If the context was, "if winners of hell's was picked for a hk season" same person when they all walked in to hell's kitchen, wouldn't it be interesting?
The fact that Nick, Millie, and Michelle all made the final 4 in all stars after all 3 of them making the final 5 in against Meghan and T in that same season speaks to just how much talent that was packed into that season.
Even Brett is from that season and he had to exit in 3 episodes due to health issues. Still got top 3-4 when they brought him back for Rookie and vets.
It's funny, because when I first watched S14 I didn't think it was that strong talent-wise. Looking back, I guess T and Meghan were that far ahead of everyone else.
Let me remind you how monstrously strong Meghan is. All 5 black jackets that didn't win season 14 reappear in other seasons. 3 of them strong enough to got to the black jackets again, and she basically dominate them during season 14. Of course they grow between the seasons, but that mean Meghan also grow. I wonder how strong she's now.
Well maybe Nick and Michelle especially got a lot stronger as they were younger we can't say who's stronger years later as they competed that time only. We can say though T had a worse performance in S18 and also that different people change in different ways over time. We can say that they were all beasts and that Megan was so good she rised even among them. I'm not so sure about her being the best winner as she's not the only one who won with a fierce competition. At the end of the day to win HK you need consistency in performing the Ramsey dishes, emotional and physical endurance and leadership skills and all the best chefs where the black jackets were strong have all these qualities so it's hard to tell who is better, you could say Christina Whilson has the best leadership along with respect for the staff or that Dave is the most enduring and hardworking or that Michelle and Ariel both won a fierce competition with many veterans.
Unpopular opinion, I loved Scott. Not because he's the best winner or even best chef, but because I love watching people who hate him get triggered when he wins.
season 14 is so funny to me. it’s like putting the most well trained soldiers in the world, making them fight for a spot as a general, and then making them go against The Predator
I loved Megan's no nonsense/all business attitude. Like when she finally got to go on reward after being cooped up for weeks and it was like parasailing and lunch on a boat and she's like "I hate boats and I hate heights 😑" And when Ramsay put her on the blue team I remember a montage of each of the girls on the red team being like "now with Megan gone maybe I can be the leader and shine."
While I personally put Dave in number one just because of how badass winning with a broken arm is, I totally understand why people say Megan is there's. She was an absolute rockstar
Casual fans always say Christina Wilson is the best but I think they just see her position now and give her extra credit for that. Meghan was without a doubt the most dominant chef in history. It was like throwing one of Ramsay’s sous chefs from one of his restaurants into this competition. Another thing I think Ramsay considers is if the winner of HK is a LIFER chef. Some black jackets from past seasons have gotten out of culinary entirely. IMO that’s what made Holli winning soo shocking. Jay lives and breathes culinary. It seemed more like a passion, but something she could live without.
Holli is still in culinary though. While I agree she shouldn’t have won, I still feel awful that she literally got screwed out of the head chef job big time. I know there was one black jacket who ended up quitting culinary and got a job as an HR rep or somthing
Holli improvement in the 2nd half of the season is the reason why she deserved to win. She just got better and better with each episode and Ramsey loves that
For me, I'm not going to say that Christina has the best winter, but she is still my favorite. I look up to her, not only as a woman, but as a lesbian. She's a very strong competitor regardless and I do think she absolutely deserves the role she's played by now, as the sous-chef for the red team and Gordon Ramsay's right hand in America. Even if she's not the strongest, she'll always be my favorite. Edited for spelling
@@Bigones111Holli works at a light company now, I think her and her husband are co-owners or something. Crazier fun fact though: Benjamin left culinary too, and now works at a car dealership. Autumn also left the industry and became a realtor.
For Christina Wilson's first service when it was actually revealed during interviews that the wellington mishaps weren't actually on Christina. Someone else had prepped and stored the wellingtons and they weren't stored correctly which messed with the dough
I knew Meghan would be in the top haha easily the strongest winner ever. Overall this a great list and very similar to mine. I’m also glad you put Danny that high I think people really forget how consistent he was during his season.
@@thebeatlesxx3442 This list is about how the chefs performed on their season. Yes Christina was made sous chef but on her season she made a lot of mistakes while Meghan was pretty much flawless her entire season.
@@thebeatlesxx3442 yes Christina seems to be the most successful now. But Meghan was a better chef than Christina, or anyone else that ever participated at the time they were in the show. Very rare we see on the show that level of consistancy in services/challenges, professionalism and leading ability in one single person. Maybe only Will S9 and Ariel S18 can come close.
Dave telling Gordon to eliminate him based on his performance instead of his injury was such a chad move. Dude will always be remembered as the top tier of Hell’s Kitchen. Megan is a great too choice though. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone in any season since absolutely dominate like she did. You knew she was a winner very early on in the show, I watched that season just wondering who her competition would be for final 2.
Megan was definitely the best winner, s14 had so many strong cooks (T, Michelle, Milly and nick) but she was just on a level above. Rock solid from the start of the season, and carried her team throughout the season in dinner services….probably made one mistake in the entire season and immediately bounced back
Just too bad she wasn't brought back for either the All Stars or Rookies vs Veterans series. I actually would have loved to have seen Julia in the All Stars as well & was bummed she didn't return for it.
