Crunch is basically the Knuckles of the Crash series. Not entirely the same obviously but you have to admit, they do have similarities. • Antagonist turned good. • Mostly brawn, not brain. Etc etc.
Crunch and Knuckles have alot of similarities, one thing I can list is they were badass, however that trait went unused as more characters came along. So they were flanderized into what we know them now, a dumb joke.
I'm so excited to pick it up next month knew my fiancee love Mario kart and to me this game is better than Mario kart is why I picked it out cuz I knew my fiancee would love CTR.
Including Crunch in the game is a big deal since it shows that Post Naughty Dog characters and games are not beyond being brought back. Some have said they want a remaster of Twinsanity. And while I agree, I say I would prefer that they did not only remastered it, but fully completed it. For those who don't know, Twinsanity was rushed, it was meant to have a lot more content than it did. For example, Koala Kong was going to be a boss in the game, but was scarped due to time restriction.
I would love a fully realized twinsanity. I would be sad though cause some of the jokes wouldn't work if it was completed. Totally be worth for a remaster of the check bounce scene.
Or they could go a different route by making a whole new game that introduce Nina Cortex and Crunch Bandicoot But I wouldn't mind a remake of twinsanity

Among all the other shitty things CTTR did besides throwing out the skill in favor of the gimmicky Clash System which people cheesed because N.gin, Nina and, to a lesser extent, crunch had the most powerful weapons in the game. Ai drives and shoot perfectly so the tactic was to clash until the very end of the final lap, let the AI drive, then unclash before the finish line.
Nitro Kart was where his voice started sounding like that. As for CTTR, say what you want about gameplay Crunch, but at least he was flawlessly animated in the cinematics. Nitro Fueled still beats it though.
The weird part is that in Tag-Team Racing it's at least self-aware in that he's intentionally trying to be a good role model in order to cope with the fact that he was literally created to be evil. He's supposed to be leaning too hard into it because he's overcompensating for his time teamed up with the EleMentals.
Crunch is one of my favorite characters from the Crash Bandicoot series and I do hope they really work better on him on the future, Titans really did no justice to him, they didn't gave him a big chance to shine, the only game we get a bit of a chance to see him in action is on a GBA one, where the main enemy is N.Trace and N.Trophy, where some stages we use him, but they are all the sphere rolling around style of stage. Who knows, maybe if they renmake Wrath of Cortex they can up the game to get really more interesting, and after we finish the game we able to play as Crunch, that would be definitely fun.

@@rayman17578 I thought Wrath of Cortex was a bad game even before I knew it wasn't made by Naughty Dog. Crash was awkward to control, the characters and colours were ugly and it was overall a slog to get through. It was as bad of a Crash game as Enter the Dragonfly was a bad Spyro game.
Crunch was somewhat playable when you jacked him in Crash Mind Over Mutants. How they handle Crunch in Twinsanity was handled worse, he shows up once and never seen again throughout that whole adventure with no dialogue whatsoever.
@@luckydudex3765 Nah they weren't going to use anymore of Crunch. Twinsanity was all about Crash & Cortex(mostly Cortex). I don't think Crunch was in any of the cut content either. The game shows concept art of the whole plot in much better details than the actual game, and there was no showings of Crunch in any of them besides the villain party club in 1st boss. It's almost as if they didn't know what to do with his character in that game.

That was 9 months ago which is very recent for an old game like Twinsanity. There was also going to be a sequel after Twinsanity which was cancelled. Maybe Crunch would have been there. I don't mind that they ignored Crunch from Twinsanity, though it would be nice if they gave him more than a cameo role, so your point is valid too
Crunch's personality in CTR:NF is more in line with his older incarnation. Though considering remaster N. Gin having some Titans vibes (ballet dancing and screaming), Mr. T Crunch might return in a more sedated form.
Never played enter the Drafonfly but I sure as hell played WoC, and I loved it(I know, unpopular opinion), especially the music, damn that soundtrack is GOOD!!

