Regarding the DQ, dont you agree that it is unsportsmanslike for the umpire to wear Leander color tie while umpiring a race where Leander competes, isnt it a bit funny that the Leander crew appealed only after the umpire insisted for them to appeal?
I am just a bystander with no crew as my favourite, but this was just a biased decision. I would bet my house that if the situation was the other way around, Leander would 100% not be DQ.
One final note which proves that their decision was biased and make the umpires hypocrites.
Rankov waved the red flag immediately after the race to DQ the Nereus crew. He DID NOT see the Nereus coach gesturing his crew to steer away, but obviously red flagged the race for some other reason (making puddles, we could probably find 20 races where this is violated).
Only AFTER the race, when they reviewed the video footage, they found the coach gesturing and decided that it would be a DQ.
This proved to me that this was a biased decision to give their home crew a win they didnt deserve.
    This is my opinion.

An astounding HRR enhanced in no small measure by the company and expertise of some really good commentators and the great BTSport coverage.
I endorse all your points about the final day's amazing selection and range of quality racing and respect your views on the Nereus DQ.
On the CAL crash in the Visitors, I do feel that no-one has picked up on the fact that it was probably down to the over exuberance of the bowman (or the exhaustion of the #2 man) which caused the incident with the booms. It is clear that it wasn't the steering but the unmatched power from the bow seat that pulled the boat round in those final (sic) strokes. This is evident in the video where the collision into the booms is initiated at the catches of two enormous strokes preceding it
Just one more observation: your category for the video. Comedy? Perhaps that's the reference to HRR 2026 rather than 2016 but, having enjoyed your broadcasting, wit and opinion over the last few days, you're forgiven! ;-)

    Martin, shouldn’t it be 2016 not 2026

Thanks. Agree with you on Nereus Mart. Why couldn't they do an end-of-day re-row as in the past ? They typically produced some great races. Pity for these crews who travel so far and clearly love the HRR tradition.
