Love your project ideas Bonnie. If I was knitting the cardigan I would split one of the skeins of mohair in half, and alternate it with the first skein. When the half skein runs out add the second skein, then when the first skein ends add in the other half skein. I think this would distribute the colors evenly. Have an amazing trip, can’t wait to see the progress you make in Japan.
Love all your makes and yarns. If you’re looking for cardigan patterns take a look at the April cardigan,I have made three now, the only change I made was to do a double knit button band, have a good trip and happy knitting ❤ 🧶 x
Thanks! And yay for yarn! I’m trying to get some yarn while in Japan as well. I’m not much of a souvenir person but I think making something with yarn from a trip will feel really special. Hope you’re enjoying the UK!
Check behind and or along side of your chair or sofa pillows for your needles, they can easily slip into the cracks between the cushion and the structure I’d the chair or sofa. I have them slip in there and hide occasionally.
I checked there a few times before I left for my trip because I’ve happen before too, but no luck. I’m assuming it’ll show up as soon as I get back from Japan hahaha
Have fun in Japan! Looking forward to seeing what you make to knit while you're there. Your ranunculus is beautiful! The color and fit are perfect for you!
It was me who recommended The Coloring Book Sweater and I’m so excited you love it. Your colors are gorgeous and I can’t wait to see the end result. I think you will enjoy the ride…have fun!
It looks like a really awesome pattern, thank you! It might be a bit before I get to cast it on with everything else I’m making, but I honestly want to cast it on as soon as possible 😊
All your finished project’s are wonderful. I hope you enjoy your time with your husband and friends. Enjoy! I am going on a 8 day cruise end of June and hope to make some yarn shops. We will be going to England Spain and France. Do you have any travel suggestions for me regarding knitting?
Ooh, that sounds like an amazing trip! I spent some time in southern Spain last year and absolutely loved it. I don’t have any real advice for travel knitting other than you should do it! I find that knitting makes the flights and train rides a lot more bearable and you get to knit some really great memories into whatever you’re making. I’ve never had issues taking my knitting on planes or anything, but I do take fingernail clippers instead of scissors to cut my yarn.

Thank you so much for this! That makes total sense. I think I got in my head a little and started overthinking the whole thing hahaha
Have a super time! ❤

Have fun in Japan! Just picked up some Norfolk wool in the UK! Probably wouldn’t have thought to do that before your podcast 😊

You do not have to alter skeins bc the busyness of the mohair will disguise the differences in the blue skeins.
Good point, thanks! I will still have to alternate the mohair throughout the project though, correct?