Come to think of it, Crunch is basically the Crash series' equivalent of Knuckles. Introduced as a rival, and becomes the muscular, somewhat dim-witted, but still wholesome friend.
1) Sonic Boom Knuckles is best Knuckles 2) Krunch already have received the role the moment he turned face and started talking like Mr. T in Nitro Kart. 3) Him ending up in similar situation as Knuckles is 10x better the ending up like Shadow where he is flanderized to brooding a lot, talking how he is the ultimate lifeform (and some other BS) and using a gun cause since when have in the Crash and Sonic series animal characters used guns . . . besides Pinstripe and Fang the Sniper (or Nack the Weasal).

Silvermoon Eh, considering Vicarious they intend to steer clear from any elements from Crash of the Titans. Plus the mention Mister T portrayal originated from them in Crash Nitro Kart, because honestly he didn’t really have much of a character in Wrath of Cortex. As for Knuckles, controversial opinion, I find his Adventure period characterization to be very generic. Especially compare to his classic (and Mania) portrayal, the Archie Comics and Boom where he manage to have a character besides just finding and guarding the Master Emerald. I mean classic have him being a well intentioned hero antagonist who is paranoid of anybody who enters Angel Island, Archie comics gave him a lot of backstory including his connection with the Echidna tribe and a sort of chosen one elements, and Boom basically made him the Ed of the group . . . now I regret that Sonic Boom doesn’t have a third season. Adventures and onwards Knuckles is pretty much described as “Another of Sonic Friends” with the only thing going for him are his hunt for the broken Master Emeralds and romance with Rogue (both of which are hardly focused).
I’m still waiting for missing characters such as Komodo Moe, Koala Kong, Tawna, Dr N. Brio, Baby T, Spyro, N. Trance, Emperor Velo 27th and 5 CNK Bosses Krunk, Nash, Norm, Big Norm, and Geary!!!

To be fair, Kevin Michael Richardson's second performance in Nitro Kart was nothing like the original and sounded like Mr. T as well. I thought that Chris Williams was brought in there, but no, he was brought in for Tag Team until Mind over Mutant.

Since wrath of cortex Crash, Coco, amd Crunch became the "Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles" of the franchise. This idea could've been explored further but the Crash games in general kinda went downhill from WOC. I'm glad to see Crunch in Nitro fueled and maybe they'll bring the trio back into possible future crash titles

Crunch still has a lot of potential as a character in the series, providing they avoid the Mr T angle. He makes a good big brother for Crash and Coco :)
I wouldn't mind Crunch having a *little bit* of the Mr. T angle, like they did in Nitro Kart, it's more of how overused the angle was since "Tag Team Racing". In Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart, you can see that he acts similar to Classic/Adventure Knuckles (minus the Master Emerald concept), so the Mr. T angle back then wasn't as noticable when that part of Crunch's personality was present. Later on, however, starting with "Tag Team Racing", Crunch would act more like what Knuckles would become in Sonic Boom; and that is when the Mr. T angle starts to get more noticed.
You're not the only one who wants Pasadena O'Possum in CTR: N-F. I want Nina Cortex & Ebenezer Von Clutch, too. If they can put in CTTR tracks in the game, that would be cool. If they don't, that's still okay.
The only issue I had with cttr was all you had to do to win races was fuse with N gin, which made it very boring. But give me the tracks as dlc, that would be awesome
@@red5robb1 There are skins from that game that I think now look better and more improved than they were originally(Star Crash, Princess Coco, Neo Fu Cortex(Dr. Cortex's ninja skin, & Ballerina N. Gin)going to be in NITRO-FUELED. There is also now karts and their wheels based on the cars from CTTR like there were in Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2 but way better. They even brought back Wumpa Coins that you can use to get kart bodies, wheels, and stickers. They can be earned in the game's "Adventure Mode". Who knows if this will happen? For those people that doubted that CTTR content was going to be in NITRO-FUELED, check the kart customization trailer. You'll think otherwise then once you look at it.

