No joke, I play a lot of VR games with a swivel chair because it actually feels way better to use my feet to rotate my body/head so it kinda makes sense that there would be a chair designed to do this. Especially since airlink got so much better
This feels like a product in the search of a problem, to me if I'm in a game requiring a lot of turning such as onward or other fps i don't want to have my body in the same direction of my head and a lot of times will be searching my surroundings but moving straight as we do in real life. When you cross a street, you have your head on a swivel looking side to side while walking forward.
The true wolfs identity is freaking awesome great to see the man himself behind the quest goggles, your still my favourite vr youtuber of all time. I'll always be part of the wolf pack from UK 🇬🇧
I've found saddle chars to be best ones for VR. You can adjust the height to near standing position in some saddle chairs. Some even have small detachable backrest if needed. Why use them instead of standing? Well simply, on chair you stay in 1 place. When you are standing and spinning around in VR in small space, you will move around and might end up hitting furniture etc. it's also really easy to get up from the chair when needed. Sitting down is bit harder than on normal chair tho. It also helps with your posture and you can feel that during long gameplay sessions. I don't own saddle chair but definitely want to buy one when possible.
Excellent review, Wolf! This is definitely a novel idea with a novel price tag, like most peripherals for VR. If the use case were to eliminate/reduce motion sickness via turning while seated, I think they are definitely on the right track for that but, as you mentioned, the accelleration will need to get smoother. Imagine running on a treadmill full speed and the treadmill full stops without decellerating. Yikes. The price tag honestly seems about right for the audience they are aiming for. It's a niche within a niche.
What if you want to look to the side while walking forward? Say taking a glance to the side for example, also turning quickly in combat games won't be possible without a seatbelt, it seems it could be more a hinderance than helpful. Makes me wonder if people are getting to a point where using a joystick is now too much effort :)
This chair could be really cool for certain things. I'm currently playing the mech combat game called iron Rebellion and something like this would be really dope for it.
Look I like wolf also but I’m not gonna pay to watch him lol also by saying you’ve been here since the beginning just means you have been giving him money for a long time so I’m sure he enjoys that. I love how no one realizes that everyone of these people are making mad money by you paying for subs and watching his vids and all that. They are all soo thankful cuz you are losing money while they make a shit ton… social media has rot the brain of humanity and our future is extremely bleak if everyone is just a follower now who will lead besides the crazy Nazis in America? No one realizes the racists aren’t sitting at home paying RUclipsrs money they are preparing to prolly attack on Jan 6 again for Trump so real world affairs matter far more than a stupid chair that’s sooo overpriced it’s mind blowing. When you go im here since the beginning that’s good then people know who the biggest sheep is. Kind of sad people think RUclipsrs are celebrities and they only take and don’t give back..
I guess it depends? I get motion sickness when I'm playing a fast moving game but my body stays still, and it gets fixed when I stand up and move around just a bit.
My biggest concern is that I'll want to walk forward and look around and I'll either be fighting it with the stick the whole time or I'll be swerving all about
So to next step, make a harness that suspends keep the system. Have have it, rotate the person and have them be able to freely move their legs and it will tell how fast they're moving them. And whether or not they're side stepping. Combine that with actual tracking on your feet and there you go. Also, crouch is just a button. There is no crouch.
Still using the frankenstein mod, I used it for years (since quest1). However once I tried the kiwi battery strap, I said bye bye to the DAS, it is much more comfortable in my opinion.
I exclusively play VR games using an Ikea bar stool. You know, the white ones. The only difference I can see with this chair is that you don't have to spin yourself, which is actually one of the reasons I love the barstool.
I watched that part where your comparing it to an office chair and yeah that's no way to play. Office chairs are too low and the effort required it way to high to rotate. A barstool is totally different. Firstly it's higher up to the point where only the front of your feet actually touch the ground. Your thighs are pointed downwards almost like you are kind of standing. Turning and stopping requires literally zero effort and I can do a full 360 with just a small push off of one foot.
when several creators drop "review" videos within a couple of days of each other, it's not an accident, it's an advertisement, not a real review. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Never have I wanted to move my body by looking around. Dud we need more ways to increase nausea in VR... particularly in a way that could easily be a software option. This chair can sit on it and rotate...
Hey Wolf please tell me you’re gonna do a Meta Quest Four Unboxing like you did with the three I love your videos Edit: The Quest 4 is coming out in the year 2026 or 2027
Can you please review a game call supershop simulator just been released been on it for an hour or so really interesting if you like stacking shelves, stopping thevies and making money keep up the good work wolf
I would try to put that puck on a steering wheel for racing games but wouldn't use it otherwise. I want to be able to look with my head without turning.
This seems like exactly what you *don't* want in VR. Turning isn't a problem. To turn you just... turn. That's a big part of what makes it feel real. It's one-to-one with what you're physically doing. Going from just turning around naturally to having my neck movements translated into a spinning chair...? I don't get it.
So yeah I don't want my body to turn when I turn my head, I want to look around and would like something that would work with SteamVR so that I can control when I turn that would be much better. But like an 8-hundo spinny chair just isn't getting me to go Oh Gee got get that
This would be cool for CERTAIN things, but it would be better attached to an in game action/position, not to anything in the real world. Think turning in a mech or any other vehicle. The list of use cases are probably a bit too short for 800 dollar.
It looks like a great product but I fear it will make users couch potatoes. Other forms of VR mobility like VR treadmills allow users to exercise while gaming. This will have you just sit.
No joke, I play a lot of VR games with a swivel chair because it actually feels way better to use my feet to rotate my body/head so it kinda makes sense that there would be a chair designed to do this. Especially since airlink got so much better
Wolf has turned into Professor Xavier
WE MUST MAKE HIM BALD

