Hi Graham, I have just watched the two newest videos of the trucks going around the road. I must admit it gets my blood boiling when narrow minded people moan about what you do. How on earth are to to see how the trucks perform without trial and error. For goodness sake can't they see your bringing something new to the model railway. I find it fascinating how the trucks work and the way they go around the roadway. You even mentioned about the station canopy, the small trees. What on earth do people want. To me who I have said before I don't have a model railway, you bring fascinating and new things to yours and create a small working little world in which I myself I can imagine I could even be on the highstreet or on the station platform. To me your a very clever man with a skill for detail. How many railway layouts have moving buses, trucks, lifts. It's your model railway not anybody else's. Do things that make you feel good. Heaven knows you and your wife have had a tough few years. Keep your mojo going now you have got it back and don't let the narrow minded people get you down. All the love from the Mennell family from County Durham.
Thank you so much for those wonderful kind words Gary and I’m sorry for the late reply but I am taken aback with the number of comments I have received on this video, I’m trying my best to get through them all. I’m not letting them get me down by the silly negative comments about things that didn’t really matter on this occasion, I just get a little angry at some folk who criticise something so small and unimportant in comparison to what the video was really about, which was to see if the trucks could take the two sharp corners at each end of the roadway. But hey Ho, rant over and I feel better for it having pointed out to them what really was of absolute no importance to me. Onwards and upwards as they say and so the next task will be to complete another section of the canal - wait for the comments coming in on that video from the model canal police - I’m going to get slaughtered with all that will be wrong with it - to be honest I find it all funny these days as I know what’s coming and from who too! 😂😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
You keep doing it your way Graham, it's your layout. Continue enjoying what you do and ignore the clowns who always know better. Leave them to do their own thing on their layouts, that is if they even one ! I am very sure that all your true followers enjoy you sharing what you post. Thanks, Clive.
Hi Clive and thank you for the kind comment, it’s a shame that a very small number of folk love pointing out the tiny things that are wrong but don’t contribute to the larger point of the video, but as I said in this video, it’s the way of the world and RUclips and Facebook in particular. I’m big enough and ugly enough not to let it bother me although I do get angry at some of the unnecessary comments which get posted - all over with now though. 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham 👍 you keep doing what you do. I’ve had the same in the past but I always reply with a sarcastic answer. I have the upmost respect for your modelling and videos and all I can say is a big thank you for sharing what you do as I’ve learned so much off your good self over the years. All the best to you and Hazel. Andy
Hi Andy and many thanks for your kind comment. I mostly try to not respond like I did on this video but sometimes I just can’t help myself and have to let rip so to speak. The comments in question were just too much for me not to reply to especially when the whole point was to just see if the truck and trailer would go around the circuit without any issues - I wasn’t bothered particularly about anything else. But never mind, it’s all history now. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham please don't let them small minded people get you down, those that follow you as railway modellers know the true amount of time and effort you but into your wonderful and interesting videos. Please enjoy the rest of your weekend take care and regards to you and your wife Hazel, Barry...👍
They don’t get me down anymore Barry, I just get a little angry with them but that soon passes like it has done now now that I’ve got it off my chest then I feel better for it - until the next time which I’m sure as sure as eggs are eggs then it will !! 😂😂. Then they will get another rant, it makes me feel better that I can have some form of reply to them. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hey Graham, I'm over in Canada and usually I follow North American railroads. However, in the last year I have been following alot of British Model Railway Channels, such as yourself. Your layout is incredible and your work, details, etc are outstanding. Enjoy what you do, and ignore the negativity. These people are jealous and petty. Don't let it get to you and don't let them steal your joy. Keep in mind they are a minority, where as people such as myself, who enjoy your work and don't leave comments are the vast majority. Take care and happy model railroading.
Hi Garnet and many thanks for your kind comment, it’s greatly appreciated sir. The negative comments certainly don’t kill my joy for this wonderful hobby, I’m well over that little rant I had, but I just had to get it off my chest that’s all - normal precedings are resumed! 😂. Take care and once again, thank you. Cheers. ………..Graham
Tell those negs to stick it where the sun don’t shine, your work is awesome and inspiring and I love showing my daughters and friends your videos, keep going !!
Hi Graham. As with the layout and everything else on it, it’s trial and error. So far I am impressed with your work and your dedication to modelling. You inspired myself and many others to carry on with modelling. Take no notice mate, regards Dave.
Hi Dave and thank you for the kind comment. It’s no big deal as far as I’m concerned, I’ve had many negative comments over the years so I’m used to it and they certainly don’t put me off from what I’m doing or want to do but just every now and again, I like to show them up for what they are by have a little rant about them. Nothing wrong with that. It’s my way of a form of reply which I’m entitled to do so no problems here, I will carry on as per normal. 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Graham, I love what you have achieved with your layout. If my comment about the van upset you I apologise for that. I saw it as something that happens in real life where large vehicles sometimes clip badly parked vehicles. Thank you for all you do.
Hi Michael and thank you for the comment, it’s all over and done with now mate, you were not the only one to comment on that little accident but hopefully I have explained why it happened and showed that it doesn’t happen now. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham all I can say is thank you and how much I enjoy your videos. Please continue them for us the silent majority. You take care unfortunately a very small number of people are miserable ****
Hi mate and thank you for the kind comment, no matter about the negative comments, as long as I’m happy with the end result (which I am) then that’s all what matters. I’m sure their layouts are just perfect including their moving Viessmann vehicles too! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, you are doing an amazing job. People are fast to jump in and be critical, most likely arm chair modellers that not even produced anything like you have here. Great work, Andrew from New Zealand
That’s great news Trevor that I’ve given you hours of enjoyment with these videos, I’m more proud of that than the actual layout so thank you for that! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Graham, you have constructed a really super layout, ignore the negative stuff mate. I really must say your scenery, bushes, trees etc are the best I've seen. Keep up the good work!!