I love Crunch, wrath of cortex was one of the first Crash games I owned alongside warped and the first game, now by far and away my favourite racer to use in nitro fuelled! 😁
Pasadena o’ possum isn’t the only one ⬇️ Ebenezer Von Clutch! The mad green man as a German Cyborg 🇩🇪, makes him also reliable for CTR:NF for his comeback can make CTR, CNK & CTTR all in one game makes a special game for everyone
Glad this video was made. It really does suck what they did to him after Wrath. The idea of there being another good guy on the Bandicoot's side was really cool, since for many games it was just Crash and Coco. But not only did they barely do anything with him after his debut, but like you said, they turned him into a really stupid Mr. T parody for some reason. I'm really hoping they don't go in that direction with him in Nitro-Fueled.
If they make a new game that includes post-Naughty Dog era characters, they could make Crunch a playable character for, I don't know, a little Beat 'em Up section? As a little bonus for people who actually enjoyed the Titans games, I guess. He is too big and buff to be used for traditional platforming levels, so... Also, as for his personality, instead of making him a blatant Mr. T parody, they could use his personality in Nitro Kart and even Nitro Fueled - cocky and maybe obsessed with fitness, but still a good guy at heart.
Soo Crunch is like Ice Bear from We Bare Bears when Icey got hitted on his head then his personality changed but Crunch personality was experimented by Cortex...
If the next main series Crash game has Crunch in it I hope he starts off as a villain (doesn't have to be main villain) again and then joins the good guys at the end of the game similar to WoC or even become an anti hero.
Honestly, Crunch's appearance (not Mr. T) in a new Crash Bandicoot game is basically a prerequisite for me, especially as a playable character. The first Bandicoot who can destroy iron crates with a normal spin. That's my vision for him.

Get this I was only 5 years old and I played Crash Mind Over Mutants and I then got Crash Twinsanity I was wondering where Crunch was and I thought I saw him but wasn't sure if it was him then I had Crash Tag Team Racing and got CNK and saw him but never had all the others minus those 4 games but Crash Mind Over Mutants was my favorite cuz somehow as a little kid I managed to complete the whole story and getting a 100% I remembered I played it over the summer every 24/7 and as a teen which I played the game again I managed to complete the whole game on my old PS2 using a new memory card and completed the game to 100% within a week (Edit): forgot to mention that I lost the 2 crash race games and I had Twinsanity but the game was kinda cracked and idk what made it crack cuz it was kept safe in a disc bag with the Mind Over Mutants
Well, Crunch had his Mr. T Quips from the Nitro Kart which came out at least five Years before the mutant series, though he had fewer sayings than before (It was almost like they were only doing the references for the sake of reference rather than a big overdeveloped ideology in later games) As the years went on he got more and more "Mr. T" sayings.
I want Pasadena as well. Also I know a lot of people want Spyro as a Guest Racer, but you know who else I think would make an awesome Guest Racer? Ty the Tasmanian Tiger.
Only bad characters in titans/mom were tiny, of fucking course, he got ruined pretty bad and yeah, crunch. His design was more badass than any previous crash game though. Especially in MOM, i fucking LOVE that design. Btw, i like cttr the most out of the 2 crash racing games. (Fuck nitro kart, it does not exist, Velo and tracks are the dlc for nitro fuel for me) I've said many times in the past that ctr is the best kart racer ever made and a near perfect game, but always liked cttr more. Mainly because of the weak freeroam platforming, cool vechiles (especially crash's 1st vechile, it's like a bike? I don't care i LOVE it) and outfits, ninas fucking shotgun, dumbass humor, story and collectables and that PERFECT song for tiki turbo. Plus it's one of the few games that let you do SOMETHING during it's (short) loading screens. Would love for the tiki turbo and labrea car pits track to be remade. Anyway, what i wanted to say was all new characters from cttr are trash, only liked the elephants coz i could troll and kill them. The game is out, and unfortunately for many, Richardson won’t be reprising his role as Crunch Bandicoot in Nitro Fueled, that role now goes to Ike Amadi. However, Richardson is in the game as the voice of “Stew”, one of the chicken announcers in the game.
I will be completely honest, I don't mind Crunch Mr. T impressions and I also love Kevin Michael Richardson's voices for him too. I didn't really care for Ike's Crunch voice in CTR NF. So if they do bring Kevin back to voice Crunch, all I hope is he does NOT have Crunch doing that Dark Laser maniacal laughter in The Fairly OddParents
I don’t understand why people want Pasadena so much. I loved CTTR as a kid, but found her and Von Clutch really boring. Especially Pasadena since she played hardly any role in that game, despite being where she was introduced. I think Nina would be a much better choice because of her relation to Cortex, and I personally found her hilarious and cool in Twinsanity. But if Pasadena is added, it’s likely Nina will be anyway

