I created a shorter version of this arrangement last year (you might remember that video). Ever since then I've been planning to make a full version, and now that I'm working on a Chiptune album (to be released soon) I had the perfect reason to finally finish it. Hope you enjoy!
The take in this video is the very first I played after turning on the camera. It's not perfect, there are a few wrong notes here and there but I didn't feel like doing 10 more takes to try and get a perfect one (it's quite fatiguing and tricky to play on a mini-keyboard). You'll have to forgive me. :)
Composed by Frédéric Chopin.
Arranged and performed by Gil Assayas (GLASYS). - Видеоклипы
I love how committed you are to being authentic. You don't rely on tricks or editing to hide mistakes. You show the MIDI on the laptop as you're playing it in. Your playing is so accurate but you still keep a couple of small, natural imperfections in there. It's all _real._ Your dedication to craft is 👌 -Andrew
Andrew thanks so much my dude! I used to do lots of takes of my performances trying to get the “perfect” one, sometimes to the point where I’d push my body past it’s limits. honestly I got sick of that so I stopped worrying about a few wrong notes here and there. We’re only human :)
@@GLASYS I've been there... I know the struggle. It's so hard to let go of your vision of it being exactly how you want, but that ends up being impractical for your health, haha!
@@SheetMusicBoss No way! Was not expecting to see you here, but i guess it makes sense lol. Two of the best composers of YT. GLASYS might be the only guy to be able to pull off a live Rush E remix without any compromises.
Wonderful sir, I remember listening to the original back in 1839 when it first came out. Thank you for giving this piece life for a new generation
Haha! 200th birthday coming up pretty soon 😄
When Frédéric climbs the tower and finaly reachs the BigBoss battle…
OKAY, SO HOW ARE MY EYEBALLS SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW THIS ? INCREDIBLE !
Thanks Kent! 🙏😂
Unironically one of the best keyboard players I’ve ever seen. Universal champ of technicality in this style of music. Thanks for making your art, GLASYS
You are too kind my friend, thank you! 🙏
If you look at the midi to this, it actually draws Chewbacca
😄😄
Shredding it! Love the tone and the chops as always.
Always a good day with a GLASYS performance. Thank you.
Thanks for being so supportive! 🙏
You know I love this!!! W000000T. Repeating over and over.
Yo thanks my friend! Appreciate you 🙏
I stood up and Clapped! Bravo sir hope you're well!
Thanks James! Always great seeing you here man!
Amazing performance, GLASYS!
Thanks so much my friend! 🙏
Holy Mackerel that's a good Chopin
Couldn't stop watching the left hand. Mind blowing bro.
Ahh, super pumped to see this! I remember seeing the original and craving to see it extended
Amazing! One of my favorite Chopin pieces. I can also imagine 3 or 4 NES game genres with your rendition.
Thanks so much 😀🙏
Awesome!!!! Love the sound of the synth on the cascading octaves, + those countermelodies 🤩
Thanks Ella, glad you enjoyed it! 🙏😀
im shocked to see a such a cool cover of a beautiful piece from my favorite composer get less than 2k views on your channel, i guess its not everyones cup of tea, im glad you made it though
Thanks so much! Honestly I was never expecting this to get many views, it's a pretty niche thing. I've had many viral videos over the last year and I can say with certainty that view numbers aren't that important to me - I just wanna make things that feel meaningful to myself and those watching. Thanks again for your support! :)
Wow, that was insane!
Thank you 😀🙏
Incredible! I've watched this 3 times, and everytime I enjoyed it!
You're a virtuoso, good sir.
this is beautiful
可愛いアレンジですね!対旋律も美しいです。演奏もお見事です
Thank you 🙏
Lovely T-Shirt
Available on my website! 😁
Amazing!! Chopin would be proud 😁
Thanks Jakob!! 😀
Very playful! It gave me the smile I needed before bed. Thanks for sharing man!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it 😀🙏
Dang! Those fingers are on fire!
istg this sounds like something that would be played in video game bossfight
This is so good! Reminds me of Meganeko's recent classical music remixes!
Thanks! Not familiar with that artist, I’ll have to check it out!
Coming back to this just to request that you to try to arrange Chopin’s Prelude No. 14 someday, it’s such an amazing piece and I wonder how you’d transform it!
Hey Ella! I love all the Chopin Preludes, so maybe one day! Thanks for your support and kind words! 😀
You have my attention Mr asayas
We ❤️ 8 bit music, thanks for the performance !!
Thanks my friend!
🔥 as always Gil.
Thanks Sam, hope you’re well!
Learning this piece right now, I remember seeing the shorts version of this from you and decide to learn it on the piano
Hey that’s so awesome! Enjoy learning it. The left hand is tricky!
Holy f***in' sh**!!!!!!
nice left hand work 🤓
Awesome!
heck yeah
HOLY SHIT!!!!!
Awesome!!
Beautiful!❤
Thank you 💙
Wow! Amazing 👏👏👏
Thanks my dude! 🙌🙏
Sick ❤
That was awesome lol
😮 Sick!!
You're unreal, dude.
Your movement is so fluid, I'm curious if you could possibly play one of my favorite fast pieces.
CPE Bach - Solfeggietto
You can use all sorts of synth patches and it sounds incredible.
I spent a few months learning this when I was a novice and I LOVE the way it sounds. I'll bet you will KILL it.
I love you, and you are in inspiration.
Thanks FuzzyTriangles! I played that piece once, I love it too. Maybe I’ll revisit with my keyboards sometime! 🙏😊
When you fight Chopin in Undertale
Outstanding! I bet you could pull off a killer live show doing that kind of stuff on a (large!) keytar with a backing band! I'd definitely pay good money to see it
Thanks Lee! I tried playing a keytar once for a few shows and didn't really like it, but ya never know. :)
This prelude has the nickname Hades. Great for a video game villain.
DAMMNNNN
haha..awesome bro!!!! :-)))
Thanks so much!
You are piano guy.I am Turkish and İ think you are know me but i say love you so much. İ hope i meet you make a music happy day for you
Insaaane
I mixed up my keys and thought you were playing prelude no. 4 at first. Which I thought, tone-wise, would be rather odd to perform in 8 bit 😂.
No. 4 is fantastic too! I used to practice them all for fun. I think anyone of the preludes could work in 8 bit with the right tones :)
Its amazing may i know what VST have you used?
Thanks! I mainly used Retrologue for this one
@@GLASYS Thanks
with 10seconds, I subscribed you!
I appreciate you 🙏
Mantappppp
I can sense the left hand's envy 😂
Sick. Do the kids still say that?
Kids and way too many adults as well! 😂
But what does it look like as midi art??
Triangles 😄
Awesome song! What are your thoughts on a chiptune version of Bach in G minor?
Thanks! I’d like to make more classical chiptune, and I love Bach so maybe :)
How good IS that Korg?
It’s got super light action and it’s the only 5 octave mini controller in existence (as far as I know). I really like it
Please what vst are you using?
Retrologue
Playing on 1.25 sounds like 8 bit on original tempo
Your tendons sound like elevendons