He did a face reveal on 2020 how did you not know this
@@BotBot-k7e I’m a new fan

One youtube solved this by putting the tracker on his shirt.

Use a bar stool or a desk chair with no arms. Way cheaper
This ☝️
When I first saw it I thought it was a armless chair stuck to a roomba.
5:31 He talks about that exact thing lol.
I quite enjoyed your trusty assistant spinning you around. Wish it had been longer. 🤣
Good to see the face behind the voice
Usually they look totally different but he looks like his voice, friendly and funny. Lol😂
LOVE the bloopers at the end!
I don't have vr but I would just use the chair to do the evil villain chair swivel
wolf, my head whips that quick normally, And you have WAY better VRegs than me XD the stopping demo(9:28 as of writing) great vid btws
This chair could be really cool for certain things. I'm currently playing the mech combat game called iron Rebellion and something like this would be really dope for it.
This seems good for accessibility, but otherwise I don’t see the point. Thanks for the review, especially the bloopers. 😂

Thanks for the bloopers!
The blooper reel was amazing 😂
He looks like every peppy school counselor
That looks like something that would give ppl without motion sickness INTENSE motion sickness. It's doing exactly all the things that would trigger it
I guess it depends? I get motion sickness when I'm playing a fast moving game but my body stays still, and it gets fixed when I stand up and move around just a bit.
I thought wolf was like 20 or something. That voice sure is smooth
It’s like that head locomotion in FPS games instead it’s literal.
"You'll see this big little box here."
Hehe
Best RUclipsr❤🎉
omg he is not a wolf he lied
I thought Same thing 👍
@@danutonica5315 nice
Scammed. Bamboozled.
@@TehUltimateSnake so funny man
Well, he only claimed to be a wolf in VR, not irl. 😉
I'm one of those people who prefers to play standing and turn mostly physically. Also prefer physically crouching over pressing a button to do so.

could we see a game played with this?
this chair would be so great with a game where you are a gunner.
5:35 So whos the assistant then. Face reveal possible for the future?
LOL THE RUMBLE PACK WHAT DID THEY ASK NINTENDO FOR ALL THE N64 Rumble Packs and just remodeled them and attached them to a chair lmao!

I was gonna say, lol. I have a swivel barstool from the 70s, and it does most of these things, and I got it for 10 dollars at a thrift shop.
On other words: a more affordable Yaw VR chair!
I like the new panels on your wall. Where did you get those?
when several creators drop "review" videos within a couple of days of each other, it's not an accident, it's an advertisement, not a real review. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Apart from the bits where he points out the flaws and states it could give you nausea. I’m not sure any company would consider that an advertisement.
"Are you not getting motion sickness fast enough? Let us help"
Would be great if it was a standing one something like master chief armor assembly rack 😂😂
Are y’all really fans bc this is not the first time we seen wolf😂

Just a good padded adjustable desk stool for like $90 makes more sense

Wolf I see your grey hairs coming in
Thats cool but i hope infinadeck have soon a consumer version of there vr accesoir
I think if the chair had sides to keep you safe it would be easiesr
🔥🔥🔥
so now just add foot pedals for forward & backward so no need for joystick moving anymore
good video jeff
Wolfpack, do you wanna play the first level in bone lab?
That might be good for fnaf vr
id get so motion sick, im getting motion sick just thinking about it

hehe.. already have a chair that turns when i turn in VR .. my way cheaper office chair.
Where do you pit the puck on a bobo halo headset?
I would try to put that puck on a steering wheel for racing games but wouldn't use it otherwise. I want to be able to look with my head without turning.
So what happens when you want to run forward, but look around you at the same time?
They should really add a seat belt just in case you Fall off
W game changer
So it's mainly for convenience. An interesting innovation, I'm curious who would actually buy this 🤔
Now do all the I expect you to die series in the chair
What's the headstrap you're using for the quest 3?
Look at the meta-quest three unboxing and wait until he shows the meta quest two and on the two that’s the head strap he’s using for the quest three