@@luckydudex3765 Nah they weren't going to use anymore of Crunch. Twinsanity was all about Crash & Cortex(mostly Cortex). I don't think Crunch was in any of the cut content either. The game shows concept art of the whole plot in much better details than the actual game, and there was no showings of Crunch in any of them besides the villain party club in 1st boss. It's almost as if they didn't know what to do with his character in that game.
@@MSCLeap75 The thing is, there are many ideas that we still don't know about. 9 months ago, a former studio developer mentioned the "Bug Run" level that was cut. That was 9 months ago which is very recent for an old game like Twinsanity. There was also going to be a sequel after Twinsanity which was cancelled. Maybe Crunch would have been there. I don't mind that they ignored Crunch from Twinsanity, though it would be nice if they gave him more than a cameo role, so your point is valid too

Crunch's personality in CTR:NF is more in line with his older incarnation.
Though considering remaster N. Gin having some Titans vibes (ballet dancing and screaming), Mr. T Crunch might return in a more sedated form.
Man wrath of cortex wasn't amazing, but it was miles ahead the enter dragonfly fiasco.
Refresh my memory as to why people hated it again? As a kid it was fine for me, beat it within a week.
Never played enter the Drafonfly but I sure as hell played WoC, and I loved it(I know, unpopular opinion), especially the music, damn that soundtrack is GOOD!!

Silvermoon Eh, considering Vicarious they intend to steer clear from any elements from Crash of the Titans. Plus the mention Mister T portrayal originated from them in Crash Nitro Kart, because honestly he didn’t really have much of a character in Wrath of Cortex.
As for Knuckles, controversial opinion, I find his Adventure period characterization to be very generic. Especially compare to his classic (and Mania) portrayal, the Archie Comics and Boom where he manage to have a character besides just finding and guarding the Master Emerald. I mean classic have him being a well intentioned hero antagonist who is paranoid of anybody who enters Angel Island, Archie comics gave him a lot of backstory including his connection with the Echidna tribe and a sort of chosen one elements, and Boom basically made him the Ed of the group . . . now I regret that Sonic Boom doesn’t have a third season. Adventures and onwards Knuckles is pretty much described as “Another of Sonic Friends” with the only thing going for him are his hunt for the broken Master Emeralds and romance with Rogue (both of which are hardly focused).

To be fair, Kevin Michael Richardson's second performance in Nitro Kart was nothing like the original and sounded like Mr. T as well. I thought that Chris Williams was brought in there, but no, he was brought in for Tag Team until Mind over Mutant.

I wouldn't say he is the best character, but definently wasted potential, also just a fun character. Since wrath of cortex Crash, Coco, amd Crunch became the "Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles" of the franchise. This idea could've been explored further but the Crash games in general kinda went downhill from WOC. I'm glad to see Crunch in Nitro fueled and maybe they'll bring the trio back into possible future crash titles

Crunch still has a lot of potential as a character in the series, providing they avoid the Mr T angle. He makes a good big brother for Crash and Coco :)
I wouldn't mind Crunch having a *little bit* of the Mr. T angle, like they did in Nitro Kart, it's more of how overused the angle was since "Tag Team Racing". In Wrath of Cortex and Nitro Kart, you can see that he acts similar to Classic/Adventure Knuckles (minus the Master Emerald concept), so the Mr. T angle back then wasn't as noticable when that part of Crunch's personality was present. Later on, however, starting with "Tag Team Racing", Crunch would act more like what Knuckles would become in Sonic Boom; and that is when the Mr. T angle starts to get more noticed.
Used to main Tiny when I was younger but now that Crunch is in the game and has the same stats. Gonna be using him since I loved him in WoC.

