I am a Brother lover my entire adult life. I leaned on my mothers Singer, no complaints. But for some reason I started with Brother, & never looked back. BTW: I just retired, as a point of reference. Happy sewing!
I share your love for straight stitch machines! I have 13! All old vintage Singers. I can get them to do most of what the fancy new machines can do! Sew on, my friend!
Straight stitchers rock! I looked hard at the Brother 1500, but went with the Juki TL-2010q only because it has speed control, which is good for FMQ. My friend has the Brother1500 and she loves it. Both are workhorses. Can't wait to see what Rob does with it!
Yes sir I have 2 brother 1500 one I sew with and the other is set up to a frame to quilt with. I also have a Viking Ruby Royal but use it to zig zag or do embroidery mainly. I love my Brother machines.
I purchased the same machine, Brother PQ1500SL just before Christmas. I did a live stream sale on my RUclips channel, so my subscribers helped me earn the money for it. A few of them own one, but I heard your name over and over as someone who absolutely loves and recommends this machine. I’m still getting used to it, but I haven’t found anything that it won’t sew through. I love it! I will keep watching to see what your machine comes back looking like… the excitement is real! It’ll be a superstar no matter what!
My Brother SQ9285 just quit a couple months ago. It was a workhorse. For me anyway. I now have a Juki HZL f-300. I love it. She does so many things the Brother wouldn’t do! Including sailing over seams with hesitation! I love it. Can’t wait to see your Brother when you get it back.
If you haven’t mailed off your sewing machine yet, I saw a wonderful way to make sure the machine survives the trip. You wrap it in a T shirt, and use expanding foam to fill the spaces between the machine and a very sturdy box. I’m guessing that one would need to do this in 2 parts, so it can be unpacked! Also, then putting that box in another box, with foam around it. That’s how computers are packed…
Industrial Juki 8700, I have one its a work horse, you will love it! I even free motion quilt on it, it's so easy because of the wide throat space. I see them on FB marketplace all the time.
I have had a Brother PQ-1500s for so dang long that I do not remember when I purchased it (I know I have had him for at least 18 years). This old man is a beast and does everything I want him to do. I keep him maintained by my dealer and I do my required user maintenance. If you are going to have Rob A. embellish your machine's paint job I have no doubt it will be anything less than remarkable. I look forward to the pictures.
After watching your review of the Brother PQ1500 SL, I decided to buy one to replace the 40 year old Kenmore from my mom. After 5 years, you couldn't pry it out of my hands ! It is such a workhorse!. I still have the Kenmore for zig-zag and blanket stitching (or when the Brother needs regular maintenance) but I love my Brother. Thanks so much for keeping quilting a joy !
Has it been that long Mark? I remember when you received this for a birthday gift or Father's Day ❤️ That machine has literally miles on it. And, now quilting with it as well. I found you through Tracey and Bill! Bill and I would talk about our music a lot. I'm so glad you listened to Tracey about your channel. You've come a long way Mark, and I really hope you can see that ❤️🤗🙏
I’m sure Rob will do an amazing job! Can’t wait to see the finished project. I have a Baby Lock Brilliant that I enjoy sewing with. It was an upgrade from my Brother CS6000i. BTW: I was surprised you did not mention your Bernina. Did I miss something? “I piece, I quilt and then I move on!” That’s my same mantra!😂
I am so glad you are not getting rid of your Brother! I have this exact machine, and I love it! I read the title and almost cried. Glad it was click bait.
I have your machine but in the Juki line, Juki TL2010Q. I love mine as well. The simplicity of use and power is perfect for quilting and everything else.
I agree with you I have 2 Brother sewing machine and I love them both and I been sewing for 5 years now and all I sew is quilts and small projects for gifts. I haven't had any issues with them the only time I take them in is for service.
I bought this machine almost 2 years ago, the "ONLY" thing I hate about this machine is it needs to be oiled every 2-3 hours!! If you don't oil the bobbin area, it starts clanking likes it's falling apart!!! I prefer this over my Babylock Cresendo, because when you backstitch with the cresendo bunches up under the needle.
I feel that way about my singer heavy weight I got it from amazon for 99.Oo dollars several years ago and it is still works as good as new . A little cleaning and a little oil once in a while and it hasn’t skipped a beat it’s great to have a good machine . I use mine most every day .
I just got a machine like this. I went back and watched all your videos that I could find about it. Thanks for all your help. Love your videos. And thanks for your service.
Can’t wait to see final outcome! I have a Juki 8700 a table model that just sew straight and love the convenience of the table and the speed. I also have a BabyLock Destiny 2 mostly use it for embroidering. Just such a waste of a beautiful machine which I bought when I was about 3 years into quilting. Have FW and two machines I take to retreat which now sit since Covid. I need to really down size!
You got me!!! I have that machine and I loooove!!! It!! I was like ….parting ways!!! Nooo why!!! I agree, Rob is an amazing artist! Cant wait to see what he does with it!! Lol you got me good!!
