      Remember playing that song to a now former friend of mine, after Bumpy's first verse, he rewound it back.. Was with my mother in the car and "what A Man" was on the radio and I told her that "a guy named Bumpy Knuckles wrote this" and she changed the station, lmao.. Could be wrong about him writing that particular song though.

    Does people realize the talent that Strong Island NY spit out during the Golden Era of Hip Hop and the impact we had on that era. Freddie Foxx aka Bumpy Knuckles Rakim Public Enemy Dela Soul Biz Markie EPMD Keith Murray Method Man Leaders of The New School K Solo Buster Rhymes RA the Rugged Man MF Doom JVC Force Soul for Real Ashanti Groove B Chill Doctor Dre from To MTV Raps Prince Paul from Stesasonic A Plus Money Harm and Sincere from Ghetto and Blues Craig Mack may he rest in peace and Prodigy from Moob Deep may he rest in peace. People from the Boros frowned upon Long Island but they can't front all these acts showed the 5 Boros and the rest of the country the only Island we were on was the strong One and in my estimation Long Island had the Golden Era of Hip Hop on smash for a minute with all this fire we spit out. Big up Nassau County and Suffolk County Long Island my home and the home of another Strong Island alumni Freedie Foxx.

      Thanks my brother, Wesley for the response. It's great to know
      another cat knows his Hip Hop History. And man did you run it down. Long Island has some of the best do EVER do it. I'm talking about Iconic. In hip hop ex. Public Enemy (one of the best rap groups of all time/ Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees), Legendary producers -The Bomb Squad, Wyandanch's own, the God MC, Rakim (my favorite), Bumpy Knuckles (goon and dope ass lyricist), De La Soul (check out dj Maseo on the Boiler Room on RUclips. One of the best sets I've ever seen and heard. Should've been in front of 100k people), EPMD ( one of hip hops best duos and Erick Sermon being an all time great producer as well. Can't forget about my man Biz Markie. (Just a few, too many to name). Eddie Murphy, Julius " Dr. J" Irvin are just two in other areas of entertainment. Like i said, Iconic. These and others have set the world on 🔥. We know what it is. "They" can front all they want. The mark has been made. All the best to you and your family, my bro. Peace!
      P.S. Roc Marci is a MONSTER!

    I have to agree with bumpy on that the best hip hop era was from 92/3 to 98/99 or maybe 2000 after that it started getting watered down and b4 that it was like kinda disco rap with tight leather pants and shit, hip hop was perfected in the mid 90’s! 😎

    • @grapograc
      @grapograc 5 лет назад

      2000? lol... You're just young if you think that era even comes into play. You think the G-Unit / Dipset / Late Jay-Z era fucks with the early - mid 90's? C'mon man.
      95 alone > all of the 2000's: OB4CL, Liquid Swords, The Infamous, E. 1999 Eternal, Lifestylez of the Poor.., Me Against the World, 4,5,6. That's not even really touching the West Coast or the South. We're talking, In A Major Way, I Hate You With A Passion, Dogg Food, Season of Da Siccness, Cocktails.
      THIS IS JUST 1995.
      1996: It Was Written, Reasonable Doubt, All Eyez on Me, Makavelli (7 Day Theory), The Score, Hell on Earth, Muddy Waters, Ridin Dirty, etc...
      The 90's were just insane for hiphop.

      @@grapograc No doubt, I think 95-96 Hip Hop had its peak. Judging it by all angles. Gang Star Foundation, DITC dudes , Wu-Tang + all tha WestCoast yes.
      And those super rare but great albums of Real Live, Double X Posse, Smooth Da Hustler , Blahzay Blahzay ....