@@red5robb1 There are skins from that game that I think now look better and more improved than they were originally(Star Crash, Princess Coco, Neo Fu Cortex(Dr. Cortex's ninja skin, & Ballerina N. Gin)going to be in NITRO-FUELED. There is also now karts and their wheels based on the cars from CTTR like there were in Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2 but way better. They even brought back Wumpa Coins that you can use to get kart bodies, wheels, and stickers. They can be earned in the game's "Adventure Mode". Who knows if this will happen? For those people that doubted that CTTR content was going to be in NITRO-FUELED, check the kart customization trailer. You'll think otherwise then once you look at it.

Glad this video was made. It really does suck what they did to him after Wrath. The idea of there being another good guy on the Bandicoot's side was really cool, since for many games it was just Crash and Coco. But not only did they barely do anything with him after his debut, but like you said, they turned him into a really stupid Mr. T parody for some reason. I'm really hoping they don't go in that direction with him in Nitro-Fueled.

Honestly, Crunch's appearance (not Mr. T) in a new Crash Bandicoot game is basically a prerequisite for me, especially as a playable character. The first Bandicoot who can destroy iron crates with a normal spin. That's my vision for him.

Get this I was only 5 years old and I played Crash Mind Over Mutants and I then got Crash Twinsanity I was wondering where Crunch was and I thought I saw him but wasn't sure if it was him then I had Crash Tag Team Racing and got CNK and saw him but never had all the others minus those 4 games but Crash Mind Over Mutants was my favorite cuz somehow as a little kid I managed to complete the whole story and getting a 100% I remembered I played it over the summer every 24/7 and as a teen which I played the game again I managed to complete the whole game on my old PS2 using a new memory card and completed the game to 100% within a week
(Edit): forgot to mention that I lost the 2 crash race games and I had Twinsanity but the game was kinda cracked and idk what made it crack cuz it was kept safe in a disc bag with the Mind Over Mutants

Well, Crunch had his Mr. T Quips from the Nitro Kart which came out at least five Years before the mutant series, though he had fewer sayings than before (It was almost like they were only doing the references for the sake of reference rather than a big overdeveloped ideology in later games) As the years went on he got more and more "Mr. T" sayings.

Only bad characters in titans/mom were tiny, of fucking course, he got ruined pretty bad and yeah, crunch. His design was more badass than any previous crash game though. Especially in MOM, i fucking LOVE that design.
Btw, i like cttr the most out of the 2 crash racing games. (Fuck nitro kart, it does not exist, Velo and tracks are the dlc for nitro fuel for me) I've said many times in the past that ctr is the best kart racer ever made and a near perfect game, but always liked cttr more. Mainly because of the weak freeroam platforming, cool vechiles (especially crash's 1st vechile, it's like a bike? I don't care i LOVE it) and outfits, ninas fucking shotgun, dumbass humor, story and collectables and that PERFECT song for tiki turbo. Plus it's one of the few games that let you do SOMETHING during it's (short) loading screens. Would love for the tiki turbo and labrea car pits track to be remade. Anyway, what i wanted to say was all new characters from cttr are trash, only liked the elephants coz i could troll and kill them. Maybe only bring back nina, which yes, she's not from cttr but still, bring her back. Same with Velo, N. Brio, Koala Kong and Spyro.

The game is out, and unfortunately for many, Richardson won’t be reprising his role as Crunch Bandicoot in Nitro Fueled, that role now goes to Ike Amadi. However, Richardson is in the game as the voice of “Stew”, one of the chicken announcers in the game.
I will be completely honest, I don't mind Crunch Mr. T impressions and I also love Kevin Michael Richardson's voices for him too. I didn't really care for Ike's Crunch voice in CTR NF. So if they do bring Kevin back to voice Crunch, all I hope is he does NOT have Crunch doing that Dark Laser maniacal laughter in The Fairly OddParents
I don’t understand why people want Pasadena so much. I loved CTTR as a kid, but found her and Von Clutch really boring. Especially Pasadena since she played hardly any role in that game, despite being where she was introduced. I think Nina would be a much better choice because of her relation to Cortex, and I personally found her hilarious and cool in Twinsanity. But if Pasadena is added, it’s likely Nina will be anyway
