I drove this Murcielago when it was a track car at Everyman. I think it was a 40th Birthday gift. Such a big heavy machine, but so much fun. Every time I went round the first bend, the Horn beeped. Cant believe you paid 100K for it, but like you said yourself it's a childhood dream. I dont think it has been ragged quite as much as you think. The instructors wouldn't let us novices go very fast, in fact we were told to stay in 4th gear all the way round. Great channel Mat.
I'm six months in as subscribing on the main channel - not a car buff but getting really hooked - mostly because your content is so interesting - actually love the difference between the two channels as well hope you can keep them both pure in their formats - amazing work
Just wanted to say thank you for posting your two new videos, I've been in the hospital the past 48 do to a chemical blow out, they've really helped to get me through it.
The leaking front shock could well be the front end lift and not the shock? There is no better feeling that starting up the V12!! Looking forward to the progress!! Don't LP640 it, the Pre LP cars are the best looking :)
Also Matt, If you are going to get rid of the CATs and the back box you will have to have the car mapped to suit. They become a pain with low back pressure - EML lights and poor idle and jerky pull away. Especially in the Pre-LP cars. Also make sure you put the heat shield back that covers the standard back box, if you run without even with an aftermarket exhaust you run a HUGE risk of the car catching fire. There are some great tips on Lamborghini Talk for cross referencing parts - Coil packs for example are £1600 each from Lamborghini, or you can get some NGKs from the US for £39 each - The Pre LP cars had a Marelli Magneti system which they changed to the 4 wire Audi setup on the LP640 which is much cheaper and more reliable. With the throttle bodies, There is a firm that reconditions them in Europe, I will find their details when home later. They will be able to do a much better price than Lamborghini. Also, on Pre LP cars they need to be balanced with LaRA for ensure smooth idle and to stop the car stalling and misfiring. I would highly recommend that you get your one refurbished at the same time so they are all as good as new. LP640s do the balancing automatically via the ECU, the Pre LP cars don't. Hey Matt, I’ll always typically watch your channel on my tv but wanted to login to actually tell you how much I enjoy the videos. Fully appreciate there is a very small chance you’ll get to read this, but wanted to let you know your channel is bloody fantastic and think you’re going a long way in this RUclips game. Hopefully you do a meet up in the new year!
You need to contact ‘ van Kronenburg’ in the Netherlands, they have a lot of engines parts voor a lambo. Also they have some body work. It word a phone call. (Excuse me for my bad English i’m also from the Netherlands) Ik hope i can help you with this :)
Please Matt keep the interior this colour, its period to how crazy this car was, will definitely add to the value when restored. The Lambo Hercules wheels is the only substitute for the ones currently on there.
I think for car people this channel is fantastic. MK2 > MK1 all day! Don't get me wrong, MK1 is super entertaining, but nothing beats this production style plus all the car guts.
It amazing to me to see how this track experience company trashed this beautiful car. I wouldn't trust a track experience company that doesn't take pride in their vehicles. Matt works hard a making real cars amazing again.
I'd be putting the engine on a dyno to do the first start up. Saves you having to pull it back out of the car if there's a problem. I learnt this the hard way.
Matt you was saying you bought the Lambo with the condition of ALL the parts where included. So why aren't you charging the track for the cost of the missing parts?
New subscriber here I've been doing a build of my own (discovery 2 td5) your videos are keeping me encouraged to work on my car I thought it needed lots of work when I first got it I've replaced the engine for a decent lump and changed it from auto to a manual along with some welding it's nearly ready for a clean interior new carpet snorkel lift kit etc keep up the good work you have no idea how far your inspiration can push people to get there own projects finished .... I'd like to see a big 4x4 soon on your channel ... g wagon or defender would be really cool .... keep up the great work !
Must be the only lambo in the world that’s being put back together with a £350 f-tools tool kit. Including an engine rebuild. Absolutely love it. Most people on RUclips need £20k worth of snap on to do a cylinder head gasket on a Ford Focus.
Looking forward to the first crank of the Murcielago's engine. Pity I can't get there from Perth Australia. Congrats on ALMOST 700K subscribers on your main channel. Now this channel needs to catch up!!
I really enjoy these videoes on this channel. I goes so well with all my curiosity from the main channel. Also I like that you break up, by being shot on iPhone and without all the editing. Good job mate.
You would hope maybe the guy that sold you that Lamborghini that some more parts that your missing would be with him. I’d be going back to him and scouring that place to get as much as possible
Could you get one of those dry ice cleaning companies to spangle up the engine block and engine bay? Seen a few people use them and it gives a whole new lease of life to bits that look a bit tired.
Hi Matt this project has got to be the most exciting one of all, if not for you it would have been forgotten....best of luck with this one. Cheers Andrew 😊
Loving this second channel man 👌, great to see kinda behind the scenes a bit. And what a sick sick project this is, the murci is probably on every petrol heads top 5 cars ever,so iconic. Cheers ✌️
Please use black Nappa leather and black Alcantara with bright green stitching and bright green seatbelts. but I guess it will all depend what colour you paint the car , so just do the stitching and seat belts the colour of the car. I really hope you do what I suggested. Anyway good luck with the build no matter the colours. By the way I'm subbed to both your channels and I have been thoroughly entertained on both. Keep up the great work that you do. Pete. from Australia.
Just wanted you to know that there is already a brand of merch called save the manuals by Its justa6 but I know it’s only words on a t-shirt lol 👌 I’ll defo be copping one 😊
Hey Mat, this maybe sounds crazy but i think that the Recaro Podium racing seats are perfect for the murcielago. They are really expensive but with an expensive car comes expensive parts
I’ve got a 64 plate C200 petrol the 2Litre turbo I’m not the best when I comes to modding a car I don’t really know what to do can you give me any ideas or links to get it looking better a better sounding exhaust and stuff like that? Keep up the hard work love these videos
Definitely worth whatever it takes .. just imagine ripping throu the gears of a manual Mercielago that you built back up yourself (with help of course)...but that green although cool when new has gotta go for sure .
Go for a full colour change, inside and out Bro! Put some class back into it, there are too many Lambos that are Skittle colours. TGE's Murcielago is a good example of a bit more style and class! Anyway, can't wait to see more vids on it! :)
I’ll be honest, I’m watching this thinking “why would someone want a Murci even if it was mint?”. Impractical, massive, difficult to drive. Just an expensive nightmare…… but I know I’m going to love whatever Mat turns it into. 🎉
I love the car and am really looking forward to you rebuilding it! But 100 grand? No way thats way too much for the condition its in! Fair play to you though you've taken it on and I wish you all the best with it! I wonder how much it will be worth when its done? Does it have any categories attached to it or does it have a clean title as our US friends say.
Another quality video! Keep up the great content mate👌 And I finally just got round to buying a "Money Pit" Jet tag! Lol, been meaning to get one for ages! 🤜🤛
Ooooft, you've got your work cut out with this one Mat and it's not gonna be cheap 😮 Looking forward to seeing the build progress, I'm sure it will be so sick once you've fixed it up 🤘
This second channel was the best decision you’ve ever made matt! Quality content as always
Get a room
Why a second channel?
Edit: Haha. I watched the beginning and know now

