May the boiler, drive pistons, etc. indeed roll on as also the memory of Mr. Harry Card. Good job!

Damn--I wished I had been in the area to have seen this little gem. I have boated the Ohio River for many years and there are many privately owned paddlewheeler boats all up and down the Ohio and other rivers connected to the Ohio--with many of those boats---their owners members of the American Sternwheeler Association, in West Virginia, along the Kanawha River, most docked close to the Charleston area. Sure would have been fun to see this thing chugging along the shoreline of the lakes and in the Dora Canal and Dead River. Hell--it might be fun to make a small one like this just for the lakes or the St. John's.....and power it with a true boiler rather than a small lugger diesel.....does anyone know where the guts of the Silver River Queen are now???

I have the "guts", essentially the engines and stern wheel and it's assembly, all now mounted on a 22 ft Carolina Skiff, But its not in service as I need to build the plumbing and connect up to the new boiler which I had built for it. Hopefully, I can find someone here in Florida to assist with the project. The original boat came down with serious dry rot and basically fell apart a few years after the video was shot. -JH

I love it! But that boat would be under in 10 seconds in average seas here on the south shore of Long Island

It was built for the lakes in Florida. Sadly, it became a victim of dry rot and was disassembled several years ago.

Any idea what horsepower it was, or its speed? Thinking about building a solar powered sternwheeler.
