    I was and still kind of obsessed with Mags.
    Raising them was a huge part of my experience and I still adore it.

      For me I loved raising my first couple of MAGS but after a few it started to become a bit of a chore whenever I made a new character, so nowadays I tend to trade for them instead! No doubt that it's a core part of PSO though!

    Love it. Mags are my personal guilty pleasure for this game. I love building them and making new ones. I am almost always feeding 4 at a time.

      I find with Mags that you either love or hate leveling them. For me, I used to play with someone who would mass-raise mags for the team and in return we'd hunt rares for them. Probably need to re-do my Sato at some point to get closer to max stats...

      @@SectionSkyly I personally like to have 5 Def, 145 Mind/Pow l, and 50 Dex. Like you said, Dex gives 1 point for every 2 points on the mag. So I try to keep it even. Your options are 45 or 50 depending on the formula on the rare mag you are aiming for. The extra 5 in Dex goes farther than 5 in Mind/Pow.

    Man I just stumbled here after thinking about my childhood and how this was my first proper console online experience. Back then you just had to work it out and tbh I spent no time researching I just played the game whenever I had free time. I've learnt a lot from this 😂 it's fair to say. This video was both a nostalgia overload and trip down memory lane.

      @@SectionSkyly I agree. Honestly I drew the line at pso2 as NGS just went so far away from what PS means to me as a player. Perhaps that is nostalgia talking. PSO just has a way of feeling like home. I do also enjoy PSU from time to time.

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  11 месяцев назад

      I get what you mean, NGS is a very different kind of game. I enjoy it enough but PSO is the game I've spent the most time in by far. NGS is catered more towards an MMO-like experience without actually being an MMO. It does seem to be a common thing that PSO players don't gel with NGS!

    Just finished making a chao mag while I was afk at work. Word of advice, dont do it. It was a pain in the butt having to juggle feed it to get the exact stats you need to get it to 36/36/36/36. Bless the guy that wrote the guide on PSO world a decade a go. 😅

      Yeah, that's the big downside of the Chao mag! Not sure why Sega thought that was a good idea 😂

    Thanks for this guide! I'm an old PSO player (used to sink in hundred of hours on the GameCube version!) and because i'm back in the game, this is fantastic for me!
    Quick question: I see on multiple guides that for a Fonewearl, mags should have DEX and MIND raised. But I don't understand why raising DEX is important as I will never use weapons to hit mobs. I wanted to do MIND = 50, POW = 0, DEF = 40, DEX = 10 for the lvl 100 evolution. Is that a good plan or should I indeed prioritize DEX over DEF? Thanks for the help!

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  Год назад +4

      Glad you found it useful, good to see some old PSO players getting back in!
      In regards to the FOnewearl mag, there's 2 main reasons Dex is preferred over Def. Firstly, Def really doesn't help that much in Ultimate (a lot of your DFP will come from defensive gear and high level Deband. Combined with high level Jellen on enemies to reduce damage this mitigates the need for DFP on mag, particularly on a Force).
      The other reason is that even FOnewearl can get some use out of melee, for example using a Double Saber with Hit% for the special attack can be a good way of replenishing TP. You'd never use it for damage, but getting free TP back can be useful and the Dex helps you land those hits.
      If you don't plan on using a melee weapon at all, a higher Mind mag would be better, but then you might miss out on the stats to get a rare mag.
      Ultimately DEF or DEX will work, but generally DEX is seen as a more useful stat. Just remember to keep it at a multiple of 2 so you dont waste a level.

    Playing PSO EPISODE 1&2, just recieved a Heart of Chao. And i can't figure out how to work the mag charts to start growing my mag to make it eventually become a Chao. Could you post a video or comment any tips on how to exactly work the stats?? Thanks

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  8 месяцев назад +2

      From what I remember, I think the mag has to have at least 35 in every stat (unfortunately, including defense).
      As for what you need to feed it, that will depend on what Mag it is now. Power, dex and mind are generally pretty easy to level, but defense can be a little awkward as lots of defense-raising items will also raise other stats.
      As you need 35+ in every stat, you won't be able to use the Heart of Chao until a minimum of mag level 140.

    A weird question, but if i had a seperate mag that is 5 def and 195 mind, could i equip that mag on my hunter to learn higher level mind requirement techniques? And once i learn them, is it just TP Cost to use it or do i need the mind as well to cast it? Thanks so much for the info!

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, you can equip the mag on your hunter, use it to learn techs that require higher MST and then switch back. You just need the TP cost to cast, but bear in mind that higher level techs will cost more TP so you might go through your TP faster. But yes, you can use it to learn high mst requirement techs!

      People who started with PSO2 and want to check out the older games. Also applies to returning players who might want a refresher on some of the mechanics in PSO. Same as any other retro game really!

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  8 месяцев назад +2

      On Ephinea's wiki page there's mag charts for each individual mag (as the feed charts differ depending on which mag you have). The mag charts should show up what stats each item will raise or lower.

      Yup, it’s me! Had no idea there were pso servers up.
      Been in an emulation and retro mode, seen random vid.. was like dang sounds fun. Only ever played couch co op NGC pso to like level 60.
      Been casually grinding here and there, watching a few creators. Hit 40 having a good time. Can see dabbling here and there for awhile. Pretty cool to play again and learn the “real game” with a community.
      There’s just something awesome about PSO, though I doubt I’d enjoy it if there wasn’t some familiarity already.

    im confused with the dex + power = mind stuff. ive got 43 dex and 44 power right now but im not sure how to make them even when i hit level 100

    • @SectionSkyly
      @SectionSkyly  7 месяцев назад

      Is it dex+pow=def+mind? If you're trying to make those even and you already have 40+ in both dex+pow, then you're gonna have to level mind or def a lot to balance it. You can still get the lv100 evolutions at higher levels, up until you hit lv200.
      Definitely double check the formula for your mag though to make sure you're leveling the right stat balance.