Agreed you're not allowed to rag them. It likely needs a damn good thrashing to clean the engine. 🤣
You’re an absolute super start Mat. I can’t get enough of your journey! Nothing, but nothing phases you. Is there nothing you can’t transform?
A dry ice blaster would be fantastic for this build. Particularly with getting the engine and engine bay cleaned up.
On a plus side, I think this is the first car you’ve never had to replace the seatbelts!
I'm six months in as subscribing on the main channel - not a car buff but getting really hooked - mostly because your content is so interesting - actually love the difference between the two channels as well hope you can keep them both pure in their formats - amazing work

I love the bi color green interior, consider keeping it original OEM!
More wrecked car's made not so wrecked, content? Sign me up! Keep up the great content brother!

I think it would look good in nardo grey yellow insert and yellow calipers just an idea mat 👍🏼
My main drive is a Range Rover supercharged sport, I thought I was brave with this, but you are on a completely different level of braveness. Respect.
It’s crazy how good phone cameras are these days the only thing giving it away is the audio
Please Matt keep the interior this colour, its period to how crazy this car was, will definitely add to the value when restored. The Lambo Hercules wheels is the only substitute for the ones currently on there.
This project has got me hooked im not really onto super cars but I love a rescue car restoration, will be watching them all 💪fantastic work matt 👏
I think for car people this channel is fantastic. MK2 > MK1 all day! Don't get me wrong, MK1 is super entertaining, but nothing beats this production style plus all the car guts.

Matt works hard a making real cars amazing again.
Can we get a current car collection update? Would love to see that as there's been a ton of new projects on the channel
I'd be putting the engine on a dyno to do the first start up. Saves you having to pull it back out of the car if there's a problem. I learnt this the hard way.
Just love it that nothing phases you.
I get stressed out over an oil change😂 excited to see the next development.
Matt you was saying you bought the Lambo with the condition of ALL the parts where included. So why aren't you charging the track for the cost of the missing parts?
You should buy the LP conversion kit like Dave DDE.
Cheers mat I have just received my save the manuals t shirt and it fits perfect mate much appreciated Matt 👍
Awesome 👍 you are very good mechanic and you explain everything in very detaile
Love this 2nd channel ! Did you not buy the car on the promise from Everyman that it was ‘all there’ ? 🤔
The worse it is at the start, the better it will be at the end. So looking forward to watching you work your wonder on this car.
I can’t see how they sold you that for the money they did.
I get you can fix it.
But you were robbed in my opinion Bruv 😢😢
Deffinetly was. I'll avoid that place like the plague now
Love the rawness of this channel. Really enjoyed the video. Cheers!