Wow, thank you for that very kind comment Michael, it’s greatly appreciated as always. 99% of the folk who comment appreciate what I’m trying to do but as always, there are a tiny few who insist on trying to be smart and letting me know that there is something wrong. Well they’ve had their say and this little rant was me having my say in reply to them. I don’t let them upset me as such but I will now have folk saying things which are not pertinent to the video, I have given them permission to comment so they must expect me to comment back, to me that’s only fair. Anyway, all over and done with now and I’m caring on as normal enjoying building this layout up how I want. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
I am inclined to think some people are always out to nitpick the tiniest of details. I think it makes the layout look even more realistic to see other vehicles in addition to trains, in motion. I also agree that in real life, trucks do sometimes go up onto a curve when they are turning a corner, especially near to town centers, so yes this does add another sense of realism.
Thank you my friend for the comment, I’m so pleased with these two trucks and how they perform on the existing road, it really brings that road to life again. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Graham. That's brilliant the way you have those trucks running on your layout. I think I will be getting some. Can you tell me what the minimum turning circle that those wagons can take. Really enjoy your videos Thanks
Hi Barry and many thanks for the comment, I can’t tel you precisely what the minimum radius is that they can take but measuring my ones then the absolute minimum appears to be about 6” but that really is tight, if you were going to do something similar then I would aim to go a couple of inches above that if you can, just to make it that little more comfortable to turn. If you do get this system then you can always test a truck out first on a simple test board just to make sure. Hope that helps a little. Cheers. …………Graham
Wow, Graham. Amazing how some folks do not get "proof of concept." All I see is creativity and know-how being put to use, and then adjustments have to be made. All I saw was success in the first video. Oh well, some folks just need to see flaws in a speck of snow. Nothing but the kindest regards and thanks to you from us! Cheers, Anthony & Joyce
Hi Anthony and Joyce and hope that you are both keeping well. It’s a shame that just a few find it necessary to comment needlessly on sometimes the obvious tiny things which are at fault but completely ignore the bigger picture. But hey Ho, that’s just the way some folk are built and there is nothing I can do about their problems - it’s up to them to see their own faults rather than looking for mine. I’m enjoying myself so that’s the main thing. Cheers. ………..Graham
What really surprises me, and it looks wonderful and has really got me thinking - is that these are HO vehicles on an OO layout. I thought the different scales 3.5/4.0mm ft would leave the lorries looking a bit small but, in fact, I can’t tell the difference and I don’t think you would want them any larger.
Hi Tony and thanks for the comment and I know exactly what you mean as regards the size. When I got the first one from GETS I was a little worried that once placed on my road then it would look too small compared to the other vehicles and anything else for that matter but no, they didn’t look too out of place! Cheers. ……….Graham
Love it Graham, had just watched the previous upload and was going to comment that the trailer overriding the pavement was great as it was just like real life as you said here, just makes it even more realistic. Great videos and a great layout all the best.
Thank you for the comment my friend, it’s as always greatly appreciated and glad that you like the video, yes I was going to change that corner to appease the moaning morons but I thought no, sod it, I’m going to leave it - for two reasons really. 1) To make them even more mad and 2) it’s what happens in real life! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham. Your layout is your own and no one elses. My modelling is not up to your standard but if im ok with it what else matters. Great to see your viesmann lorries and i may have some too. Thanks for your demonstrations.
Exactly and I’m with you on that, if I’m happy with what I’m doing then that’s fine by me. I think these Viessmann lorries are great, I just love watching them interacting with each other, very realistic. You won’t be disappointed if you do get some! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Delightful to watch! There is ,in me, a sense of relief every time the rig reappears from behind the buildings! Mind you I get the same feeling when a train comes out of where ever it had disappeared from view like tunnels and such. Great addition to the layout.
Hi Steve and thank you for the comment, I too got a sense of relief when I saw the larger of the truck with a trailer come around the back of the bus station, if it was going to fail then it would be there, luckily for me then it went round there with no problem. Really happy with these two trucks now and adds yet another scene of movement on the layout. I’m looking forward to when Viessmann release their buses as that would really set that high street off! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Well Graham, I had to smile. I have not watched many YT model railway videos over the last few years but popped in to see yours, and surprise, nothing changes. You must have the most critical bunch of armchair experts of all of us. I remember when you introduced me to YT you were battling the same issues 7 years ago!. Chin up, water off a ducks back it should be, enjoy your achievements and know the actual pleasure it gives people like me. Cheers mate, Jerry
Hi Jerry and long time no speak and thank you for the comment. I hope that you are keeping well my friend. Yes, I guess this is a bit like Ground Hog Day! 😂😂. Never mind, at least I have learnt not to throw my toys out of the pram and leave RUclips like I did a few years back - that was a bad move but you live and learn by your mistakes, otherwise you wouldn’t progress. 👍🏻. Anyway, rant is over and done with now, I will just carry on as if nothing has happened like always! 😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Yes there is mate it’s DCC Trainautomation, their website shows all what they have in stock. Link here: www.dcctrainautomation.co.uk/viessmann-car-motion.html Hope that helps. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Steve and thank you for the comment and I’m pleased that I bought a smile to your face after your long day, and you’re right, I can’t please all the folk but I can please most of them - including me which is the important thing! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi mate and they don’t bother me as such, I just get a little annoyed with the small minority of folk who just have to find something negative to comment on rather than seeing the bigger picture. Never mind, I’m happy so that’s all what matters to me. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Colin and thanks for the comment. To be honest, if anything then are would be a little too small as they are HO and not OO but to my eyes, they look a great match to the other vehicles on the layout. I also think that if they were any larger (ie OO) then they certainly wouldn’t go under the station canopy. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham. Thanks so much for the video and all the time you put into helping others find real enjoyment from the hobby. All layouts suffer from some little glitches in the set up stage. Nothing works perfectly the first time. That’s why it’s an evolving hobby. The trucks are quite impressive. It would be nice to “weather” them but do you think this might effect their sensors with any possible overspray?
