I am glad you clarifyed 17 vol. I was not sure if 3 more included 15 or started after 15. Personally I feel that he should of extended to 19 vol... but that's more Dark Tower OCD talking than anything else. Pacing wise I do not know what I would believe but 17 seems weirdly few to me. I mean I have finished Shield hero WN; Reincarnated as a Slime WN; and Mushoku Tensei WN (as far as I know) and each were 20 something volumes. I also know the endless mess better known as Bringing farm with me to another world and its MC Zhao Hai... over 1500 chapters and I had to give up on it ever ending before the Author dies. OP loop of getting more OP just so he can be more OP... no hard limits in place so so no clue where or even if the author wants to end it. I might be complaining here but its earlier half is worth the read. For about 700-800 chapters he was reasonable and you could believe he was capable of dying. So its after that point when I felt he could not be threatened ever that the story is fine if you like full blown power sci fi fantasy.
Vol 14 is a riot. so much chaos is what I mean. The whole dragon warrior +barrier stuff felt 100% unneeded to me. Where it should of been Vol 15 and in its place something else... something less confusing and abrupt. Until this video I had once again forgotten this vol almost entirely because it had no central focus that held my attention. Brain fight and Rener stuff and Philips comeupence were great and I liked them but my mind shuffles those events into other volumes for some reason. So vol 14 is riot and no one really knows anything specific about a riot... its simple madness. Its by default my least liked vol because my memory would rather associate its good parts to other volumes. But its Overlord so still not a bad volume comparatively to other series I have read. Kuma(X3) Bear is an example of something that had worse vol. but then again I like that one because its chill not for the story.
I always figured that a kingdom would get destroyed it would be re-estize. It was just hanging by a thread on the brink of civil. Plus Ainz basically pulled what Jircniv but with a country instead of the nobility.
I could see him going out to the floating city mainly because of the foreshadowing Evileye mentioned about the book that contains every spell being located there, and since Climb was present for that revelation there is a thread for him to follow. Given that the author has changed the number of intended volumes a few times it wouldn't strike me as out of place, also we can't ignore the idea that this story will end as the author originally planned out as ideas change over time some things get added during the creative process outside of the original outline.
Incredible review made me think that perhaps Pandora's Actor truly is a level apart from everyone else in the intelectual side (or just unique), as if his capabilities where the spitting image of his own character build. Adaptable. He's probably the most adaptable and flexible character out there in and outside the battlefield. I wish Maruyama would release more often smaller novels because I feel like he's getting kinda burned out (very common in authors writing long works) which is sad, but, writing shorter and more incisive stories tends to be easier on the creative brain.
I think the producers, cant recall the exact title, are pressuring him to keep writing Overlord books. This is all my own thoughts but he probably isn't getting paid a lot because they're so many hands in the pot. If what I think is true then the reason he lashed out on the fans a couple years ago is because he couldn't shit talk the higher ups you know what I mean
I'd honestly prefer him taking a long break and coming back. But y'know burnout is a hard thing to get rid of and maybe a break wont bring back the passion
Yea he need to just take a break entirely from fantasy for a abit. Just put a pause on the whole genre and look at other material. Then perhaps he can apply some of what he learned into Overlord one day. Would rather an ambiguous ending then any unsatisfying ones.
I really hope he would introduce other mentioned characters as he teased a lot of and they never appear As for the ending, I think focusing on characters in the New World would be better than a large concept ending or Ainz's Real World
I have a lot of thoughts, but I feel ainz will just keep them busy in a corner as to not be able to do anything that would upset him because he knows they don't agree with all his actions. And if they even show there unhappy Albedo will go cray cray like she does.

I don't think climb will ever be allowed to meet sebas, because 1 that would make renner a liar since she told him he died, and 2 sebas would take some of climb's attention away from her which she wouldn't want I mean sebas would have gladly been there to oversee pestonia resurrecting him but I'm pretty sure renner knows sebas is in nazarick and she would request for him not to show himself to climb, she already requested of pestonia not to heal him so she could nurse him herself so the former isn't such a stretch

I would be extremely upset if he didn't finish overlord this is literally my favorite anime besides claymore but this anime is interesting I love the good and dark side of it at the volumes need to be finished sure there are loose ends and I don't want him rushing but I would love if he finishes the story

When I read the volume it was such a shock that I didn't even think he died like I thought he was just knocked, that's how much I liked him. I only really realized he was dead because of this video that it knocked me off my own denial but now that I'm not that shocked anymore I really do think that his death was very fitting so at the very least I'm glad he wasn't disrespected and when I think about it now there really was no way Brain would have survived the series or joined Nazarick, like what focused obsession said.

He is not burnt out. He was disappointed previously because of the leaks that happened before thats why he decides to cut it short.