Nice video, side note I want Chris's 1 series so much 😬 hats off to him hes done a really good job on that one
Enjoyed that seeing a bit what goes on behind the scenes

Matt this looks better than your other videos. It’s so smooth and the colors look so much better. Just use your iPhone 😁
love your positive can do attitude. inspirational
2 videos in 1 week🤩 we are blessed
I love the indicator stalk out of a Mk1 Punto 😎👍
dang, i dont know i need this channel so much, thank you for putting this out
I recently had a chance to ride in a Lamborghini Aventador, and I will just say, Matt, you are going to love this Murceielago
Save the merciélago! I am instituting a new battle cry for the car enthusiast. Cheers Matt, best of luck my friend!
The optimism is next level guys, you did say before if the engine wasn't complete you had a deal in place with the seller. Is that still in play?
You would hope maybe the guy that sold you that Lamborghini that some more parts that your missing would be with him. I’d be going back to him and scouring that place to get as much as possible
Glad you are doing the second channel - great fun
Great 2nd channel and great stuff to enjoy. Well done, roll on the Mercelargo ✅✅✅✅👍👍👍👍
Thanks for mentioning my focus mk1 comment 😂😂
Could you get one of those dry ice cleaning companies to spangle up the engine block and engine bay? Seen a few people use them and it gives a whole new lease of life to bits that look a bit tired.
Probably the happiest sounding person who has spent 100,000 pounds on a project :D Going to be a massive job!
Hi Matt this project has got to be the most exciting one of all, if not for you it would have been forgotten....best of luck with this one.
Cheers Andrew 😊
U should put an sv kit on it
The Gated Shifter on the t-shirt back, looks just like my R8 Gated shifter
This Chanel is great, more relaxing to watch ⌚️ 👌 🙌
Bought a Save the Manual shirt to support you bud. Best of luck with the build will keep tuned.
Ngl the second channel low-key better than the first channel 😅but love both of them ❤️

I really enjoy the content on the second channel. Thanks a lot Mat. cheers from Brazil tho
Good luck Mat. Looking forward to seeing the progress. How's the BMW doing?
Please use black Nappa leather and black Alcantara with bright green stitching and bright green seatbelts.
but I guess it will all depend what colour you paint the car , so just do the stitching and seat belts the colour of the car.
I really hope you do what I suggested.
Anyway good luck with the build no matter the colours.
By the way I'm subbed to both your channels and I have been thoroughly entertained on both.
Keep up the great work that you do.
Pete. from Australia.
Great video matt! I reckon you should get the lp 640 tail lights hoping they'll fit

This car is dead if Matt brings this back to life he is a magician
We need a Garage Update soon!
Gotta give Ed Bolian a call about this if you haven't already, he'd be a big help and would love the fact it's a manual.
Good luck, great so far 👏🏼
That could be the best merch you’ve made to date. Tempted to buy one as an FU to EVs
Love it!!! Please clean the murcielago ❤
Impatient de voir la suite 👍💪
Definitely worth whatever it takes .. just imagine ripping throu the gears of a manual Mercielago that you built back up yourself (with help of course)...but that green although cool when new has gotta go for sure .
Tagged you in an ad on FB for some pre LP Gallardo TBs
This car most be your biggest challenge for you, can wait till you next episode,
Can’t wait to see what color it’s going to be
awesome vid pal .and wow looking at all them parts just wow. Good luck 👍
While the motor is apart for reliability and longevity you should look into performance coatings for engine internals and wpc treatment !!!
Go for a full colour change, inside and out Bro! Put some class back into it, there are too many Lambos that are Skittle colours. TGE's Murcielago is a good example of a bit more style and class! Anyway, can't wait to see more vids on it! :)
Yeahhhh baby another one 🎉❤
I’ll be honest, I’m watching this thinking “why would someone want a Murci even if it was mint?”. Impractical, massive, difficult to drive. Just an expensive nightmare…… but I know I’m going to love whatever Mat turns it into. 🎉
U got ur hands full with that murci
Good luck u will need but good for content 👍👍
Cannot wait to see this thing brought back to life and shine like it once did! Great content mate.
Interested in that dash circuit board
100k blimey that seems such a lot for what you get
Mat this car is an absolute nail
I love the car and am really looking forward to you rebuilding it! But 100 grand? No way thats way too much for the condition its in! Hi Matt, I love both channels but particularly this one! Cheers

Black on black on black, lowered on air, turbo charged and strait piped like Richard Rawlings Ferrari F40 👍👍👍👍
PLS get the LP 640 front bumper also.
Another quality video! Keep up the great content mate👌 And I finally just got round to buying a "Money Pit" Jet tag! Lol, been meaning to get one for ages!

Ooooft, you've got your work cut out with this one Mat and it's not gonna be cheap 😮
Looking forward to seeing the build progress, I'm sure it will be so sick once you've fixed it up 🤘
