Nah this genre is called Amapiano Pop. It's a south african style of music and she's south african

She has some other really great songs you should check out. Truth or Dare, Getting Late and On and On are some of my favourites. Getting Late is from a year or so ago, and the other two are new.
Video-wise, Getting Late has a full music video (must-see), and On an On is on the Colors channel with a beautiful minimal video. Truth or Dare has a visualiser, or you can see her perform it live at The Voice Finale in a medley with Water (must-see).
I'm not sure if any other South Africans mentioned this: her musical style is based heavily on a homegrown genre, amapiano (not Afrobeats). Her take on it leans towards pop/R&B. Amapiano is an entire lifestyle, so it's not unusual for an amapiano artist be a good dancer.
I LOVE learning new things like this. Just so you know I'm probably going to search Amapiano on RUclips now just to educate myself lol. Wrote your suggestions down & can't wait to dive into more Tyla. Thank you! 💙

Lmao had an instant crush on her bro 😂 down bad. I hated this track at first it felt like I was being forced to hear it but I love it lmaooo. She’s cool but I’ll have to wait for more. Her other music is decent but nothing on the same level. Truth or Dare from the ep she dropped is cool but i just hope she isn’t stuck needing another “Water”. I love Tyla! She's South African. And it's funny that you mentioned Normani because Tyla said that Normani was the first American artist to reach out to her! So hopefully they do a song together soon as well. And Chris Brown took Tyla on her first tour where she was his opening act! Tyla just won a Grammy as well! Her career is gonna go very far and I can't wait to see what she does next.
