How To Ride On A Mardi Gras 2017 Parade Float At Universal Studios Orlando!!

- In today's vlog we show you how to get to ride on and throw beads from one of the Mardi Gras floats during the parade! There are a few ways to do this. If you're an annual passholder, you can sign up on Universal's website (site.universal...) or if you're in the park and happen to see a team member dressed in the float outfit looking for people to ride the float, and lastly you can sometimes have luck with the stand by line in the Barney area of the park. We did find out that resort guests may be able to contact their front desk and request to be on a float as well. Tim was able to get on a float in this vid which was awesome! The UOAP facebook page is a great resource for this sort of thing too! Try to sign up for a few nights because it is a lottery system and you won't be picked for every night. I signed up for two nights and only got picked for one.

I love watching the Mardi Gras vlogs because I'm from South Louisiana and we really have all of that food and the floats and the elaborate costumes! Universal did an awesome job! I went one time for Mardi Gras and it felt like home!

its incredible how the staff at Universal know who you are. I mean, they should pay you for the amount of advertising you do
They do invite them to Special events. So that helps
No worries on being paid by Universal, I'm just having fun at the park and filming it. They do a great job of making it fun!
All of the events we have been to so far we won a contest or I have been invited as a plus one of someone who won.

I love how, through watching these vlogs, I get to do crazy things with you, like ride on a Mardi Gras float! When we lived in Virginia we went to Orlando quite a few times --obviously not as often as someone who lives there, but it was still nice --but since we've moved to Iowa, I haven't been back. This is a fun way to vicariously experience all this fun stuff :)

I was there on Saturday the 18th and visited all the Disney parks that week and you better believe I kept a lookout for you! I don't think you visited then when I was there but I did get a ton of beads!!

I came after Mardi Gras last year and one of the trees you can see from the moving sidewalk, was COMPLETELY covered in beads.
We showed it in our last video, there use to be one closer that they cut down and people have just picked a new tree. :-)

I was on the Alligator float once but it wasn't during Mardi Gras. It was when the Florida Gators won the National Championship. We even opened the park that day as the honorary family.

Actually. Whoevers on river boat (the first float) walks the most. They have to go all the way to the back to get wardrobe and all the way back up. Then afterwards it's the furthest down too.
We rode Riverboat the first time and they just led us backstage by the Sponge Bob store and had our outfits right next to the float. It was a long walk back after the parade though.

Samantha Ferrante Mardi Gras is Feb 28th. Universal does this Parade I believe all month or up to mardi gras.
Official Mardi Gras is February 28th, but Universal runs their Mardi Gras event from February 4 - March 25th. This is also the first year that the parade runs every night during the run of the event. This video was filmed on Friday.

How much throws do they provide you and could you bring on your own throws? Also it is very cool that they are "real" Mardi Gras floats made by Blaine Kern.
Blunder Man I don't know what you mean by "throws", but they supply you with as many beads as you could need to throw throughout the parade. The floats are just filled with boxes and boxes of beads. The objective is to really get ride of them all.

Ahhhh I'm so excited, I'm from New Zealand & will be going to universal orlando in the first week of April! 6 weeks to go!! Whats the crowds/weather like in April?!
I'm not really sure because that is the week Jimmy Fallon will be there taping his show and getting ready for the opening of the new ride. But you should google "universal crowd calendar" that will return a few results that will help with the planning of crowds.
you should cone down to New Orleans and ride on a float Mardi Gras day, that it the ultimate, I grew up with that, it's carnival season now, les se les Bon ton roulet

I believe it is prerecorded audio, but there are puppeteers hidden in the float.

Hey Tim, I'm going to Florida next month I I noticed that Terminator has no wait times on the app, ever. Do you know what's up because that is one thing my family misses from Hollywood's universal.
There is never a wait for it because it is a show that has show times. If you click on "shows" and then click on Terminator 2: 3-D it will bring up the time of the next show. For example, it is 10:00am here and I just clicked on it and the app says the next show is at 10:30am.

I'm not sure, it takes a lot of negotiating when Universal doesn't own the property to get the rights to use it for the event. It would be pretty cool though!

They have a lot of random stuff in that store, it may have been a prop from a store or just something that someone came across and thought it could be sold in that store. There is a mix of Universal stuff and just plain ol strange things.