Hi Richard and thank you for the comment. Yes, I will do a little weathering on the trucks as they do look a little new. I will be dry brushing or using powders so I don’t think there will be any danger in having overspray on the sensors as I won’t be using my airbrush on them. A little masking tape over the sensors will also of course help to protect them. Hope that helps mate. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Mick and thanks for the comment mate, it’s all part and partial of RUclips, I will always get some folk not liking or commenting negatively about something on my channel - got used to it now but sometimes I do have to reply by having a little rant about them, it makes me feel better afterwards which I think I’m entitled to do as I have given them permission to comment in the first place. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham - I haven't commented on your video's for a while but after listening to you talking about some of the comments on the previous video - I'm gobsmacked that anyone would seem to take pleasure in leaving comments of a negative nature. Anyone can see or who has followed your model railway journey will know the time, effort and patience that you have devoted over many years to produce an excellent OO gauge model railway. Anyway the trucks look cracking and the truck going over the pavement edge - just another touch of Fulston magic ! Cheers Euan (sorry I missed you at GETS).
Hi Euan and thank you so much for the comment mate and much appreciated too. I have to take into account that if someone is not feeling great for whatever reason then they may make a disparaging comment rather than a positive comment (a half empty glass rather than a half full glass scenario) while other would just make it anyway, I do understand that but it still gets me angry! 😂. Never mind, it’s all part and partial of the RUclips/Facebook we live in at the moment where folk seem to think they are entitled. Personally, if I don’t like or agree with what someone has done then I just move on to something else without leaving a comment, I just don’t think it’s my place to put a negative comment on someone else video as I won’t ever know the circumstances as to why they have done it and also, it’s none of my business either. Anyway, rant over with and all is ok now, I said my peace but I’m pleased that you are enjoying what I do, thats the main thing. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
mate it's your railway and you do things how you want to,its a lovely railway that looks very smart I dont have one but I'm in awe of your eye for detail and things like how you made your elevator work etc,hey I drove trucks for years and I cut the curb now and then and went over them, keep doing what you doing as its absolutely an amazing set up mate
Blimey, thanks Darrin for that very kind comment mate, it’s really appreciated. I won’t be changing in the corner where the buses and trucks clip the pavement, to me it just adds a bit of fun and realism to that scene - so it stays! 😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham ,Jeremy here…. I have been here with you almost from the start and I commented when you had all the flack about smoking……remember?….I can tell your blood pressure has risen and rightly so the last few days……..I am in total aw and admiration of you and your dedication and commitment to US your u tube viewers. I,d love to see what these armchair critics lay outs if they even have one would look like. I absolutely love the new trucks totally jealous and will look to learn from your experiences to see if I can add to my layout . Don’t let the B**stds grid you down…ever! Silently (mostly) watching and learning and enormously enjoying all that you do Kindest regards Jez
Hi Jez and good to hear from you again and yes, I do remember the episode of me smoking and all the flack I got, funny thing about all that was I couldn’t understand why I got that when there are horrendous videos here on RUclips, social media, TV, films etc and no one bats an eye lid, I am seen smoking which is perfectly legal, especially in my own home and all hell breaks loose - bizarre! Anyway, I’m still smoking so stuff’em as they say and they certainly won’t ever get me down. The trucks are awesome and I just love the way they interact with each other and with the magnets within the road too, such a great idea, I can’t wait for next year when I hope that Viessmann will be producing new products and I hope that one of them will be some form of bus. So keep on watching because I think this roadway will become even more interesting as time goes on. 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. …………..Graham
Thank you Graham, dont give nit pickers a second thought, I am so engrossed with watching, I dont notice these things, thank your lucky stars I dont live near you, I would be knocking on your door and wanting to watch it in real time, lol, I hope you are going to do another Christmas one, I loved it when you put video inside a train and would love if you could also do it in a bus so we can go around the town too, looking forward to the next great video.
Hi Joan and thank you for the comment. I do intend to do a Christmas video so I suppose I should start preparing for that as it’s not that far off which is a little frightening! 😳. I did do a video a couple of years ago with the camera acting as if we were on a double decker bus going along the high street - I think that may have been a Christmas video from a couple of years ago now but I will try and do another one as it has changed a little since then. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Graham, great work to get the trucks running around the layout. I am amazed at so much detail and technology in such a small item. I sense your huge frustration but crack on with your layout as I really enjoy your content. Its your layout to do as you please. All the best David
Hi David and thank you for the comment, yes, there is a lot of technology in those little trucks, they blew me away when I saw them being demonstrated at GETS that I had to get one and see if it ran on the existing Faller road - which it did, so I bought another so that I could get the two interacting with each other which to me was the icing on the cake. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, Firstly so sorry i missed you at GETS, i did look for you but the crowds were huge, still hopefully next time my friend we can meet. I have just watched all 3 of your videos in one go and i think you have done a cracking job mate. I was looking at getting these , as you know i have the Faller system and it can be a pain but you have just convinced me to change over. I love your tone of voice regarding the bloody key board warriors. They have nothing better to do than moan, let it go over your head and crack on with your outstanding layout. Well done my friend and look forward to the next video cheers Martin
Hi Martin and thanks for the comment mate. Yes, it was really crowded at GETS and I know I missed meeting up with quite a few folk which was a shame but I guess there’s always next year. You have the perfect road system for these vehicles albeit just trucks at the moment but I’m sure they (Viessmann) will be expanding on these in the not too distant future. But the trucks are ok though, just a couple trundling around is very intriguing to watch interacting with each other and also slowing down and stopping with the aid of a few magnets. I’m well over the rant thing now so no worries there, I just had to get it out of my system - I feel much better for it now! 😂😂. Cheers. ………….Graham
Hi Rodger, ok, so what side of your head do you want smacking? 😂😂. Funny thing is that I have had several comments about I now need to make the people cross the crossing! 😂😂. That would shock a lot of folk if I managed that but strangely, I have better things to do with my life! Cheers for now buddy! ………..Graham
Hi. I thought your test run on the previous video was great. You sorted out any teething problems do I often wonder why people pick at very small issues. You've done a really good job.
