A classic cinema advert from 1936 for the Ford V8 range of cars, with happy singing, lovely English scenery and a real "pleasures of motoring" feel, sung by Gordon Little
What a class act. Back when the world was a far more beautiful place than today. And being British - style without any ostentation. Appears made to be shown in Cinemas.
Producer: I've got the perfect guy to sing this song. Director: Lot of R's in this one. Can he pronounce the letter R? Producer: What kind of question is that? Singer: "...to the withym of the woad!!" Producer:
Came from James May's Cars of the People. I loved the song in the credits so much I decided to search for it.
We're glad you enjoyed it. Of course the 1936 film came first! It's a proper ear-worm.
Me too!!
James May: This was pre "pah pah pah pah" obviously.
😂🤣😂🤣
Wonderfully optimistic & period advertisement, wonderful orchestration and memorable melody - ' you'll never be late if it's a V8 ' - great stuff !.

Brilliant better than dreary jelly mould SUV Chelsea tractor car ads today.
Such optimism in the later 1930s. Ford V8 was a superb car for its time.
This advertisement was for the 1936 Ford V8 and was one of the finest Ford cars ever built during the Lincoln Zephyr years.. Great commercial....
What a GEM! Thank you for uploading this memory for the rest of us! =)
Lovely sounding band! :-)
Thank you so much for uploading this, it's a joy to listen to!
Absolutely brilliant
Back when folks actually cared and stuff was mostly genuine
