  • This modular synthesis technique creates a full drum beat with kick, snare, and high hat using only two modules:
    1) Pamela's PRO Workout (Clock and modulation source)
    2) Plaits (Oscillator with multiple synth engines)
    A version using a Quadratt (attenuverter and voltage offsets) instead of the cross operations can be found in this video: • Creating a drum beat w...

    Couldnt you just use the unused channels of pam as a modulation rather than using another lfo? Quantizing the random waveform works pretty good

    Good video. Why are you using ochd to modulate instead of the remaining Pam's outputs?

    • @Perceptes

      It's just quicker to set up, and the modulation was not the point of the video. I'm planning another video soon that will be more of a "Pam does it all" approach.

    the annoying thing is that the settings for the different drums (or even other sounds since model modulation is really sweet in anycase) are usually never matching. This also happens on other mutable modules - where there are modes to flip through sounds but the settings when sharing similar knob values, sound wrong or boring - so i wish there was an easier way to automate this stuff instead of having to also pump cv into all of the other inputs per step - like some sort of a memory or last used setting - like the SDS Oscillator does

    • @Perceptes
      @Perceptes  6 месяцев назад

      Great point. I haven't looked into it but I think there are modules designed for this type of thing, kind of like a "preset" module. I vaguely recall there might be one by Shakmat. But it would certainly be amazing if Plaits had something like that built in.