Many thanks Les for the very kind comment, as I have said a few times now, as long as I’m enjoying myself and in this case, making it all work together then that’s fine by me. It just made me a little angry to keep reading the same old comments which were neither constructive nor meaningful , but having said that, then I will still continue to enjoy myself doing what I am doing and making this system work even better in the near future plus of course I still have the canal to construct - I can already hear the comments on that before I even start building it !! You have to laugh at them really! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, I think it is beautiful. let people talk. can you tell me were you did buy all those beautiful walls, ore did you make them yourself. best regards Teuntje from the Netherlands
Hi Teuntje and thank you for the comment, the retaining walls are kits from Metcalfe here in the U.K. They are very easy to build too. Cheers and hope that helps. ……….Graham
Graham, I am gobsmacked by your efforts. Those trucks look really great. As for the long trailer "jumping over" the kerb, so what! It happens every day, every hour, every minute, every second in every country. Question, are you going to have both trucks go down the incline in the near future instead of round behind the bus station. If so what bout "You and Hazel and of course Ruby" on your cycling adventures. Keep up the good work. ... Ian
Hi Ian and thanks for the comment and I’m pleased that you like the trucks - I certainly do, I think they are amazing in the way that they interact with each other. I am going to have a think about that end of the roadway where the bus station is and the slope down to the village. If I do decide to take it down there then the bikes won’t be an issue as I won’t have them running at the same time as the trucks or buses for obvious reasons. Hope that clarifies things a little. Cheers. ………..Graham
stuff em greame i think your layout is fantastic i love the trucks like anything new will have teething problems. keep up the brilliant work your an insperation to novices like me
Stay strong Graham. I modified an Australian 3801 locomotive with sound lights extra pickups in the tender, fibre optic marker lights and put all the video and circuit information on facetube and got over 2000 positive comments but also got nine detracters with all negative comments. SOD EM all mate I do what I do for my mental health and my model club put up the video because they thought it was a great idea because there are not a lot of Australian locomotive videos on the Net. All of the negative comments said I would have not done it that way, but I wonder some times if any of these buggers even have a train layout but just get their kicks out of negative comments. Stay strong Graham we all love what you do. Best regards Bill from Western Australia.
Hi Bill and thank you for the comment and I couldn’t agree with you more. I did out of interest check on some of the folk who put a negative comment and some not only didn’t have a model railway but they have absolutely nothing on their channel either. So their wisdom actually means nothing to me and as you quite rightly pointed out - sod’em! 😂😂. 99%+ of the folk who did comment were liking the video and more importantly the content so to me that was a success in video terms but the real success was me seeing these two trucks going around the road system without any issues. I rest my case ma’lord! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
I saw this system at GETS and was quite impressed, it’s only now seeing it in action on your layout that exposes the true potential. If Viessmann (misspelt I’m sure) can come up with a bag of components for you to fit under your own model, the opportunities are endless and I can see why you are so excited. In terms of idiots. It appreciating things they get for free, well stuff em, let’s get down The Rose and Crown for a pint or three and talk common sense😂😂
Hi Richard and many thanks for the comment mate. The trucks are awesome and you did spell Viessmann correctly by the way! I can’t wait for next year when I think Viessmann will be introducing more parts and hopefully a couple of buses too. Getting to the pub for a couple of pints sounds good to me! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham, well done. I've havent watch the first video yet with the trucks, but i think it very cool that you have some trucks on the layout and to get them to go around the street. I guess there is a time delay you can program on the trucks to stop them at walkway. that is very cool. looking forward to the next video.
Hi John and thanks for the comment . Yes, you can programme the truck to wait within certain limits of seconds so it’s fully customised to suit your needs. You just download the free program (PC or Mac) plug the truck into your computer and program it within all the many adjustable settings - very similar to altering the CV values on a DCC loco. Hope that helps. Cheers. ………..Graham
If there's something that needs fixing, I'm sure you've already noticed it without some anonymous "critic" on the internet to point it out. Personally, I'd love to be able to have a system like that on my layout, because it has a lot of mostly rural roads. Unfortunately the layout is mostly hills and valleys, and figuring how to make that system work would over-tax what brain cells I still have. So I'll continue to admire your great work and dream...
Hello my friend and thank you for the comment and your absolutely right, I do know about most of the ‘faults’ on the layout and it just needs a little time to fix them or they are not faults and are intentionally like that for a reason. But hey ho, never mind, I’m happy with what I have done so that’s the main thing. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Me too my friend and I’ve been using these for quite a few hours now, they are crazy to watch interacting with each other - love them! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham, the trucks look a lot of fun, looking forward to when you get the buses. Is the squeaking of the wheels audible in real life? The Camera Mic does pick them up and makes them sound loud. A squirt of WD40 needed perhaps? Love the layout and all the extras you have added. Keep up the good work.
Hi Gaza and thanks for the comment. I too noticed that squeak and I think it’s because I sprayed a fine mist of water on the loads before putting the glue on so yes, either a little WD40 or a tiny drop of oil on the axles should sort that - thank you for reminding me, I will do that now before I forget! 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Dave and many thanks for the comment mate, it’s greatly appreciated. I don’t have that much talent in comparison to some of the folk here on RUclips, some of the layouts I’ve seen are just pure magical and just something I can only dream of. So don’t put yourself down buddy, I’m sure you could match whatever I do any day! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham you have an incredible layout and your Viessmann car system is amazing as is your channel! Anyone who says different stick two fingers up at them mate.
Hi Graham looks great don't let the naysayers get to you. they do not respect all you have done and all said it is your layout and are envious all the best tony
Hi Tony and thanks for the comment, they don’t get me down as such mate, but when folk nit-pick over something so trivial and has nothing to do with the main purpose of the video then I get a little annoyed, it’s almost like that they have to find fault with it somewhere and let me know when they do - hence the little rant as a reply to them, that’s all but I’m fine and very happy with the end result. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Ignore the small minded people Graham, there are so many more of us out there who love and appreciate your efforts. You have a great layout and it looks fantastic, keep up the good work!
