Re idea one, the bag with the half square triangles. Really lovely. I would probably leave my gap along the last bottom seam that will form the inside of the bag though, that way my top edge would all be machine sewed. You could also add a bit of HS40 to make it feel a bit more substantial and b3 less floppy.

Am writing this before watching the whole video. But, the first bag is such a pretty pattern that looks quite easy to make. Am going to have to make a few of them. You're the first person I've seen leave a gap when sewing in bag linings, around the TOP edge! Everyone else always leaves a gap in the bottom of the lining....but I always top stitch my bags around the top edge ANYWAY, which would automatically seal any gap left in the top! Therefore a gap left at the top is so much easier, and is also much easier to hide too. If you leave a gap in the bottom you have no choice but to hand sew it shut, or just machine stitch across it and rely on it being inside the bottom of the bag to keep it hidden, which a LOT of people do, and it works fine. But this way ends up looking so much more professional. I've been sewing years, and it never even occurred to me to leave the gap at the top! 😳 Why didn't I know this????????? 🤔 What I DO know now is that I'm so glad I watched this... I'm quite blown away actually, I didn't think I had any more of these types of tips to learn. Subscribed! Well impressed! And by the way I loved all 3 projects, but particularly loved how incredibly neat your work is. There's a lot on here who do make lovely things, but their work is shoddy if you examine it up close, especially dresses etc. Cut out very roughly with uneven edges tucked into the hems etc. Yeah the finished dress may be pretty, but it's hiding a lot of sloppiness. I appreciate your dedication to precision. Beautiful work! 😘😘😘

I have been trying to see what kind of sewing machine you have. I need to buy me a new sewing machine and I don’t know what kind to buy. They have so many new ones out now.
