Wow I’m highly impressed I have spent about two hrs looking for connected letters that would cut perfectly with my glowforge. Dude you are a life saver. I see that you posted this video two years ago and it’s still helping people thank you!!!!
This video, your teaching style, and energy are wonderful! Thank you for taking the time to put this information together in a way that's easy to understand. Keep up the great content!
OMG, thanks. Female, 81, and creating cutouts using a laser. I have been wanting to learn how to connect text for doing letters. This tutorial is spot on!
HL - I am an elementary teacher that just got a Glowforge and am bumbling my way through learning this. I'm certain my students will pick it up much quicker than I am. Thanks for your video!
Super cool that you got a glowforge! If you want to reach out via email, I’ll happily share with you how are use mine in the classroom. It’s simply hlmodtech Gmail
I’ve been searching for an Inkscape instructor for Glowforge. I find went to UDEMY and found a guy whose course I paid for. He was horrible. You’re good at this. You should offer a complete paid for course. I’d buy it.
I appreciate the kind words. Maybe someday when I retire from full time teaching I will do that. In the meantime, if you have a topic you are interested in, drop me a line. If I have time I will whip up a vid about it. 👍
Thank you very much for making this video. I struggled trying to figure out how to get my glowforge to read my text. I stumbled across this video and it definitely helped me a lot!
I was just doing a cut on that one. I’ve got a video about engraving for yes, I do have the separate set of lines. The sun is not built for that I just wanted to cut out the letters.
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a K40 laser arriving soon and thought I would start learning how to design things before it arrives. I was finding it so hard to create strokes around the fonts. Until that was after numerous video watching I found yours. great work, thanks again, greetings from over the pond!
@@HLModTech glad to hear it. Already designed my first clock idea vector cut using what I have learned from you! Next thing I need to work out combining the rastor and vector engraving with the vector cuts. Honestly thanks again. Keep up the great videos.

Thank a MILLION!!!! That was sooo helpful!!!!
Glad it helped!
What about the dot on the i? How do you handle connecting that? Thanks! Great video.
It ends up being a separate piece. I have to make sure I find it after I cut it... Sometimes that can be a pain when they are small.
Thank you. Very helpful
You're welcome!
Thank you, I subscribed :)
Thanks for subbing! I appreciate it. If you ever have questions, let me know.
Great video. Just one question. Do we need to select a different color for the outline to let the glow forge know it is a cut and not engrave?
I was just doing a cut on that one. I’ve got a video about engraving for yes, I do have the separate set of lines. The sun is not built for that I just wanted to cut out the letters.
What is happening to the dot on the i when it cuts on the laser? It is not connected?
I glued them on separately. Since they are not connected in real life... I cannot think of a way to work with i's or j's differently.

Thanks!