Many thanks Andrew and I do appreciate that 99%+ of folk out there appreciate what I’m doing, it’s just the very small amount that like to comment and Nick pick about something. Well they’ve had their say and now it’s my turn to reply which is what I have done here and to hopefully show them up for what they are - apart from that, then it makes me feel better too by having my say like they have done. I certainly don’t go back crying into my pillow because of them, they are just not worth it and I will carry on as per normal, enjoying this wonderful hobby of ours. 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Graham - you have a shop just down by the RAC van - Jack owns it --- but the trade is exactly what you need to say to those that act all key board warrior and nit pick. Thank god they dont see my work as they would have a field day! Keep up the grand work mate. It's your layout and you do what you want on it. Regards Steve
Hi Steve and well spotted mate - love it!! 😂😂😂. Don’t worry, I’m so used to this now that it doesn’t bother me like it used to, I just get angry by stupid! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Ronny and thank you for your comment, unfortunately I can’t use the Faller bus at the same time as the Viessmann trucks as the bus has no sensors like the trucks do so it would have to be run by itself. Once Viessmann release some buses then I will be onto them straight away for one, hopefully sometime next year. Cheers. ………Graham
Lakeside is a wonderful layout Graham, I’ve said before that you are an inspiration to a lot of people Most of us realise that you know what’s happening on the layout, the trucks look great and you are a great modeller Regards Martin PS could you check the tyre pressures on the trailer mate cheers🤣🤣
Hi Martin and thank you for the kind comment. I have asked the maintenance crew to check the tyre pressures and you were right, one of the tyres was down a bit so they’ve corrected that now! 😂😂. Cheers. ……….Graham
Thank you Ian for the comment and don’t worry, the small amount of negative criticism is worth bothering about but I do enjoy my little rants now and again, at least it makes me feel better afterwards. I will carry on exactly the way I have been so no worries there. 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Brian and thank you and you’re right, I will keep doing what I do, I don’t know anything else to be honest and if I upset a few folk along the way then that’s their problem - not mine! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
I go back to Rule One: It's your model railway. Do what you want. I saw all the videos on these trucks. I like the idea of mobile lorries and I know later on you want to do this concept for buses. I did notice the cap stone not on top, but I thought that it was knocked off by accident. I certainly did to a number of trees on my layout working on it. To me this capstone is a nothing burger. Yes, I can be picky too, but I choose not too.I believe in Rule One. This Yank across the pond loves Lakeside. I'm here for you. Bill from California
Hi Bill and thank you for the comment and so pleased that you like Lakeside. You’re like me, I may notice things on other folks layout but I choose not to comment as mostly, people know about it and I don’t think that it’s my place to tell them about it so I keep my mouth shut. Yes, I can’t wait for Viessmann to bring out some more vehicles apart from trucks with a bus being my first choice as this high street is set up for buses trundling up and down it. 👍🏻. Cheers for now mate. …………Graham
Ignore the negative comments. You do a great job and obviously take enjoyment from your layout, which is surely the point of the hobby? I for one will continue to look forward to your videos and all the great information you provide 🙂 Andrew
Many thanks Andrew for the comment and no matter how many negative comments I get, I will still carry on in my own sweet way, I won’t be put off by the very few who can’t resist telling me what’s wrong! 😂😂. Cheers. ………….Graham
Don't the armchair warriors grind you down, Graham. I enjoy your videos, and those vehicles are such fun. Enjoy the fruits of your labours and ignore the naysayers.
Hi Philip and thank you for the comment mate, it’s greatly appreciated and don’t worry, I do ignore them. The vast majority of folk fully understand what I’m trying to do here so that’s the main thing and I’m so pleased that these two trucks go round the circuit now with no issues. Onwards and upwards as they say! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Dont let people get to you Graham, I'm sure lots of people noticed the minor glitches but as you stated it was just a test run and the few things that caused minor problems where easily fixed. The ones who commented on them have nothing better to do, its your layout and you keep doing things your way. most of us who watch your videos love your layout and always look forward to updates. So keep up the great work and remember as a youtuber you have a button for the ones who only complain, its called a delete button.
Hi Chris and thanks for the comment. I’m well over the little rant I had and feel much better for it having said my piece. Loads more videos to come yet so stay tuned! 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Great pieces of kit. They do look better with working loads and, as you said yesterday, as long as you keep the blue one in front of the maroon one with no sensors on the trailer there shouldn't be any accidents. With the team Pete Waterman has there's probably a separate complaints department! ;-) Cheers.
Hi Davie and thanks once again for the comment. A complaints department for Pete Waterman wouldn’t surprise although I don’t think anyone would complain to a hypermegastar like him! 😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Well said Graham I was one of them about the van as well but I only ment it as an observation not taking the piss I think its fantastic what your doing them lorrys look great also stopping at the zebra crossing cheers keep it up I love watching your videos
The old story Graham. Those who can, do. Those who can't simply heckle from the sidelines. I find it amusing they have so much time on their hands to criticise rather than put that energy into creativity.
Hi Graham - they are looking rather silly now aren’t they! As always you instal, adjust and perfect to full functionality. I guess they just lack confidence. Taking a positive view I guess it’s good that a couple of the critics have held their hands up and apologised but as always, they should now adopt the maxim that if you have nothing good to say then please don’t comment. Thanks Graham for creating and sharing a marvellous model railroad and one we can amazingly enjoy from the comfort of our own homes, free of charge. What a bargain, so for heavens sake, what’s not to like?
I always find your videos entertaining and very informative and motivating. Please ignore the narrow minded people who have to find fault in every thing and spoil your enjoyment on your layout. Please continue doing what makes you happy, as you can tell far more people enjoy how you are progressing and the few rivet counters can find fault in their own layouts . I bet they have a few. Thank you for Lakeside.
