In this video, you'll learn how to install the Cisco IM & Presence (IM&P) Server (sometimes called a "Cisco Unified Presence" or "CUP" Server). The installation will build on three prior videos, where we installed a VMware ESXi server, a Cisco Cloud Services Router (CSR 1000v), and a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) Server.

Thanks for the video. I have set up the DNS server as you mentioned. But Jabber login giving me an error like "Cannot communicate with the server. Reset Cisco Jabber to continue". ????

Great vid but the confusing point for me is when you created a separate user/phone entity for Jabber. Is there no way to simply create one user/phone entity that can be used for both phone calls and jabber IM/calls? Like if I had a user Joe Smith who has a phone and jabber client, does he have two user accounts and two phone accounts?

Hey Kevin, Nice video!! Would be nice to add few minutes about VM requirement from IMP Compatibility Matrix. This would relate a little bit more when you start with the configuration of a VM. But overall the video is very informative.

26:00 i can’t Login at all , i have done Tshoot in many ways, it keeps writing Failed on login, when i login through the CLI its successful but in GUI its not working . I have removed password inactivity and did a little Tshoot again nothing. Please Help!

Hello Kevin, great job. I have a question about subcluster. I install 2 CUCM (pub and sub) and 2 IMandP(pub and sub) version 11.5. But high availability is not working, what's wrong? It seems to IMandP pub doesn't connect to CUCM publisher. Help me please) or record the video when you installing 2 CUCM servers and 2 IMand servers, and combine it to cluster, I haven't found this anywhere. Thanks!

Hi Kevin, I was able to integrate IMP with ldap, all steps seemed to be configured properly, Jabber still giving me incorrect username.
Check logs in local app data folder if on Windows.

in the cisco Software download page , there are two types of software (.OVA and Locale),what are we going to use when needed to install in ESXi environment?
You’ll want the .OVA file. All the best!
@@kwallaceccie but they are soo small , most of them less than 1MB , as far as software it should be more than that maybe 1GB
Interesting. I agree it wouldn’t be that small. Personally, I use ISO files purchased from Cisco’s Not-For-Resell Program, and they’re about 4 GB. I suggest asking your question in the CLN Collaboration group.
awsome video, i have a question here, what is the username and password of im and presence server do you use?
i saw that you just input once, with username : administrator, is it the same thing username with CUCM server?
Thanks! The login credentials are chosen during the installation. So, there isn’t really a default username or password.
Hi Kevin. I'm trying to install the IM&P server and have the 11.0.1.ISO file but no 12.0.1 ISO file. Also there was no option on Cisco's site to download it. It only has the CUP 12.0.1 recovery ISO.
Any pointers on how to install IM&P to 12.0.1? The Cisco installation guide's are not very helpfull for this in particular. Thanks
@@kwallaceccie I did watch it. But had no access to a reseller of sorts myself. I have a copy of the 12.0.1 ISO file now through a colleague which had prior access and kept a copy on his personal. Thanks!

I tried to find version 12 but it seems it is not available but I have downloaded v11.5 iso instead.

@@kwallaceccie i tried now, using v11.5 for this while my cucm is v12 validation failed. I get error message "does not match the version"...i need to get a copy of v12, otherwise i have to downgrade my cucm.
