- "A Week in My Single Life as a 40+ Year Old Nomad in Panama City"
Take a glimpse into my everyday life as a 40+ digital nomad living solo in Panama City! This week, I balanced self-care, routines, and reflection-getting braids done, grocery shopping, working out in the park, and exploring malls.
Life abroad isn’t always glamorous, but it’s full of growth and discovery. If you’re curious about living in Panama or life as a digital nomad, this vlog is for you!

Girl, you've got this and your intuition is your compass. I'll be 66 this coming Sat and I've traveled on and off for 40+ years. I've lived in MA, CT, VT, NH, NC, FL, WI, AZ, NM, Vegas. I've driven cross country in the US 6x with just my dog. I lived in Mexico City and am now in Europe. The past six years alone I've lived in three different countries and getting ready for Panama in a couple months. We all have a different North Star. For some it is to stay put and focus on our career, spouse, family whatever we choose. For others it is wanderlust that calls us. Whatever we choose is right for us. It really excites me to see so many women finally stepping onto their own path. When I started doing all this there was no internet no examples of other women to follow. It's just what I needed to do. Listen to your intuition, follow your heart and be blessed along your journey. As long as we still draw breath it is still obtainable. ❤👏🏼
Yesss! I love this! You’ve been all over! I want to be like you! Panama is just one of a few countries I want to try living before I make my decision to sit still for a while. My intuition tells me to keep exploring! Thanks for watching!
I agree with all of this! Explore Life however works for you. Absolutely!
Happy early birthday! Enjoy your travels!
@IntrovertRoamsFree - Sister 👑 Queen you are doing the dand thang!!! I am here in Panama City, too. What is the name of that park with the trail you all were at? And can I please get the name of the Salon that did your braids. I've been here since 8 Jan 25. Just got my place. Thanks!!
By the way your braids look totally Awesome!
@ Thanks! 😊
I'm currently I'm Panama in an area called Coronado. I'm loving it. I'm surprised at the number of Black single women living here.

Thank you for this! PC is a city I’m considering relocating to, and all your on-the-street footage is so helpful 💕🫶🏻
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
You can also find braiding hair at a place called inocense hair,in los pueblos or el Dorado mall
I will keep that in mind. Thanks!
Hi! Chi-town born and raised! I’ll be visiting Panama next month!

Nice job with the high protein breakfast and eating outside. Great habit.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing. And encouraging us single women over 40 to travel and seek a better life in another country. Hairdressers in this country are so expensive and then they add a gloss or foils or something and they charge another hundred dollars I Hair Dresser was costing me $400 a month and then I just order my color from Esalon and they mix it and it’s easy to apply But I’d rather go to someone less work.

I don't generally like "day in the life" type videos, but this was very informative. Being single and considering PC, it gave me a good view from yout perspective. Thanks💚

OMG, I love the view from your place. Good for you, traveling on your own! I'm 50 and do it all the time. I'm still working but manage to have short getaways here and there in between the month-long stays somewhere abroad. I love it. Thanks for sharing.

This is great. I’m alone now too and want to live in Panama someday soon. It’s scary to think of being alone in a new country .
It is scary! But once you start exploring and making connections, it won't be as scary. Thanks for watching!
Same here
It would be interesting to see the prices of food items you are buying at the supermarket. The price of eggs herein the US has skyrocketed!
Relaxing video. Glad to see you enjoying life.
Do you plan to go over monthly costs in USD?
Thanks! Yes that can be a future video.
I'm Panamanian living in Indiana. Dreaming to go back to Panama for good, but I need wait to get my time. Is hard be single, no carrier at all, working labor and no getting enough to survive. I'm living with my son family for first time, until I find a job. Love your apartment, how much?.
You doing great.
You’re managing well out there! 😊