Thank you Phil for those kind words, they make me more annoyed rather than upset me as such, it just seems so petty but never mind, my little rant got it out of my system which I needed to do, I just wanted to show them up for what they are - petty! Cheers and I’m pleased that you are enjoying the layout so far. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham. Another enjoyable video of your new trucks going around your layout. I have to admit that it was I who mentioned the capping stone, which I thought had come detached due to an accident. I was unaware that it was to facilitate removing of the road bed to facilitate cleaning so that was my bad. I am sorry for any upset caused, Graham. When it comes to criticism there are in my view two types. Those from trolls that have no interest in the hobby, or indeed anything else in life, and just like to criticise, and those who point out things, with constructive intentions, to try and be helpful. I am of the latter type and many like me only make constructive comments because you have such a beautiful layout. If it was mediocre, we, I, would just say nothing. I am fully aware that you have your own way of doing things and that is your right as it is your layout. I try not to comment about methodology, unless you specially request comments from your viewers. It is my passion for precision and perfection, that sometimes results in causing offence, when non is intended. I look forwards to seeing further progress on your layout. Best, Jason.
No worries now Jason and to be honest, you weren’t the only one to mention about the capping stone, a few others mentioned this too. Maybe I should have mentioned this ages ago so that folk would understand why that stone was left free. It’s inevitable that it will get knocked off, especially with my clumsy hands but I don’t even bother looking these days if I’m honest, it happens so often. Maybe I should use a tiny piece of sellotape to act has a small hinge so that it doesn’t fall off in future. Anyway, it’s a minor detail and nothing to loose sleep about. Cheers. ……….Graham
Graham the 3rd stone on the trailer's load looks 2.500007 of a mm too big mate. Haha. Just ignor it mate, I personally think that your layout is that good, that people just can't help pointing out niggles. It was nice to bump into you at the bar at GETS, (you might not remember as I'm sure a lot of people wanted to say hello to you). It meant something to me, as I've followed you for years and you do great job on your layout. I've been thinking of a vehicle system for a while now, as there is no emancipation from the fact that it looks great, and yours is no exception. Take care Graham, and speak soon as always. Lee
Hi Lee and many thanks for your comment mate, it’s greatly appreciated as always my friend. I know which rock you are talking about so I have removed it and put in a slightly small rock - just for you! 😂😂. It was great seeing you at GETS, you gave me a shock when you were standing next to me and said “Hi” - I couldn’t believe it was you to begin with - fabulous mate! If you are consider a moving roadway system then I thoroughly recommend these from Viessmann, there stock is a little limited at the moment but I’m sure that come next year then they will be introducing buses along with maybe some other vehicles too. It’s early days for them so expect to see some great products from them in the near future. Cheers for now buddy. ………….Graham
Yes, do really like idea of your road system, it seems more universal and user friendly. Like you said, they'll have more variety coming out soon and there's always the option of doing your own conversion. Hopefully we'll get get chat properly at the next event. Thanks for your reply Graham, take care mate and speak soon. Lee
You tell them Graham!! Bloody armchair amateurs, just try to ignore them. It's you layout that you have chosen to share with us and for which the majority of us are extremely grateful. Heck you could set explosives off and it's nothing to do with anyone but you! You seriously make me giggle when you have one of your tiny rants! 😆 But thats society for you these days. They always have to pull people dawn and be the first to spot something and point it out. Idiots. Don't worry Graham, the rest of us love what you do with your layout and this small thing you add to make it different. Glad the trucks work well! :D
Hehe, thanks for the comment Mav, at least I got it out of my system! 😂😂. They don’t get me down as such but after a while they just make me bloody angry as they totally miss the whole point of the video and instead pick up on the minutest detail which they spotted was wrong - that’s what makes me angry. It’s none of their business to tell me the bleeding obvious which I already know about and if I can be bothered at any one time then I’ll fix said problem - end of! The little rant is my way of responding to them, I give folk the opportunity to comment by having the comments turned on and if they comment in a nit-picky way then I have the right to justifiably point them out. Their problem - not mine. For me, the most important thing about this video was to see if the trucks now go round the roadway without any issues - unlike the first video where there were a couple - this video showed that they went round perfectly which was what I was after. Cheers mate. ………….Graham
Hi Graham, I’ve just watched the two video’s in a row, I liked the first one and moved onto this one, I didn’t read the comments on the first one. I actually thought how well you’d done, now me being me I thought it was quite realistic the truck trailer mounting the pavement as it turned into the station side of the road, i would have kept that as it was. As for hitting the AA van i did laugh but it was something I would’ve done. You do great work mate and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed both video’s, those Viessmann trucks are brilliant. Anyway I’m sure the AA van is covered by insurance😉, cheers Graham, John
Hi John and many thanks for the comment, like you, I’m just so pleased that both these trucks run absolutely fine on the road which was originally designed for my Faller buses and not these Viessmann trucks which is another reason why I invested in them as they should be compatible with the Faller roadway but are not guaranteed to do so 100% so I consider myself lucky that I have had no issues in getting them to run - apart from the ones I have now pointed out and sorted. The insurance cost adjuster has been out to look at the van and will be giving the estimate to them within a day or so! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham, you will never get past the rivet counters and people that want to pick holes. Why these people watch the videos is beyond me. Most of us with any sense can see what a great job you have done setting this up and like anything else there are going to be teething problems. I suggest you ignore all negative comments and focus on the positive. Frank
Indeed they do my friend and I enjoy showing them up for what they are worth. I really don’t mind constructive criticism as long as it is just that - constructive. Not spotting something and telling me they have seen it and thinking that I’m not aware of it is not what I call constructive, just the opposite in fact. But hey ho, 99% of the comments are sensible so that’s the main thing. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham. Haven't watched it ti the end yet but i thought I must comment. Trucks are nearly always going to clip overhangs, its by how much that matters. I did see the tap on the RAC van and thought, he not put that back where it should be, silly ars. Corners are clipped, its a matter of in and out angles and distances. The forethought of taking the approach to the corners when you first layed it (possibly by accident) has paid of immensely. Des. Carry on matey.
