generally well done.
Your video is too long. You are too verbose at times, repeat yourself, and show too many tedious tasks.
Minutes 3-5 are simply initializing the repository. I realize the information you provide is valuable for someone completely fresh, but you could break this out into it's micro video and link it if you want to go over this information (and then you would never have to repeat yourself in other videos).
When you open the Eleventy documentation you pretty much just say the same thing you lead with at the beginning, such as there being lots of templating options.
Minutes 14-16 minutes you type in a bunch of generic html. Have it on hand and paste it in since you're narrating live. Or fast forward. If you weren't narrating live you could have just edited it out. Just show us the part where you include the front matter.
I guess a lot like programming, hide the details down at a lower level and don't repeat yourself. Thanks for the nice video and I hope you take my criticism in good faith.
Are you german?
Please change your music introduction, it is kind of depressing / ominous. Put something with more happy tone.
What a disappointment. I thought this was a next level tool. The process of manually creating templates and content inside files feels like what we did 20 years ago
why do these cringe websites have to virtue signal with blm nonsense? For some reason express has the same bull.
