Just got these last week. I used them for a couple of cuts in the house. They did pretty well. I agree they could have used one more click. All the way closed didn't get as close as I'm used to. I also tried to use the Wahl metal guards but they were very loose on these clippers. I actually had better results using the guards they came with. I may have to change the blade and take these to the shop and see how they perform.

If you want more freedom with the lever, you can unscrew the lever and remove the very small metal ball that makes the lever fix on the etched circles.

Ordered the same one from ebay kinda disappointed with the packaging too i didnt even get the box cover just the manual clippers and the guards...was even more disappointed when the cutting blade came crooked took a little tweeking to straighten it a little other than that cuts good battery last i will be putting a wahl blade on it next....nice vid man...

I wish Kemeis version didn't have the star and the vertical label, I really like the look of the "All Metal" or the "Sokany" versions they look a bit more similar to the 1919s

Can you do a number 2 up top fade on the sides with just the original blade as well as guards? Also do I need a 0.5 as well as 1.5 guard to fade?

4 clicks = 5 level
Your 2nd click is level 3, which leaves you 1 and 2, lever, 3 and 4

How is this clipper holding up for you? I’ve had mine for about 3 months and I feel like the motor is slowing down. I was impressed when I first bought it because it felt very powerful.. but comparing it to my other clippers now, it sounds and feels pretty weak in the hand.
It still cuts, but I feel like it takes more work these days compared to when it was new.
It’s not an expensive clipper but 3 months is a pretty short life span. Is yours losing power noticeably?
I haven’t use them my n a few months bc I forgot them at a friends shop

Hi! Very good video! I'm analysing some products to use at home and I believe everyone expects a product to come ready to use. I don't know how to change the blades... never did it before! Knockoffs? Hell, yeah. But what does that tell you about the Wahl's of the world? It tells you that in this day and age, they have no right to charge you 4 times the price of another brand that delivers the same benefits and attributes. It tells you the other 75% of the price goes to support Wahl's (or their distributors) greed. The difference goes to compensate Wahl's research and development costs, you say? Puh-lease. The technology in these clippers have been around for ages and there's no copyright on any R&D anymore. And, honestly, how much intellectual property is there left in clippers which essentially have been around for decades unchanged? I say let the likes of Kemei and Surker undercut (no pun intended) the hell out of the Wahl's of the world.

Yes they are 18650, change them out to 20a Sony battery it will last longer most clippers out there.

How would these compare to the Wahl magic clip cordless (after you have changed their blades)?
From what i read on reddit, these are pretty good, but they still arnt as good as the wahl magic clip/1919. The difference is the blades and the battery, but the bottom line is that barbers always seem to prefer the wahl and keep the kemei as backup, even after changing their blades, so im curious was to what you personally have experienced using these clippers. Thanks!
They are closer to the 1919 then the magic clips and I’ll just say this I use them everyday

I got duped on mecari for some fake Wahl 1919s. The price was premium but got my money back by disputing it. I'm not gonna lie though the replicas are solid. As solid as the real ones which I do have now. But if I'm going to pay for replicas I want the replica price. I'm going for these kemeis and throwing my magic clip blades on there.
I worked for a Chinese CCTV manufacturer recently for 5 years. Where do y'all think all your surveillance equipment is manufactured from? From Adt to flir you name it. It comes from Dahua, or Hikvision. The moral of the story is that China is making some good ass shit for a price that all these top manufacturers can't compete with.

why you need to change the blade
many Reviewers said that the km 1996 blade is far more better than 1986 cuse 1986 blade gets really hot after 10 minutes of usage

For me I like the 86 better
I can see that the inner blade is not square with top of the body/case so it sits crooked, and can't be adjusted. Do you find this to be a problem? Thanks

and for the time being I cant find a better Clipper except Kemei KM-9350 which I don't like the copper look of it, but has 300 minute working and 180 minute charging time which is CRAZY, alongside 8 guide combs AND AN INDICATOR..

@@HarryCallahan72 I ended up paying USD4 for a set of 8 combs from China. The locking tab on my 3D-printed PLA combs were not flexible enough and kept breaking. I'll have to try ABS, PETG, and nylon.
@@pequodexpress Something missing from the Chinese combs is the tapered ear comb (left+right). I find that quite useful for my self cut. Wahl provide them with just about all home kits but otherwise hard to get affordably.

Just received my 1996. Quick question, when I push all the way up to the last click, the blade seems to be at 0. Then when I down click 1 time, the blade doesn't seem to move at all, it only move when I down click twice. Is yours the same?

Nice video bro, comparing the spec of kemei 1986 and 1996. I found out that 1996 is 20watts while 1986 is 8watt. Does that mean 1996

is it just me or do these clippers sound like the motor is weak? i used them yesterday the kemei 1996/1997 and it cut thru the bulk effortlessly but it sounded kinda weak, is that just me? i guess it doesnt matter since it easily cut the bulk

hey sorry to bother i took apart my kemei 1996/1997 to clean hairs inside the head area and i didnt lose anything or break anything but i noticed now it only clicks 3 times. i took it apart and put it back together but the lever still only clicks 3 times. i was pretty confident it clicked 4 times normally before i opened. do you know what i maybe did wrong or why this happened? or does a stock one only click 3 times? thx!!
I don’t know but it should be 4 clicks
@@premiercutts22 nvm i took it apart and figured it out thanks. the ball can click into only 3 spots but there are 4 spots in total. so the 1st setting would be no click cuz its always there. 2nd setting is first click. 3rd setting is 2nd click. and 4th setting is 3rd click.

I noticed 1996 has much better sales on AliExpress than 1986. Do you think it is just because of design or kemei has improved the quality of blades on the 96 model? Now, in April 2020, what model of hair clipper you would recommend to buy on Ali? Is there anything better 1986 and have you ever tried Enchen by Xiaomi? -)
A lot of people definitely like the 96 design over the 86 but for me the 86 are far more superior great battery life outstanding bill quality and a ready cut blade

I watched your video for the Surker K7S and I believe the Kemei KM 1977 is very similar except for the lcd screen. I ordered one and hopefully I don't need to change the blade on mine. It is only to cut my hair at home.