Graham, I’ve got to say I appreciated the ‘warts and all’ test run - too often on RUclips we see a perfect outcome rather than the numerous steps taken to achieve it. This is unrealistic and demoralising for the average model railway’er or those new to the hobby (like me). I’m gradually getting caught up on your videos and I must say I find your honest approach to things gives me great hope for what I might achieve. As an aside, I’ve seen many lorry’s mount the corner of a curb in my life 😂 Thanks for all your hard work and for keeping on with the videos. Luke
Hi Luke and many thanks for the comment mate, it’s greatly appreciated. I guess I could have done a video where all the little issues were sorted out but I think showing it as it was gives a better idea of what could go wrong than if I just explained it and gladly you picked up on that which is perfect. Given the time then you can achieve anything you want on your layout, I don’t consider that I do anything special that no one else could do - far from it. So the world is you oyster, with a little imagination and time then you can have anything that you want on your layout. I’m no expert on anything (especially model railways) but I just enjoy thinking up things and seeing if I can get them to work. I hope that you will find the same too. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham, great video of a super road system, don't give those individuals any head space, the green eyed monster is everywhere, keep up the great work you produce, i'm sure the germans will be bringing out some very special road system items in the future, thanks for sharing.
Hi mate and thanks for the comment, I must admit that I can’t wait for Viessmann to bring out the buses they have planned for the future, I know they are in development so hopefully they won’t be too long in coming out. Cheers. …………Graham
🇺🇦 Hi Graham. If I had half your talent I'd be a happy bunny. Those trucks are brilliant, got loads as well now. Before you get a comment on the wheels of the trailer going on the paving, I was a trucker for 18 years and I've lost count of the times I hit the pavement. However I did make sure nobody was about.😂 Great vlog buddy. Stay safe. DELPH JUNCTION (Pete)
Hi Pete and many thanks for your kind comment and having now looked and subscribed to your channel then I think you are putting yourself down my friend, there’s absolutely nothing wrong in what you are doing, you have a cracking layout there and I can see you having endless fun with it too which let’s face it, that’s the most important thing - not throwing loads of money at it or trying to be smart - just pure enjoyment! 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
Hi Graham. That kit from Viessman looks really good. Very pleased for you that you got the 3rd party trailer working as well. I've watched both of your videos from yesterday and today with keen interest. I was wondering as you've got this working successfully. What do you think is the minimum length and width this system will work on that looks good? I am asking as I think this system would work well of me but the space I have is shorter just over 5ft in length and about 2ft wide. So I was wondering what your thoughts would be on it based off what you've learnt using yours? I am going to Warley to try and see it in person but wanted to get thoughts from people who actually have it. Don't worry about the silly people commenting yesterday. They obviously didn't listen to a word you said as you specifically said that you knew it would likely hit obstacles and this was a test to workout if it would work. It would then show what you needed to modify to make it work as you wanted. Funny how you modified certain things and put stuff back in its right place and it worked with issues. I am more impressed that it worked on another system without any flaws as well. Sorry for the little essay. Great work Graham. Stay safe. Tim.
Hi Tim and thank you for the comment, I have watched many German RUclips videos on these vehicles and as they are mainly trucks then they lend themselves very well for a working quarry, they can go up inclines without any issues so could go up empty to an excavator and then come back down again with a load. So something like that may work for you given your space of 5 x 2ft. Just a thought that’s all and hope that may be of help to you. Cheers. ………..Graham
Good video here graham, All I will say is I didn’t notice any of the issues in the last video I was just watching the truck going round which like I said to you originally was something I had wanted to see for a long time, keep up the great work here and don’t take those comments to heart so much, that is what my parents would say to me if I was having these people coming on and complaining about certain things, keep up the great work.
Hi David and many thanks for the comment. To be honest I don’t actually take things to heart as such although it may appear like that. I tend to get more angry than take it to heart and go into a sulk. This is my form of of reply to those folk who insist on being picky just for the sake of it on things completely unrelated to in this case, whether the trucks would make it around the course of the roadway. Never mind, all over and done with now and I’m perfectly happy with the end result of both trucks making around the full coarse of the roadway without getting stuck at one of the ends - that is what this video was really all about. Cheers ……………Graham
Jealousy is a terrible thing Graham, it makes people say the most mean spirited things. I feel sorry for the Debbie Downers and applaud you for your skill and imagination 👏.
Looking good my friend. I like the dirt. Oh my Gawd, they are really nitpicking all this silly stuff? 😢. Sad buggars with nothing else to do. Geeez. Carry on my friend.
All that really matters is that it pleases you. There are always archer critics all they can do it criticize probably because they are jealous. Personally I think it's great to see someone trying something different and there are always teething problems to overcome that's just life.
Exactly my friend and that’s the way I see it too and as long as I’m happy with the end result (which I am) then to me that’s all what matters. 👍🏻. Cheers. ………….Graham
Rather than criticism of what is perfectly good Graham, might I suggest some sort of height restriction sign approaching or on the station canopy. This in search of realism. Personally as I said before, I love the lorries but the price would frighten me off a tad, when you are in fact almost choosing between a lorry or a loco, the costs of each being similar. That said they are rather nice!! Cheers, Bob
Graham, ignore the keyboard warriors. When i was watching yesterday i was willing it to go all the round. when waiting for it to pop out from behind the garage is saying to myself, come on, come and was pleased when it did. Do people not realize that an entire layout is always working progress. Next there be saying OMG the noise from the wheels, make it stop !! GET A BLOODY LIFE !! do these people have perfect layouts, i very much doubt it. You keep going mate. i love your layout.
You and your layout have given me hours of enjoyment, keep up the good work oou should be so proud
Cheers. …………Graham
Thanks for that Graham
seriously jealous it looks amazing buddy
Thank you very much Rob and Grace, I appreciate that - thank you! 👍🏻. Cheers.
😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
People eh? They never cease to amaze. Love the layout and the new trucks are brilliant.
Thanks Frank, really appreciated that mate! 👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
You seem to get them all, as Clive said its your layout and you can do what you like...keep it up mate...!
Many thanks Bruce for the kind comment, it’s greatly appreciated mate! 👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Hi Graham, regarding the comments, someone once said to me,
“Don’t wrestle with pigs.
You both get covered in mud,
But they love it.”
