Thank you Ross we Been trying to get wonder hussy to wear decent shoes when hiking for years 😂 . I'm glad we got to see your sister again in the video shame she doesn't record it'd be great to see alaska 😀
I know the feeling of saying goodbye for the summer . . . I live about 40 miles outside of Phoenix; in the Sonoran Desert. Many of the houses surrounding my home are owned by Snowbirds from Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, and upstate New York. Each year, around early November, the seasonal residents - aka, Snowbirds - begin their annual pilgrimage to the Valley of the Sun. Then, by late December, all the refugees have arrived for a sun-filled respite from their bone-chilling full-time residences. For the next three to four months, the immediate neighborhood comes back to life, as we share with each other what we did from June through October. Somewhere between the end of the MLB Cactus League training camps and May 1st, the local population slowly dwindles as, one by one, the Snowbirds head up Interstate 17 for their trek homeward. Traditionally, the Snowbird season ends with hugs, handshakes, goodbyes, and wishes for a safe journey home. Like me, all the Snowbirds are elderly retirees. So, when I hear those last parting words - "See you next winter" - I know the liklihood of that happening lessens with each passing year. Nevertheless, the optimism of reuniting stands strong. So, yeah, when the air in the Valley of the Sun becomes too warm, it marks a time to say "goodbye" dear friends, close the window shades, set the A/C to 78°, and hide from the Sun for the next six months. °°
I grew up in AZ, currently living in CA and looking to retire. If I could afford it, I'd spend the winters in Phx and the rest of the year in Flag. Well, it's a fantasy.

When I moved to Palm Springs in 1989, Memorial Day marked the date that most of the restaurants and stores closed for the summer and Labor Day was when the tourist season began. Most of the support staff headed for Vegas or Seattle for the summer. Year rounders threw weekend pool parties during the down time. Now the stores and restaurants stay open and we have tourists that just want to know what 120° and dry feels like.
Very true. I was there years ago on a June 29. 108 degrees. Hoards of people on Palm Canyon Drive. The phrase 'pull your chain' or 'yank your chain' to describe a prank or joke on someone, comes from honey carts. They were chocked in place with a chain. When someone was committed to their business on the cart, pull their chain! Off they go, great gag!

Ended up Going to Pahrump to a church but on the way bk from breakfast at Pioneer saloon, we finally found Saint Therese. Gosh darn it. We pulled in and they were just finishing the late services and a big brunch. The people were very nice to us and it’s beautiful inside. I can’t wait until you do a video on that place!!what a story !!I never knew about that place holding all the ashes of all those Filipinos from all over the world. Wow. I don’t know about how true it is that Jesus Christ is going to be there, but whatever. I wonder if they have a spot for Italians like me 😂!! I’m so glad that we’re going to still see you throughout the summer, even though you’re not gonna be in Tecopa. Obsidian is volcanic glass.
# 5 in case you are wondering what an OLD man does while watching your videos, i'm drinking coffee and
pealing peanuts for the squirrels - because my wife gets " ticked off " that's a polite term, about all the shells
my little kids leave all over the deck
Same here...but I don't peel the peanuts....it would take forever...
Thes kids have a huge appetite...as well as the blue Jays...so I just sweep the patio in the evening ...and call it a day 🐿️
@@jamesorendorff2731 and @janetceniza8091 Funny thing...I've been to some places where peanut shells on the floor was a very normal thing.
You know you could always put the shells in a Container.. That would probably make your wife a lot happier.
Your videos are the best. Looking forward to your summer adventures. Safe travels.
Thank you for the update! Have a cool summer.
I worked at Death Valley National Park (Furnace Creek/Oasis) over 1 yr late 2015-2016. Majority of employees departed in early May, & returned October.

The phrase 'pull your chain' or 'yank your chain' to describe a prank or joke on someone, comes from honey carts. They were chocked in place with a chain. When someone was committed to their business on the cart, pull their chain! Off they go, great gag!
I will be watching! Love your video's!
I really love your life in death valley vids!
The Charlie Brown stripe was very interesting. Thanks for the tour. I enjoy seeing all of the quirky places around your area.
Miss SJ & Eliza, Ciao from Chuck & Vita Maria🇮🇹🐞🥰! Having visited your neighborhood, I enjoy your work 100x more! U ask Ross all the raw questions I’d ask! God bless u moxie gal!!I’d be so scared of the repelling trek!! Knarlie!! Easter Sunday the ice cream place was closed..if it’s the gal at the bar at Crowbar, we loved her!! Gave several days’ tips & hugs while we ate yummy food. Sorry about the loss of her $$$. Thx for stopping at the stripe & info! I wanted to know what that was about!!we looked all over for St. Therese for Easter services based on your friend & ours ,James. But I sure want to go back and visit the museum that you just portrayed of the two guys Carlo& Jack! Happy summertime fun!!Baci, baci beautiful!!!Ciao, Vita Maria 🍊cello gal🇮🇹.
Keep up the good work up love you JC
Great story, I was stationed in the Philippines when I was in the Navy, very interesting., Will be looking forward to your travels stay safe
I always thought Jesus is supposed to come back “from the East” on a cloud or something, with trumpets playing? 🤷🏼♀️ i would think the east coast, next to the Atlantic Ocean would be “first dibs” on the resurrection… 🤔🫢🥴🙃
Hopefully, we’ll all have something to look forward to after this ridiculously difficult trip around the universe on this ball we call earth 🌎 - a big, nice surprise for all of us skeptics! 🤩💯
