Dude your description of the pain cycle and the need to keep your work consistent is perfect. This is gospel.

3 months after a severe back spasm with conservative treatment at home felt smth weird. I bent down (properly) sharp pain all of a sudden if I continued to go down I would’ve collapsed like last time. I don’t know it’s so depressing I can’t do daily tasks without thinking twice. Brushing teeth is a hassle

Omg yes! I had been avoiding running for a year. Then I noticed my triggers were putting things in the oven and bending over doing the laundry. I had only been walking this year. I recently began running again, and no pain! I was so mad at myself. I had always continued the housework the same way, and that was what was causing my pain 🤦‍♀️ I missed running so much this year...and for nothing...Just because of my mindset and fear.

@@renatoteixeira7382 yes, diagnosed lumbar herniations in March. I still get lower back pain, but nothing like it was at first. It comes and goes, but I do feel that this new aching/tension is "growing pains" from using those muscles again after taking it easy this year. I still get some tingling/numbness/stiffness as well, but it disappears within a day now...as long as I watch my "triggers" and posture. I try not to let it cause anxiety and fear now. I know it is slowly getting better.
I hope yours heals! I had neck issues, as well, and that took 4 months to almost completely go away. Tiny bit of tinging in arm from that now. Everything I saw/read said it should resolve in 4-6 weeks. Not true!

What's up man. Finally met someone who has similar issues. Year ago full ruptured my l4-l5 woke up with the most extreme pain I've ever experienced. 1- 10 pain scale, 10 being burnt alive my was a 9. Had foot drop in right foot had to have immediate surgery, discectomy and laminectomy. Been doing PT for over a year and still not fulling recovered. Went to a PT specialist and she said I had forward Pelvic Tilt which is aggravating that disc. So 5 times a week I do the stretching and strength training for that, along with upper body strength training and cycling. My upper body strength is back but my legs are weak. Cycling is the only leg workout I'm doing. It helps but I feel I need more.
I try to strengthen my legs but it aggravates and worsens my pain in my leg. I don't know what to do. Hoping your leg routine will help but I'm scared to do another leg workout.

I developed lower back pain and leg pain (left>right) along with stiffness and numbness in Jan 2016 while doing weighted squats in gym, which was diagnosed as L5-S1 posterocentral disc protrusion causing indentation upon thecal sac and mild narrowing of bilateral lateral recess. Although the pain was not of severe intensity but it was definitely 6 out of 10 at that time.
Later i saw many specialists for my condition, also tried physio & exercises with posture related precautions.
None of these provided the complete relief.
It has been 5 years since the pain had started. Presently, intermittent lower back pain still occured and sometimes minor tingling and pain in toes also occured, but the intensity remains somewhere around 4 out of 10.
Standing is the biggest factor to increase my lower back pain since the beginning.
MRI done again in the last year March 2019: Disc dessication noted with diffused disc bulge, however no indentation upon thecal sac or nerve roots.
Injury happened at the age of 23 and now i am 28. This back issue made me somewhat scared and anxious about my posture. I have almost stopped doing any complete forward bending, lifting weights, even i am scared to do slouching while sitting. Mostly all of the times, i tend to remain my back in straight position.
Presently planning preparation for government based exams which requires atleast 6+ sitting hours, though i consider taking frequent breaks.
    My queries:
    - Is it okay to slouch while sitting or is it much better to sit straight with back support all the time during studying?
    - Should i attempt forward bending, flexing the spine, deep squatting and other daily activities which requires flexing our spine?
    - My fear of further provoking the damaged disc if i do any flexion in my lower back is how much genuine?
    - Weights needed to be Lifted during the household chores should be attempted without fear of further causing damage to the disc?

Hi! I am new at this. 3 months ago had acute lower back pain and found an disc buldge at l5-s1, some contact with S1 root but no damage on neurophysiology studies. However, began to feel some numbness somewhat intermittent. Don’t know if it’s the fear of feeling it, don’t know if it got worst from doing physiotherapy. Now, that numbness is gone and I fell fine.
Acute pain lasted for about 1 week at the beginning.
So I tend to look at that numbness as you look to your pain. Don’t know if I am doing the right thing. What do you think?

I just had ALIF surgery for same things. I had it 3month and a week ago. Had it for 6 years. Feel amazing. Doing yoga exercises etc. yesterday put up Christmas lights ALL day - my feet and legs were killing me, but my back is not at all. Do it. I was crying because of how much stress is lifted off of me. I am still being careful etc... good luck

Yes I am now a convert to having great posture. I got the upright go device and it helps keep me sitting up straight at my desk. Life long slouching lol.