Regards Charlie
Like I said. Very effective! I enjoy watching your enthusiasm and no little skill👍. Stephen.
👍🏻👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham, you're a fantastic railway modeller! Clearly these 'people' haven't got the skills or the know how we do. Keep at it!
Thank you so much Robert for those kind words my friend, they are greatly appreciated sir! 👍🏻. Cheers.
😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham great layout I'm sold on the Viessmann trucks is there a UK stockiest for Viessman Carmotion system ?
Yes there is mate it’s DCC Trainautomation, their website shows all what they have in stock. Link here: www.dcctrainautomation.co.uk/viessmann-car-motion.html
Hope that helps. Cheers. ………….Graham
artic's do clip corners, near where i live ,they sometimes bump a shop corner canopy
Hi Graham for me it’s been a long day! But your rant brought a smile to my face. Unfortunately you can’t please them all of the time, lol
Steve
Hi Steve and thank you for the comment and I’m pleased that I bought a smile to your face after your long day, and you’re right, I can’t please all the folk but I can please most of them - including me which is the important thing! 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Don't let those people who nitpick bother you Graham, you have a great layout that many of us only dream about.
Hi mate and they don’t bother me as such, I just get a little annoyed with the small minority of folk who just have to find something negative to comment on rather than seeing the bigger picture. Never mind, I’m happy so that’s all what matters to me. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham layout as always looking great, just one comment are the new lorries to the right scale? look slightly large to me.
Cheers. ………..Graham
Keep doing what you want, great update Graham.Take no notice of them, they are only jealous.👍
Silently (mostly) watching and learning and enormously enjoying all that you do
Kindest regards Jez
Cheers. …………Graham
@@GrahamFoulston Thanks Graham, I must have missed that one.
👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Graham, it's called jealousy mate screw them, BTW, I did notice one of the trucks ran over a piece of litter TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE , LOL Regards David
love to try what you have doing i might try it in the near further
😂😂. Cheers. ………….Graham
Great vid matey... but the people at the level crossing... Do they not move !!! If they did, could the trucks run them over, like real life????
Cheers. ………..Graham
@GrahamFoulston thanks Graham for the info.. have a great weekend..
👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
I'm still amazed seeing the lorries run round as if by magic. Crazy. All the best to you.
👍🏻. Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi Graham looking really good I wish I had half your modelling skills ignore the keyboard warriors you’re layout is fantastic
Hi mate and much appreciated too - I think, no I hope, that they can see my two fingers quite clearly! 😂😂😂. Cheers. ……….Graham
Layout just gets better, very envious…👍
Regards
Steve
Hi Steve and well spotted mate - love it!! 😂😂😂. Don’t worry, I’m so used to this now that it doesn’t bother me like it used to, I just get angry by stupid! 😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Great fun watching your projects and layout. Show us the bus running also. Greetings from Norway.
Cheers. ………Graham
@@GrahamFoulston Oh. I see. Great. Cheers.
Another great video!!! Well done Graham! Cheers Onno.
Lakeside is a wonderful layout Graham, I’ve said before that you are an inspiration to a lot of people
Most of us realise that you know what’s happening on the layout, the trucks look great and you are a great modeller
Regards Martin
PS could you check the tyre pressures on the trailer mate cheers🤣🤣
Hi Martin and thank you for the kind comment. I have asked the maintenance crew to check the tyre pressures and you were right, one of the tyres was down a bit so they’ve corrected that now! 😂😂. Cheers. ……….Graham
It’s shocking what people say ignore them, you are doing a grand job and it’s running great. Your videos are a pleasure to watch, take care
Thank you Ian for the comment and don’t worry, the small amount of negative criticism is worth bothering about but I do enjoy my little rants now and again, at least it makes me feel better afterwards. I will carry on exactly the way I have been so no worries there. 👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
You keep doing it your way Graham, it's your layout.Continue enjoying what you do and ignore the fools that know nothing
😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
Nice job Graham. They are both looking great on your layout. Well done!
Many thanks Philip and your comment is greatly appreciated too. 👍🏻. Cheers. …………Graham
Lee
It was like a good a start middle and a ending with a little drama has it swiped the RAC van
Tell them to sod off ! The layout looks fantastic. Such attention to detail is amazing , you should be very proud of your self.
😂😂. Cheers. ………..Graham
🤣👍
Graham, you will never get past the rivet counters and people that want to pick holes. Why these people watch the videos is beyond me. Most of us with any sense can see what a great job you have done setting this up and like anything else there are going to be teething problems. I suggest you ignore all negative comments and focus on the positive. Frank
Just ignore the pedants. Thanks for sharing your layout.
Looks great to me mate.... don't let them grind you down 🙂 Some people just seem to enjoy picking fault with things.
As an aside, I’ve seen many lorry’s mount the corner of a curb in my life 😂
Thanks for all your hard work and for keeping on with the videos.
Cheers. ……….Graham
Graham, ignore the neer do wells, your layout is one of the best on you tube ,carry on
That is just fantastic love it
Graham. Have you any further plans regards the area which you take out?.
It might shut the individuals who give negative words.
Keep it going .
Cheers. …………Graham
Rule one Graham! So dont worry about the rivett counters & carry on regardless mate!
🇺🇦
Hi Graham.
If I had half your talent I'd be a happy bunny.
Those trucks are brilliant, got loads as well now.
Before you get a comment on the wheels of the trailer going on the paving, I was a trucker for 18 years and I've lost count of the times I hit the pavement. However I did make sure nobody was about.😂
Great vlog buddy.
👍🏻. Cheers. ……….Graham
@@GrahamFoulston Hi Graham.
Coming from you that's music to my ears.
Thanks for the lovely response buddy.
Pete.
@@delphjunction1168 No worries Pete, credit where credit is due and you sir deserve the credit! 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers. ………..Graham
Hi, I absolutely love your channel!!!!
Geeez. Carry on my friend.
once you are happy the trucks going around the road keep up the good work well done my friend brian from ireland
Cheers, Bob
Hi Graham, Brian Blessed would have the right answer for the small minded individuals!