@IntrovertRoamsFree I'm trying bring Texas BBQ on the beach here nice prices here for beachfront property when I finish would like to invite you
I randomly came across your video last night but fell asleep before I could post lol. I was born in Houston, have lived in Arizona for nearly 20 years and my step sis is a psychotherapist who has been living in downtown Chicago for many years. I was led to come back here to say 1st of all there's no way you're 40, your natural hair is beautiful and Im an outgoing person who enjoys her solitude and personal space 😆. But for some reason your video calmed me because there was more showing and doing than talking. I dont tell all of my business or talk excessively but Im not all that shy either so thank you for the calmness in this video.
Ive been in country for nearly a month now and just moved in closer to the city for another couple of weeks in the Bella Vista/El Cangrejo area. Cafe Lavonda looks 😋. Is it a place you can vouch for overall or was that a random stop? Thanks for the insight, be blessed and stay encouraged to keep sharing your vlogs ☺️🙏🏽!
@@musiclovr9209 I appreciate your kind words! 😊 I’m glad the video calmed you. Cafe Lavanda is nice! It was a random stop but we went back afterwards LOL Thanks for watching!
@IntrovertRoamsFree thanks for the feedback; I'll put it on my list of places to check out. Ive been here for nearly a month now but decided to integrate with local culture 1st versus hitting a bunch of touristy spots. Its been interesting but Im moving with intention 😏✨️.

currently in Panama myself, Not sure how to describe the experience thus far but the place is very beautiful. Can you share details about the braider you found as I am struggling to find one lol
It is definitely an adjustment! I will put the braider’s info in the description. She is an expat too. Thanks for watching!
I finally made it to Panama and I love it! Would you mind sharing the address of the nail salon that you went to? When I did a search it said salon instead of studio. I had the worst pedicure of my life at the Multiplaza Mall yesterday. No water was involved and my feet were cold. Paper towels instead of towels. I can't even begin to tell you how tortured I was. Also could you tell me how long the pedicure lasted? Sorry for all the questions but you just had to be there. Thanks so much!
Oh no! Sorry to hear that! I like Pro Nails. They have different pedicures to choose from that are close to what we can get back in the states. The location is in Midtown Plaza. It lasted about 40 minutes. I will post the link in the description. Thanks for watching!
@@IntrovertRoamsFree Thank you so much, sis! I can't wait to go. You helped another introvert out of her shell. I don't want to go back to the States. Instead of being depressed about returning, I will take the steps necessary for temporary citizenship. That will keep me positive. Congrats on your 1,000 subscribers.

Sincerely wondering how an introvert sustains themselves. I feel like I'm becoming an introvert 🤷🏽♀️. I don't know if I like it... but I feel like it's slowly happening. I'm desperately wondering how to figure out what to do as an introvert because I definitely would not see myself starting a RUclips channel which is what seems like everybody who moves abroad, does.
@@LS-gy9bq I totally get this! As an introvert, sustaining myself is all about doing work that lets me maintain my energy and honor my introversion while still making a living. There are plenty of ways to thrive as an introvert that don’t involve being in the spotlight. I just stepped completely out of my comfort zone with RUclips! I’d say start by exploring what you genuinely enjoy and see how that could transition into remote work-there are so many options out there! Good luck! 😊
@IntrovertRoamsFree Thanks for the advice ‼️
I want this peaceful life to find me so bad 😊. What’s a digital nomad? Is that someone who works for his or herself ?

How much do you typically spend on Uber a week? What kind of online job do you have?.. I work in the medical field/ dialysis... would love to have an online job i can take anywhere.

How much do you pay for the taxi ride? In Colon we pay $.60 for one person and $1.20 for two people nd the local bus is $.70

What park are you walking in?
@@TamaraNJones Parque Omar
145.😮😮?? Wow nope!! You can get girls on the neighborhood even in some small salons that will doit for 35/40 bocks 😮does braids are cute , but you cut have pay abt $40 , not more than 50.00 because of the length,😮.
Can I ask what type of business you have that allow so much flexibility?
What kind of work do you do, if I may ask? And if you need hair products for afro hair texture, just ask a black Panamenian.
I work in the wellness field. Thanks for watching!
4:01 I'm not understanding why you didn't say what business you have that you're able to run independently. Wouldn't you know that a lot of people watching your video or very interested because they need to figure out if they could do the same thing???😏
@@LS-gy9bq Great question! My business came from five years of education and training before I was even eligible to transition it remotely. So it’s not something that happens quickly. There are so many ways to make money online, and what works for me might not work for everyone. But if people are interested in learning more about different ways to work remotely, that could be a future video topic! Thanks for watching!
@IntrovertRoamsFree okayyyy I guess the business is a secret since you clearly don't want to say what it is 😂 (training and education notwithstanding).