Why Meghan is the best 1. Has great skills and palette 2. Has great leadership 3. Carried her teams, both in red and blue team 4. The red team was happy when she was switched to blue cuz it meant they get a chance to shine 5. Only made one mistake when she was working MEAT station on a STEAK night, when there were only 3 people in the team. 6. Ramsay and her team was genuinely shocked when she made a mistake 7. Her team always come to her for help, checking flavor, temperature, etc 8. Did not dwell into drama 9. Carried her team in challenges
The 3-person finale really soured S17 for me. A final 2 service between Nick and Benjamin would have been one of the best finales in the history of the show, along with Danny/Paula, Dave/Kevin, Paul/Will, Christina/Justin, and Meghan/T. The only way Michelle ever had a hope at beating Benjamin or especially Nick is if the universe bent over backwards for her, and that’s exactly what happened lol.
Agreed. If Nick had won I could easily see him at the top of this list. He was so flawless that season and to see him be eliminated by a bunch of suits (they weren’t even chefs) was heartbreaking and so unfair. I know Nick would have slayed that final service.
It would be really interesting to have a season where the 20 winners compete. I think that it would make a pretty interesting season, especially seeing someone win 2 seasons.
I'm so glad that Meghan being considered the best winner is almost unanimous. I dont think there has ever been a winner with such a clean run and win. Easily the most skilled contestant on the show ever.
I think you did Michael really dirty placing him bottom 4. I understand the lack of competition in general but you can't tell me Ralph wouldn't beat out half the winners on this list and so I think the presence of Ralph made it so Micheal really did shine against great competition and deserves a much higher spot. Especially when Heather who is a very similar situation was placed much higher than him.
Paul did something super smart in his final dinner service. He picked Elise first, knowing that she would fight harder for him by doing so. Say what you want about Elise, but credit where it belongs. She kicked ass for Paul in that season finale.
Michael Wray, Heather West, Danny Veltri, Dave Levey, Holli Ugalde, Christiana Wilson, La Tasha, Meghan Gill, Kimberly ann Ryan, and Ariel Fox are the winners that had zero nominations so far.
When I saw this video on my suggestion feed I instantly knew Meghan would be at least the top 3 I remember in an interview she mentioned where she trained under chefs who were similar to Gordon Ramsey. She admitted they yelled at her and threw stuff out of frustration. Hell’s Kitchen was just another day at work
Honestly coming here back after battle of the ages I think Alex is probably one of the strongest winners on the season because of how dominant he was during his season, probably top five in my opinion.
I remember being very happy when alex won his season. He was a better chef and leader than dafne and thought he deserved it 100% but I also thought he may not win solely cause of his age. But he won despite being 40, the first 40 something winner. And no dought was the best 40 something on s21.
Don't forget Michael is the master of sabotage. When he sabotaged Ralph for giving the crab risotto without the crab inspired Chef Ramsay to do the same on future seasons to test the Black Jackets whether they paid attention or not.
I feel like most of Season 17 eliminations were scripted I mean Ben left due to health issues(which I understand) Ashley left for looking at her watch Giovanni left in cook for your life despite Robyn doing far worse Van left for not communicating once while Barbie and Elise did way worse(in the next episode Elise even pointed out how BS his elimination was) Dana for messing up once Jennifer in black jacket challenge I think they wanted another female winner or because Michelle was the youngest Gordon wanted to take advantage of it.
This is why anything with "All-Stars" on every Tv show is always the worse. Not just Hell's Kitchen, that also happened to America's Next Top Model when one of the contestants of that season got disqualified because she was an escort and she announced she was the winner. And the winner, just like Michelle, was underwhelming and did not deserve to win.
If I were to rank the winners: 1. Dave Levey (Obviously, being a beast while dealing with a broken wrist, and dominated the season along with Kevin, similar to Meghan and T in S14) 2. Meghan Gill (One of the best for her likeability and skill) 3. Christina Wilson (Despite the rocky first service, a true leader, and her ability) 4. Ariel Fox (Was happy to see her and Kevin return. Also, she was MUCH better in S18 than S6 as she didn't have a bad service in S18) 5. Danny Veltri (Loved his enthusiasm, humor, and just being a great chef overall) 6. Heather West (Despite the lack of competition, she was a powerhouse. Plus, bonus points for still commanding the kitchen while suffering from a bad burn) 7. Kori Sutton (Kori was a surprisingly great chef in S19. Though, I still think Declan was screwed over from making the final two, Kori was deserving in the end) 8. Rock Harper (Just one phrase, rock solid) 9. Scott Cummings (Despite inconsistency, he stood out WAY more than most winners. Plus, I will argue the best leader in HK history. And just a likeable, nice guy, and badass in the kitchen) 10. Kimberly-Ann Ryan (Great skill and passion, but lacked leadership for me) 11. Paul Niedermann (While loved his passion and skill, like you, this season is hard to judge, because of Elise) 12. Holli Ugalde (Despite not being a great leader, she was one of the best service performers I've seen on the show) 13. Christina Machamer (Despite her inconsistency and the fact Petrozza should've won, she was really good in her own right, and stood out much more. Plus, the most likeable red team member of the season for me) 14. Michelle Tribble (While Nick should've won, she did hold her own this season. Especially, with dealing with Elise's BS) 15. LaTasha McCutchen (I agree with you. Despite being solid throughout, definitely forgettable) 16. Ja'Nel Witt (Similar to you, doesn't stand out much. I still feel Jon should've won, had he been 10% a better leader. Plus, her drug test failure knocks her down for me) 17. Trenton Garvey (Didn't watch much of S20, so I can't judge too much. Other than the fact he broke the male-winless streak of 7 seasons in HK) 18. Michael Wray (Same as you, too much of an advantage, and lack of competition) 19. Nona Sivley (I hated S8 for Russell and Sabrina so much. However, Nona was solid, despite inconsistency. I do agree that if Russell was not a douche, he wins) 20. Ariel Malone (Simply, the fact a villain won was just dumb. However, she was solid throughout, but didn't stand out to me)
Dave is the 7th best winner not 1st. Holli is too low. Trenton is a bit too low. Both Christina's are way too high. LaTasha is 2nd best winner. Michelle is the worst winner. Paul is way too low. Heather, Kori, and Rock are bottom teir winners. Meghan is the best winner in the shows history.