You must have got one of the "good" machines. I bought the same model after it first came out. It has broken more threads than all of my other machines combined, throughout my lifetime. "Stitch, stitch, stitch, SNAP!". Rethread and try again. Nope. Send it to the shop and they say "hmm, I see what you mean". Brought it home, and now the thread cutter doesn't work, and it sews four stitches and stops. Not kidding. I've been considering tying a chain around mine and using it as a boat anchor. I'm glad you like your machine! As for shipping, you might consider FedEx. If you take it in, they will put it in the box and put that spray foam in to make a perfect fitting container for it, so nothing shakes, rattles or rolls. And they guarantee that it will arrive in the condition it was sent. Take pictures for proof! I look forward to seeing your "new" machine!!
I too love my brother 1300, it’s a workhorse. However, i did buy a Juki straight stitch for my summer house. I love it as well. Can’t wait to see what Rob does to your machine.
My favorite did bite the dust so sad…….the best ride in the park. Met longtime friends thr that machine. Did ME, such a learning curve. Waving to you from Michigan
I have the Juki DDL 8700H industrial and the Juki TL 2000Qi and I love them both! If you’re looking into an industrial I recommend the DDL 8700 without the H for what you do. I do bag making mostly and the heavy will eat up the thin cotton, even if interfaced. Having said that if you’re interested in the industrial with the walking foot go with the DU 1181N or similar. Just make sure you get one with the servo motor! 😊
If you're looking for a Juki industrial, I have the DDL-8700. It might the the type you're looking for. It's the model seen in many of the videos on the Jordan Fabrics channel. I got mine from Amazon. I still have my speed regulator turned way down. I'm nowhere near ready for 5,500 stitches per minute yet.
I have that same machine and I love it for the most part. I don’t like not knowing when the bobbin thread is running out but it’s still a workhorse. I’ve actually owned several Brother machines over the years and I’ve loved them all.
My machine is a Brother CS5055. I got it as a Christmas gift a few years ago and I really enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing what Rob does to your machine. Take care and God bless y’all! 😀❤️
I'm so glad to see you do this video , I love my brother machines , I have had them for years , I was recently looking at getting a new machine , I looked at juki but when we did a comparison of the stats I realised I was just as good keeping my Brother as it matched and in some areas outside the juki . I can't wait to see what Rob does with your machine .
I got a Babylock Jazz 2 with a 12" throat space which is totally AWESOME!! It has 28 stitch patterns, but I only use straight stitch and zig zag. It is super fast!! I don't think I could ever go back to a smaller throat space. I believe the Jazz 2 is actually made by Brother.
Gosh Mark has it been that long?! Didn’t you air the unpacking of your brother machine?! It seems like only a few years ago. Just blows my mind. I was almost duped by your headline. I was really shocked because you were very succinct about your affinity for your Brother machine! I’m glad it was a joke. Rob is a great guy. He’s so fun to watch. He has a lot of energy and he is indeed gifted artistically. What a great group of quilters! Thanks for sharing. Super excited to see what Rob does with your machine. It will be worth the time without it.
Why do you think the Sew Yeah brothers do their "will it sew" segment on Brother machines. It's crazy what they will take. Hope my new one lasts forever.
OMGGGGGGG I SWEAR YOU WERE REALLY GONNA SAY YOU NOW HATE THE BROTHER LOL......YESTURDAY I SAW THE VIDEO OF HOW MUCH YOU LOVE IT SO IT TRULY GAVE ME HOPE.....TODAY I SEE THIS TITLE AND I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DAM WELL CRYYYYYY LOL 😂 LOL 😂 I SPENT THE WHOLE NIGHT THINKING ABOUT MY BROTHER SO IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EARTH SHATTERING TO HEAR YOU SAY ITS NOW A HELL NO . LOL 😂 LOL 😂.....I TRUST YOUR WORD SO IM SOOOOOOOOO GLAD YOUR STILL ROOTING FOR OUR BROTHER BECAUSE I CANT WAIT FOR MINE !!!!!
I've had that same machine for at least 12 years, and it is still like new after hundreds of sewing and upholstery projects. I love it so much.
I love my new brother machine. It is a work horse. I am so glad you are giving artistic license to Rob. He is a great guy.
I hope Appel does you right. Please 😮show us the fine artistry of his work on your Brother sewing machine.
What happened to the Bernina?
Quilting Marine...you and your BEAUTIFUL wife....ROCK!!!!
What happened to your Bernina you did the unboxing video for?
You do remember the Bernina was gifted to you. You did an unboxing on camera, remember?
I own the same machine and love its ability to keep pace to me.
Straight stitchers rock! I looked hard at the Brother 1500, but went with the Juki TL-2010q only because it has speed control, which is good for FMQ. My friend has the Brother1500 and she loves it. Both are workhorses. Can't wait to see what Rob does with it!
I purchased PQ1500SL because of you! I love it! I'm excited about the upgrade 🤗
Yes sir I have 2 brother 1500 one I sew with and the other is set up to a frame to quilt with. I also have a Viking Ruby Royal but use it to zig zag or do embroidery mainly. I love my Brother machines.

