I always enjoy your unboxing videos! Such a great set of thoughtful gifts. I'm impressed you're keeping duplicate duck stamps in the family by sharing them in trades! Thanks for showing us all your new finds. I'm always excited to see a new video released on your channel. :)

Woah! What generous gifts you receive. Can't believe those old Canadian stamps! The beaver one is one I hope to get someday. I love that stamp. I'd sport a shirt with it on the front...but apparently no one makes that. I've looked. I used to adore going to 1/2 price books when I was young. These days, most prices are higher than what I can find used books for online, though:/ What a score finding a signed Harry Chapin book, though! Wow!

Your little son will be a fantastic investor, that´s for sure. 😉Why ? Because he bought a PEZ dispenser in it´s original packaging and started an awesome collection of quarters which means that he can get some pre ´64 silver coins by coin roll hunting. If you multiply those dimes, quarters and half dollars with twenty, you´ll get the realistic value. E.g. a 1964 Kennedy Half is worth around ten bucks because of the silver value. 🤑Keep it up, and see you on the next one ! 🖐Greets from GER, U.

I loved seeing your trip to the store! The coin books are great, and the Pez dispenser is awesome! And that snazzy blue recorder is so much nicer than the one I had at school! That will be fun to play. A special thank you to your son for sharing his finds with us. I really enjoyed seeing them. :)

I really enjoyed this video. I have not listened to Harry Chapin for many, many years so I paused the video and listened. I did so surrounded by my children and a grandchild. So, I smiled and I quietly thanked my Dad for collecting stamps with me over thirty years ago.

It's a great thing to nurture young collectors. I started collecting when I was 8 or 9 my friends and I would walk to a local coin show one time a friend I was with bought a buffalo nickle for 4 cents epic deal never to be forgot.

Focus your collection is good advice if that is what you wish to do. Having a more general, worldwide collection is good advice if that is what you wish to do. Basically, do what works for you. I get a little….miffed(?) when I am told I HAVE to specialize. Enjoy the hobby, whatever that means for you😉. In terms of the Stanley Gibbons album, I guess I am of a different mindset. It is a gorgeous album and I would leave it as is and build/add to it.

Wow.... nice QV 50 cent issue ! If you decide you don't need it in your collection, that space in my Canada album just happens to be blank.... ;-) Thanks for another fine video for our Philately hobby !

Like you I love the hunt…..mostly in past years with antiques. In my area I can only find occasional philatelic books and auction catalogs. Look forward to your enthusiasm for stamps and more every Saturday. Thank you! By a coincidence I am currently reading PKD “ flow my tears….” Also in paperback. Keep up the good work.

His concept of 'historicity' in The Man in the High Castle perfectly explains stamp collecting to me...

@@silkontheweb next on the reading list then. Oddly one of the characters in “flow my tears….” Receives a trans- Mississippi $1 stamp (mint). Maybe Phil collected.

Enjoyed the video, as always. I can see that I need to locate some Half-Price Bookstores! I kinda live in the boonies, so that will be something of an expedition! Love it that your son is getting excited about collecting and that's something you can share. Well, what can I say: BIG envy on those gorgeous stamps! The unused Canadian Victoria Jubilees are a treasure, for sure. I just sold a set of 4 of those, one mint hinged and 3 cancelled, but I never had the 50 cent. That's a $375 stamp -- or double that value if never hinged. Someone must like you an awful lot! Beautiful. Love the Bourne Heads, too: the Brits were unmatched in their stamp artistry, IMHO. And the ship stamps! I'm looking forward to watching that video, as I just started collecting ship stamps, focusing on pre-1940s worldwide, but interested in all of them. Canada has some lovely ship stamps. I'm about to do some trading in my stamp club -- trains for ships.

You should get your son the set of recent French Pokemon stamps. It might get him into stamp collecting. I recently started collecting pokemon cards. It's so expensive! My OCD is forcing me to complete the set I started. However, the effort is taking me away from stamps. So frustrating!

I was not familiar with Half Price Books so I looke them up online and the nearest store to me is 300 miles away. Too far to travel for books. Lol! Have you ever checked out Thrift Books? I have bought several books from them online and was very pleased. I loved Harry Chapin especially the song "Taxi".

I just looked up Philip Dick on Thrift Books and they have lots of his books including Dr. Blood Money for $15.58. So that is a possibility for the future.