I’d love to see u rank Hell’s Kitchen characters. Never seen anyone even attempt it but there’s so much to talk about there. Good characters, terrible characters, winners characters, I just wanna see someone talk about entertainment on that show over cooking for once. I don’t know what the hell is going on in the kitchen 90% of the time but I love to watch hilarious and awesome characters throughout the seasons
Out of everyone, no one, not even Chritina Wilson, comes close to Dave. He fought and won despite the fact that he broke his wrist, which left him at a huge disadvantage. I can not see any of the other winners going through that and coming out on top the way Dave did. Long live the One-Armed Bandit!
I get taking into account competition level but the reality is that Heather dominated in every aspect in pretty much every challenge and service which many others you out above her didn't. And if anything the fact that she completely carried her weak teammates helps her case.
Heather was garbage in challenges and wasn't even the best on the line that season(Keith was the best also RIP). She's arguably a bottom 4 winner and she barely beats out Michelle, Nona, and Rock.
Nick Peters would have been in the top 5 had he not been robbed. The dude was rock solid in Season 17 and gave great dishes. Heck, there are speculations the judges were homophobic in not choosing him. Heck, the judges weren't even in the culinary field.
thats bs saying judges were homophobic wheres the proof thats just nicks fans being poor losers and making exuses for him, nick was overall weaker cook and leader than michelle and benjamin.
@@DonoZeek how dare i what im just telling you facts, he was consistent but saying he never made mistakes youre deluded if you believe that, he made less service mistakes than anyone but more mistakes in challenges than michelle or benjamin.
@@rikusalenius4265 wasn't he the last standing chef in one of the challenges and still cooked great food. Not to mention, he won certain challenges. Admit it, he deserved to win. Ben screwed a few times like leading and communicating. Michelle as well.
@@DonoZeek so was michelle but they both were the last chef standing only momentarily but the blue team won that challenge because it contained more stronger chefs than red team not just because of nick. when it came to indivual challenges HE NEVER OUTRIGHT WON ANY, only in the taste it now make it challenge was he even second best, tho he had best dish along with robyn in episode 5 challenge stil if anything michelle won the most challenges having like 5 challenges where she was named the best performer out of everyone tho one of those times was the dinner service where she was named best of the best. nick ben and michelle all only missed like one sabotage when running the pass in the final four but other than that they didnt screw up, nick was still not any better or even as good as benjamin or michelle, you admid it michelle deserved to win season 17.
I’m a huge fan of Christina Wilson for sure and i would personally have switched her and Ariel Fox in the rankings, but i wholly agree that Dave and Meghan were absolute BEASTS in the kitchen and deserve to be in the top 2! And yes, I think Christina was at a HUGE risk of being eliminated in episode 1 and I can’t believe how close she was to being the first boot lol
A few ideas: Black jackets season rankings, ranking of chefs eliminated mid-service, rankings of chefs eliminated off of cook for your life challenges and fan favourite rankings
I think Scott is probably my favorite winner, I loved how he was always willing to take risks during challenges. And while I like Kori, I can’t even say I acknowledged her till the middle of the season, that’s how much she didn’t stand out to me. I don’t know if it’s because the cast of season 19 is so talented or It’s been too long since I’ve watched that season, but her winning was a shock to me
Very good list. Completely agree with top 3. Megan is the best HK contestant ever. A lot of people say Christina is the best but I think she's a bit overrated as I don't think she's that much better than say Dana from her season. The only flaw on this list to me is Michelle, so young so talented, should make the finale in S14, deserve to win S17, should be in the top 5.
@@blackflag6470 that's why I would say some people think she is overrated, because of knowledge of her after the show success bleeding into the memory of her as a contestant in season 10. Re-watching season 10, she was an amazing contest for sure, and a well deserved win, but she wasn't a charismatic figure like Dana, for example, who is another fan-favourite and amazing contestant from that season. I myself like Cristina more now that she is the ruthless, but also at the same time compasionate, sous-chef of the red kitchen, then during her time as a mostly quiet contestant.