That was supposed to be withOUT hesitation… lol.
I have a Brother and a Juki. Love them both. . . .
You are the reason I got my Brother and I absolutely LOVE it... I will not have another machine ever..thank you for keeping her!
Piece. Quilt. Move on! Got it! I enjoy your videos!
Love mine too! Learned to quilt on it!
I have Vikings i love them
Industrial Juki 8700, I have one its a work horse, you will love it! I even free motion quilt on it, it's so easy because of the wide throat space. I see them on FB marketplace all the time.

Where is your Bernina? Does it still work?
After watching your review of the Brother PQ1500 SL, I decided to buy one to replace the 40 year old Kenmore from my mom.

I bought this exact machine because of your recommendation a while back, and still have it; It is a one-stitch wonder.
Thanks

I would take my Singer over your Brother anytime. I have sewn since I was in grade school, I am now 68. That is all I see with.
So good to see you, Mark! Can’t wait to see how Rob trips out your Brother-it will be work of art, no doubt.
I might have missed a episode, do you still have the Bernina?
I love Brother too. I hope Rob does a video about it because I cannot wait 🇬🇧 🏴 x
Best sewing machines ever made. I look forward to your machine facelift.
I can't wait to see you quilting on the Nolting longarm!!
Can't wait to see it!
I got a new Brother machine for Christmas and I LOVE LOVE it. Also, love your shirt, my husband needs one of those :)
I have a Juki…and I love it so much. It is perfect for my needs. And I am so happy that you love your Brother ❤
I love that. I piece, I stitch, I move on! ❤
I LOVE mine! I bought one based on your recommendation!!! Thank you for all you do! I can't wait to see the makeover!

Oh my stars! I can’t wait to see it! ❤❤❤.
Try Juki TL2010. Great straight stitch machine. Thank you for your service.
I just us a Singer 201-2. It’s a simple machine and a industrial singer 331K4. Just all straight stitching. Their old but still in good condition.
I have your machine but in the Juki line, Juki TL2010Q. I love mine as well. The simplicity of use and power is perfect for quilting and everything else.

Juki DDL 8700. There are different options. I love mine.
Can't wait to see your machine new look!

Where did you get that fabulous shirt? I’m married to a grumpy old vet and that would be a fabulous birthday gift.
Omg. Rob's going to do a fabulous job. Have a great day
Do you have an update on your brother sewing machine for us ?
I have that same machine, it is my EVERYDAY buddy!!! Can't wait to see the makeover by Rob!!
I have the Juki DDL 8700H industrial and the Juki TL 2000Qi and I love them both! If you’re looking into an industrial I recommend the DDL 8700 without the H for what you do. Love my Juki I have a Tl 2010q
If you need straight, Juki's your machine.
Awesome I can’t wait to see it done 😊
I just bought a Juki that is very similar to the Brother you have and I love it!
I have that same machine and I love it for the most part. I don’t like not knowing when the bobbin thread is running out but it’s still a workhorse. I’ve actually owned several Brother machines over the years and I’ve loved them all.

Going to look awesome🎉🎉
Did you get rid of your Bernina?
I've got a Husqvarna so I can relate.
I bought my PQ1500sl based on your video however long ago that was!
And o forgot to add - I LOVE IT!!!
i have the exact same machine lol and yes it is awsome! :D I can't wait to see what Rob does with it and im sure it will be fabulous!!!!!!
I think I may be getting this machine from my son as a Birthday gift.. Any advice would be appreciated.
What happened to your Bernina machine?
I still have my Bernina!
What happened to the Bernina your marine buddies got you? The one that was all camouflaged out?
Can we see the finished product?
Looking forward to seeing your machine. =^^=
Love your shirt! Where can I get one?
Gosh Mark has it been that long?! Didn’t you air the unpacking of your brother machine?! It seems like only a few years ago. Just blows my mind.

Watch out for the plate on Jukis -- some of them (all of them?) are not flush with the sewing machine arm. Very annoying.
What happened to your bernena?
Why are you dissing my Juki??😫
What about your bernina?
So…result?
Why do you think the Sew Yeah brothers do their "will it sew" segment on Brother machines. It's crazy what they will take. Hope my new one lasts forever.
Your Bernina looks sad sitting there under its cover.
