Do you love the Grand Californian?

Absolutely. Can't afford it, but I love to walk through the lobby and visit some of the restaurants inside. Great theming, like a miniature Wilderness Lodge.

Not worth the premium nightly rate IMO. Stayed in late 2021 and the room was extremely dated with a malfunctioning thermostat. I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge a bunch in the mid to late 90s and the GC room we stayed in looked exactly like a WL room from that era with no modern updates besides a flat screen TV.

Yes! First in 2011, then in 2022 - my last hotel room and stay was every bit as good as it was a decade earlier!

I’ve stayed in that room! You can see fireworks from there! The downtown music is nice to hear…unless they forget to turn it off at night 😜

Thanks for this. I've stayed in The Wilderness Lodge but never the Grand Californian so I wasn't too sure how different they would be. I loved the Wilderness Lodge circa 2019 but am not thrilled what changes they've made in the last year. Your tour had me a bit concerned at the start, the bathroom and entry looked no different then the new ( in my opinion, downgraded ) Wilderness Lodge rooms, but once you moved into the bedroom I was impressed. This room may have the Wilderness Lodge beat, especially with the artwork as well as that wall mural that continued the vines. I'm glad you caught the Lindquist reference. I always feel bad when people don't know those things. Super Obscure reference here but the orange grove that is now Disneyland was merged in 1953 between the "California Fruit Growers Exchange" and "Sunkist", forming a combine until the Sunkist buyout could be completed, which it never was due to Disney buying the land.

It's amazing to me that the same project that gave us the original DCA, Superstar Limo and all, also gave us this gem of a resort (not to mention the entire Grizzly Peak area in general, which has come to be my favorite area of Disneyland Resort). I also think the artwork in the bathroom adds a nice, subtle touch of Disney character without going over the top (could you imagine if they "Contemporary'd" this resort?)

Is it me or is that one very dull bedroom, especially considering how much the location of the hotel will attract premium prices? I’m on vacation in CA next week from the UK and my humble hotel room (directly opposite the main DL entrance on S.Harbour Blvd) will be just as nice and a whole lot less expensive.

I mean it's a nice enough room, although I'm sure WAY out of my price range, but even so I don't think I'd pay the upgrade cost for that view, it's nice I"m sure but at the end of the day ... well at the end of the day is probably the only time I'm really going to spend much time in the room.

Crazy to me this is often more expensive than park/pool partial view that we always get.

Downtown Disney and the pool views are the best. I dont care for the DCA view as they tend to be blocked by trees.