@@matheusmoreira9951 nah Dana was always easily flustered and sometimes would repeat the same mistakes instead of bouncing back. That was more consistent than her cooking.
@@hypathiassword8749 no rather underrated clearly she was the best chef in season 17 but many including flynnmasters rank her in the bottom of the winners, when talent and overall perfomance wise she is in the top 5 or at the very least top 8.
I think Scott is underrated. He’s one of the most natural leaders even amongst the winners and he had clear skills as a chef. Some of his struggles seemed to be a result of having to take on a position as a cook which clashed with his natural position as leader in a kitchen and the other contestants weren’t exactly appreciative of his leadership since it was a competition and they didn’t want to be outshined
just rewatched season 11 again and like Janel was one of the best challenge performers in the history of the competition lol. And she was solid in services and a good leader.
Nick absolutely got robbed in the all-star season. As for Dave from season 6, fun fact: Hell's Kitchen was not the first time he killed it in the kitchen with a really bad injury. He's still one of my favorite winners.
Christina is my number 1 choice!!! Strongest overall. Never been nominated, Always had strong palette, 5 star dishes, and still works for Gordon Ramsay today !
@@mr.e6033 i've literally met 12 of these chefs a few years ago and they still worked for him and that restaurant, but now I think like 2 only work for him. They have moved on to their own restaurant.
Scott, Christina Machamer, Christina Wilson, Heather West, Dave, Michelle, La Tasha Ariel 'Season 18' were my favourite Hell's Kitchen winners. Scott had extremely high standards when he ran the pass. I like how he continued to prove himself. Christina for her determination to prove herself and ability to bounce back. Christina and Heather for their consistency and how strong they were. Dave for performing well despite his injury. I give Michelle credit because she had to deal with Elise's horrible attitude. She was also very talented.
To be fair the one who took it from him was Meghan who was pretty much a Hell’s Kitchen Goddess whereas Dave was an angel with a broken wing. Still a legend either way and my personal favorite winner
Great list, thanks. I agree that Holli shouldn't have won, Jay was far superior. And you are right about Megan, from the first show on, you knew she was a leader and a winner.
I always prefer Nona over Paul... the reason for that I'm a bit bias for Nona over Paul is because out of all the winners... I went out of my way to eat at Nona and Paul's prized restaurants... and while they were both really good meals... I did like Nona's restaurant more so I did get to experience why she was the winner. So if I had to pick a winner between Nona and Paul based on eating at their restaurants... I would pick Nona. Maybe you should rank the winners based on you eating at their restaurants.
I wish there was a champions Hell's Kitchen but instead of the usual head chef position, have the prize $2 million dollars, 2nd being $500k, black jackets at $100k
I find it interesting how the 3rd place from season 6 wins the rookies vs veterans just goes to show how dominant Kevin and Dave were. Yes in the rookies vs veterans Kevin got eliminated early, but lets be fair he was not the same Kevin as from season 6. If he was I see him winning that season easy.
The problem with arguing that way is that Ariel wasn't the same in 18 as she was in 6. She dominated 18 from the beginning, similar to Megan in 14. You mention how Kevin only got eliminated early because he wasn't the same as he was in 6, but you can say that about almost all the veterans. I don't think season 6 Ariel would have made it to black jackets in season 18 (from what I remember of season 6)
I’m a huge defender if Christina Machamer. Most of her eliminations were BS and you can’t deny that she is a good leader. She’s a better winner than holli personally
Hell's Kitchen is my no. 2 tv series after Game of Thrones. I watched all the seasons of Hell's Kitchen from Season 1 to 20 and the best chef for me is Meghan from Season 14. This woman is really incredible.
Nona is very underrated, she had such a weaker team against Russel, she just seemed very likeable and did well at the blind taste win Paul, Christina M and Michelle were the winners who shouldn't have won
If Russel wasn't an asshole, I would root for him to win over Nona. But that guy kept feuding with Trev most of the time, I know Trev can be annoying most of the time but there was a time that Russel admitted wanted to slap him on TV!
@@Andrewtops781 if they deserved to win based on their finales then did michelle too, she was stronger than benjamin just like paul was stronger than will and christina M was just as strong as petrozza while having more potential thats why they won, tho michelle was overall better than benjamin anyway. get your head out of your ass and stop being biased.
One thing I will say in favor of Nona over Russell that doesn't include a ratings bias, but does bring up a Survivor Jury esque argument. If Russell's personality were tempered, or he had any interpersonal skills, his team would have been more likely to follow his orders to the letter, and that does make Nona a stronger leader and better choice over Russell, especially as a leader, since people would want to work for/with her, much more than the most hated contestant in HK History.
Christina should be number 1, and it isn’t even close. She was the best chef by a mile in Season 10, easily won the season, became a sous chef for Ramsey in Hells Kitchen, and even now runs most of Ramsey restaurants in the US. Ariel is not better then her I’m sorry
Why, out of curiosity, did you rank Heather sooo much more highly than Michael? You said that you felt like the cast was arguably even weaker (which I would agree with). Also, Michael was more consistent in dinner service, I feel.
It was weird that Heather and Rock were ranked so high despite the talent of there seasons arguably being worse than season 1 because Ralph and Micheal run away with tons of seasons and Chris is very underrated and deserved 3rd and could've gone far on other seasons. Micheal is also tied with Dave in terms of consistency in 3rd place( Meghan is 1st and LaTasha is 2nd).
I said it during the elim compilation and I'll say it again Paul deserved the win in S9 almost strictly cause of the speech he gave during the service where he messed up the wedding anniversary. Man had a passion and showed he was a force of nature.
Great list, I really enjoyed this. I'd probably have put Michael higher because he set a precedent for what tactical chefs should do in later seasons, things like him helping the weaker members on the team only spend one service focusing exclusively on his own shows that he was very cunning
The second place guy Ralph helped people alot too. Michael would just take over and do the task. Ralph would genuinely coach people through their task so they learned. I think Michael was the better chef, but I think Ralph definitely could run a kitchen better. He never got upset, and he was great at building team moral all while doing heavy lifting.
I legit think Gordon chose Michael because he just wanted another chef in his Kitchen. Ralph definitely had the skills and mindset to succeed as a restaurant owner, but probably wouldn't settle to be just another chef under Ramsay.
@@andrewbrosnan7195 He found success off the show. Does tv cooking shows, and owns multiple joints in Florida all named "Naked something." @@whichDude One of Ralph's employees, Royce was a contestant on Season 10 so I think it's a good achievement from Ralph for his success being a restauranter to have his employee becomes the contestant on Hell's Kitchen.
Nona is correct to be at the very bottom, I didn't think season 4 Christina should have been so low, but I'm not saying she should have been top 5 or anything. La Tasha was incredible in her season because she was never put up for elimination and consistently delivered each service, so I didn't think she should have been so low either Same goes for Rock, he was in the top 10, but he's top 5 for me I highly rated Meghan but Dave is in a different league to all of these chefs imo, as you said, he literally won hell's kitchen single handedly, while enduring incredible pain he was keeping an incredibly high level of quality and keadership skills. If he had both of his hands he would have been a literally cooking god
Anyone who won Hells Kitchen due likeability, age, or appearance; didn’t really win. If the show was real, more qualified competitors would win. I stand on this based on the fact that many of the winners only got the money, but not the promised jobs they “won” at all or for the long term.
ah yes nona. i remember the show could not stop praising her palette for getting a 4/5 on the blind taste test. every time it needed to build her up. then a few seasons later, a guy got the first ever 5/5 and it was never mentioned again. XD the all stars finale was infuriating. i only watched rookies vs veterans cause the theme interested me, but had no desire to see anything after. esp after learning they did the "3 person finale" again and again. i marathoned so much HK some seasons bled together and others were very forgettable. thinking back on it, Megan really was impressive. and i don't know how i forgot Paul got Elise on his finale team and was able to more or less control her and the other lady she argued with for the win. very cool. Dave will always be my favorite but the one i saw that filled me with the most relief was Ariel Fox just cause i really didn't like Mia at all.
I agree with you that Meghan is #1. She is nearly invincible in that season, especially when you realize there are crazy strong chefs in that season: Michelle, Nick, Milly, Bret, T. Season 14 lineup is really really strong that if you can dominate them, you are the strongest. Dave is incredibly strong chef but in his season, it's like just him and Kevin are in the game.
Michelle at 17?? I'd put her at 5th. Given the fact she had to deal with the most difficult person in HK history in Elise.. Nick was awesome that season but Michelle had proven to be the much more talented chef over and over as said by Chef Ramsey on a continuous basis.. I mean you're gonna put Holli, Latasha, and Ja'nel ahead of her??? You're insane, the only argument against her was her maturity and the fact she quit her gig due to pressure..
Fr 😂, Also she and Christina are the only winners that are still working for Gordon. I mean if we are using the same argument for the association of Gordon to Christina post HK, why it's not the same for Michelle? 🤦
I'd rank Christina Wilson 1 and Heather 2. I feel the opposite about Meghan vs Heather. This isn't survivor sometimes having a terrible cast makes things harder. I think it's harder to work with the bad news bears chefs that Heather dealt with than the dream team Meghan worked with. Sure, Meghan switched to the blue team but that was also a great blue team as you mentioned you thought Nick was robbed in another season.
I have to agree with you on this take. Both the red and blue teams were absolutely horrendous on s2. I couldn't stand seeing how absolutely absurd and terrible they were. Like Giovanni was too mouthy and cocky for how bad he was, Tom was a little bitch about everything, Keith was great, I think he should've made it to the final two instead of Virginia, Giacomo was terrible and fucking stupid, Garrett was good but too angry about everything, Gabe was pretty good but he kept messing everything up, and Larry, I feel like if he didn't get put out due to injury, he could have gone pretty far
As much as I love Dave and Christina, Meghan beats all of them hands down. She was an absolute beast in season 14. Yes Christina and Dave are both legends and no questions asked they're amazing, Meghan just...beats them all. I'd love to see a season of HK with the winners
Scott won purely based off of charisma, the dude was drowning every week. Leadership’s pointless if you aren’t good at the cooking part. I also can’t believe I’m seeing people put anyone above Megan. She was obviously way too overqualified to be there and literally dumpsters every other chef in HK history

And remember the time Antom always blamed him for no reason?

season 14 is so funny to me. it’s like putting the most well trained soldiers in the world, making them fight for a spot as a general, and then making them go against The Predator
I loved Megan's no nonsense/all business attitude. Like when she finally got to go on reward after being cooped up for weeks and it was like parasailing and lunch on a boat and she's like "I hate boats and I hate heights 😑"
And when Ramsay put her on the blue team I remember a montage of each of the girls on the red team being like "now with Megan gone maybe I can be the leader and shine."
Didn't Trenton win?
@@bevanborges4047 I'm talking about season 14 Megan. The one he put as number 1
Also, Megan is kinda anti social as she struggled to explain what she cooked on Black Jacket round while the others explained it casually.

While I personally put Dave in number one just because of how badass winning with a broken arm is, I totally understand why people say Megan is there's. She was an absolute rockstar
Megan was a cheat code in her season…
She just got better and better with each episode and Ramsey loves that
agreed, i dint see anything spectacular or extraordinary
Man, I'd hate if the red team had lost that day, and Christina had gone home over something that wasn't her fault.
I knew Meghan would be in the top haha easily the strongest winner ever. Overall this a great list and very similar to mine. I’m also glad you put Danny that high I think people really forget how consistent he was during his season.
Nah Christina Wilson was the best it was confirmed and she was made head of red team
I watched Season 1-20 of Hell's Kitchen and Meghan of Season 14 has a God-level IQ in the kitchen.
@@TheRockmonkey123 Besides one raw meat in like episode 8 or something like that, what else did Christina did wrong?

Megan is a great too choice though. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone in any season since absolutely dominate like she did. You knew she was a winner very early on in the show, I watched that season just wondering who her competition would be for final 2.
Dave, you can't get any more unique and badass origin story than his.

The One-Armed Bandit will always win
@@williamc7927 Not just one armed, but also probably doped to hell with pain killers! That probably made him less assertive on occasion.

Funny how the second and third place of s6 both got a second chance and the only one who didn’t get a win was Kevin 😂
Megan was definitely the best winner, s14 had so many strong cooks (T, Michelle, Milly and nick) but she was just on a level above. Rock solid from the start of the season, and carried her team throughout the season in dinner services….probably made one mistake in the entire season and immediately bounced back
Christina was the best winner! Hands down!
Rock made 8 mistakes, not all of which he "immediately" bounced back from.
and actually i would say any one from season 14 top 8 can outnumber the black jackets in season 15
I couldn’t handle Michelle she was so damn annoying
Yeah, and her one miss-steak, of all the things, was a “f-king” raw New York strip.
Paula did not win but clearly a very strong chef. season five could’ve easily been a draw
I agree her and Danny were both very consistent
Just too bad she wasn't brought back for either the All Stars or Rookies vs Veterans series. I actually would have loved to have seen Julia in the All Stars as well & was bummed she didn't return for it.
Yeah, s5 and s6 were two seasons were the finals could've just ended in ties and people would still be happy
@@Brent-Tanabe she is too strong to compete again. She has nothing to prove.
@Golden Coin I can’t believe she is now a chubby lesbian
Why Meghan is the best
1. Has great skills and palette
2. Has great leadership
3. Carried her teams, both in red and blue team
4. The red team was happy when she was switched to blue cuz it meant they get a chance to shine
5. Only made one mistake when she was working MEAT station on a STEAK night, when there were only 3 people in the team.
6. Ramsay and her team was genuinely shocked when she made a mistake
7. Her team always come to her for help, checking flavor, temperature, etc
8. Did not dwell into drama
9. Carried her team in challenges
Your point 5, she had 14 steaks order, yet she only screwed up once and bounced back real fast. She really is the goat of all Hell’s Kitchen
You know how resilient Dave was when he got one of his arms taped up yet still won the season.
Season 17 started off good and it ended so horribly. Benjamin or Nick should've been the champion. Michelle was like season 9's Paul.
Benjamin is my least favorite runner-up. So annoying, I feel like Ramsay should have brought back someone else instead of him
@@meddagoat I say that with Elisa like Elise is nothing but rudeness

It would be really interesting to have a season where the 20 winners compete. I think that it would make a pretty interesting season, especially seeing someone win 2 seasons.
That would be amazing in retrospect, but probably none of them would go through this again because they are all established at this point
I'm so glad that Meghan being considered the best winner is almost unanimous. I dont think there has ever been a winner with such a clean run and win. Easily the most skilled contestant on the show ever.
I feel like people always forget about Kori, but she went up against a really strong cast of chefs. Great video btw!
Had Ralph won, he'd be top 5 easily. Man was a complete and total tank.
Paul did something super smart in his final dinner service. He picked Elise first, knowing that she would fight harder for him by doing so. Say what you want about Elise, but credit where it belongs. She kicked ass for Paul in that season finale.
Yeah I would have done the same. Either pick her first or dont pick her at all (if you're picking first)
Agree. She may not have a great attitude, but she is a beast on the line. She came through for Michelle in All Stars too.
Elise can cook for sure!
Elise definitely deserved to stay longer then Jamie and Carrie and Elisabeth and maybe even Jennifer
Hell’s Kitchen was just another day at work
😂
Honestly coming here back after battle of the ages I think Alex is probably one of the strongest winners on the season because of how dominant he was during his season, probably top five in my opinion.
I remember being very happy when alex won his season. He was a better chef and leader than dafne and thought he deserved it 100% but I also thought he may not win solely cause of his age. But he won despite being 40, the first 40 something winner. And no dought was the best 40 something on s21.
Also Christina Machamer was a Culinary Student when she won which is interesting, only time a culinary student won HK I think
Rochelle could've won season 12 but she was up against Jason and Scott
I was wondering why season 1 Michael wasn’t higher but then I remembered that Ralph was literally his only threat.
I feel that but micheal was a beast in the kitchen nonetheless
He probably wouldve had a #4 spot in my eyes , itd be meghan , cristina , dave and micheal
Don't forget Michael is the master of sabotage. When he sabotaged Ralph for giving the crab risotto without the crab inspired Chef Ramsay to do the same on future seasons to test the Black Jackets whether they paid attention or not.

I feel like most of Season 17 eliminations were scripted
I mean
Ben left due to health issues(which I understand)
Ashley left for looking at her watch
Giovanni left in cook for your life despite Robyn doing far worse
Van left for not communicating once while Barbie and Elise did way worse(in the next episode Elise even pointed out how BS his elimination was)
Dana for messing up once
Jennifer in black jacket challenge
I think they wanted another female winner or because Michelle was the youngest Gordon wanted to take advantage of it.
Agree
This is why anything with "All-Stars" on every Tv show is always the worse. Not just Hell's Kitchen, that also happened to America's Next Top Model when one of the contestants of that season got disqualified because she was an escort and she announced she was the winner. And the winner, just like Michelle, was underwhelming and did not deserve to win.
I agree Michelle just never really stood out to me in either season. I think Gordon picks some the younger ones because they are easier to mold

If I were to rank the winners:
1. Dave Levey (Obviously, being a beast while dealing with a broken wrist, and dominated the season along with Kevin, similar to Meghan and T in S14)
2. Meghan Gill (One of the best for her likeability and skill)
3. Christina Wilson (Despite the rocky first service, a true leader, and her ability)
4. Ariel Fox (Was happy to see her and Kevin return. Also, she was MUCH better in S18 than S6 as she didn't have a bad service in S18)
5. Danny Veltri (Loved his enthusiasm, humor, and just being a great chef overall)
6. Heather West (Despite the lack of competition, she was a powerhouse. Plus, bonus points for still commanding the kitchen while suffering from a bad burn)
7. Kori Sutton (Kori was a surprisingly great chef in S19. Though, I still think Declan was screwed over from making the final two, Kori was deserving in the end)
8. Rock Harper (Just one phrase, rock solid)
9. Scott Cummings (Despite inconsistency, he stood out WAY more than most winners. Plus, I will argue the best leader in HK history. And just a likeable, nice guy, and badass in the kitchen)
10. Kimberly-Ann Ryan (Great skill and passion, but lacked leadership for me)
11. Paul Niedermann (While loved his passion and skill, like you, this season is hard to judge, because of Elise)
12. Holli Ugalde (Despite not being a great leader, she was one of the best service performers I've seen on the show)
13. Christina Machamer (Despite her inconsistency and the fact Petrozza should've won, she was really good in her own right, and stood out much more. Plus, the most likeable red team member of the season for me)
14. Michelle Tribble (While Nick should've won, she did hold her own this season. Especially, with dealing with Elise's BS)
15. LaTasha McCutchen (I agree with you. Despite being solid throughout, definitely forgettable)
16. Ja'Nel Witt (Similar to you, doesn't stand out much. I still feel Jon should've won, had he been 10% a better leader. Plus, her drug test failure knocks her down for me)
17. Trenton Garvey (Didn't watch much of S20, so I can't judge too much. Other than the fact he broke the male-winless streak of 7 seasons in HK)
18. Michael Wray (Same as you, too much of an advantage, and lack of competition)
19. Nona Sivley (I hated S8 for Russell and Sabrina so much. However, Nona was solid, despite inconsistency. I do agree that if Russell was not a douche, he wins)

Now we need a season where all the winners come back and they face off against each other
Megan is by far my favorite winner on the show. Beside her culinary talents and skills, I also for some reason found her very relatable.

Ja'nel's shining moment was when the world found out she was a coke head
I always prefer Nona over Paul... the reason for that I'm a bit bias for Nona over Paul is because out of all the winners... I went out of my way to eat at Nona and Paul's prized restaurants... and while they were both really good meals... I did like Nona's restaurant more so I did get to experience why she was the winner. So if I had to pick a winner between Nona and Paul based on eating at their restaurants... I would pick Nona.

Yes in the rookies vs veterans Kevin got eliminated early, but lets be fair he was not the same Kevin as from season 6. If he was I see him winning that season easy.
T as well
The problem with arguing that way is that Ariel wasn't the same in 18 as she was in 6.

It's kind of funny that Holli beat Jay but he's the one who has returned as Ramsay's sous chef for the blue team
Christina should be number 1, and it isn’t even close. She was the best chef by a mile in Season 10, easily won the season, became a sous chef for Ramsey in Hells Kitchen, and even now runs most of Ramsey restaurants in the US.
Ariel is not better then her I’m sorry
You’re lying to yourself if you can’t admit that Megan washes literally every chef on the list
I said it during the elim compilation and I'll say it again
Paul deserved the win in S9 almost strictly cause of the speech he gave during the service where he messed up the wedding anniversary.
Man had a passion and showed he was a force of nature.
NONA didn't exactly have a lot of competition in Season 8 & RUSSELL made a Complete Ass Out Of Himself
@@whichDude true I'm only just remembering now the tactical eliminations and all that. Ralph always seemed like a genuine dude
@@andrewbrosnan7195 He found success off the show. Does tv cooking shows, and owns multiple joints in Florida all named "Naked something." He did almost die from a kitchen explosion that covered his hands and face. His face looks fine now, but he does still have scarred up hands. He seems to be fine though.
I know Michael was trying a Go Fund Me for a food truck. Not sure what happened after that. He had a rough life after the show. He was a massive opioid addict
@@whichDude One of Ralph's employees, Royce was a contestant on Season 10 so I think it's a good achievement from Ralph for his success being a restauranter to have his employee becomes the contestant on Hell's Kitchen.
If Michelle has anything to go by, her victory caused Elise to cry which was so satisfying after all the shananigans she caused
Nona is correct to be at the very bottom,
I didn't think season 4 Christina should have been so low, but I'm not saying she should have been top 5 or anything.
La Tasha was incredible in her season because she was never put up for elimination and consistently delivered each service, so I didn't think she should have been so low either
Same goes for Rock, he was in the top 10, but he's top 5 for me
I highly rated Meghan but Dave is in a different league to all of these chefs imo, as you said, he literally won hell's kitchen single handedly, while enduring incredible pain he was keeping an incredibly high level of quality and keadership skills.
XD
the all stars finale was infuriating. i only watched rookies vs veterans cause the theme interested me, but had no desire to see anything after. esp after learning they did the "3 person finale" again and again.
i marathoned so much HK some seasons bled together and others were very forgettable. thinking back on it, Megan really was impressive. and i don't know how i forgot Paul got Elise on his finale team and was able to more or less control her and the other lady she argued with for the win. very cool. Dave will always be my favorite but the one i saw that filled me with the most relief was Ariel Fox just cause i really didn't like Mia at all.
When I realized that Petrozza passed away in 2019, I actually felt really sad that he didn't win
Elsie probably could've won season one if she wasn't sabotaged imo
I agree with you that Meghan is #1. She is nearly invincible in that season, especially when you realize there are crazy strong chefs in that season: Michelle, Nick, Milly, Bret, T. Season 14 lineup is really really strong that if you can dominate them, you are the strongest.
Dave is incredibly strong chef but in his season, it's like just him and Kevin are in the game.
Ariel van and Tenille were strong but we're on a downward spiral
Great ranking my 3 favorite chefs of all time were #6, #2 and #1 👍👍👍👍👍
Michelle at 17?? I'd put her at 5th. Given the fact she had to deal with the most difficult person in HK history in Elise.. Nick was awesome that season but Michelle had proven to be the much more talented chef over and over as said by Chef Ramsey on a continuous basis.. I mean you're gonna put Holli, Latasha, and Ja'nel ahead of her??? You're insane, the only argument against her was her maturity and the fact she quit her gig due to pressure..
I guess that was the main reason for her win.
Fr 😂, Also she and Christina are the only winners that are still working for Gordon. I mean if we are using the same argument for the association of Gordon to Christina post HK, why it's not the same for Michelle? 🤦
By this logic Paul should be top 3 lmao
Glad you put Meghan top she was ridiculously consistent it was scary
S10 Christina now runs most of his businesses in Vegas and is a Sous Chef for Gordon.
Love how Danny was ranked high despite what happened to him after he won
@Raven Balcom He dropped the position at Borgata because he ended being the Sous Chef & then got into DUI trouble
Christina is not the best winner ever. Being an icon is not grounds for you being the best.
Nevermind. There was no Giovanni that season
Meghan wanted to ragequit because there were so many sandbags on her team lol
exactly, she really wasn't as amazing as the top 3 but she was very good. @@anonymousperson3023
As much as I love Dave and Christina, Meghan beats all of them hands down. She was an absolute beast in season 14. Yes Christina and Dave are both legends and no questions asked they're amazing, Meghan just...beats them all. I'd love to see a season of HK with the winners
Season 6 dinner Dave was my favorite winner of all time. Great list!
Not true
Your list is pretty good. But I would have Christina at #1 an Paul definitely at the bottom.
I agree with your rankings 100 percent. Great analysis.
