This is exactly the perfect type of guide for newbies or older returning players like myself that just can't wrap our heads around what each ability is , what it does and when best to use it. That's why we just use Revo (Revo÷÷) I know this video was difficult to make but these types of very detailed guides about the ability bar are desperately needed ! Other videos are zoomed out and they just spew out what they are doing. You can't see what is actually happening. Seeing each ability up close and slowed down too is an absolute gem! This was very much appreciated and would love many more videos exactly like this covering melee and mage too if possible. Thanks either way !
Tossing this info out there. If you kill kalgerion demons they have a 1/1k chance of dropping an adrenaline urn which can sit in your inv or pocket slot. It stores up to 1000% adrenaline and when off it is storing adrenaline and when you activate it anytime your adrenaline would drain it instead drains slowly from the urn while keeping your needed adrenaline from lowering at all. So you dont even have to adrenaline stall for a while, but i suggest stalling some just so it dont empty as fast. Also on Vindicta make sure to activate resonance right after the melee hit so after the rotation using devotion, resonance will be ready on the following rotation. If off time you will just have to use range prayer. Practice.
I don't PvM at all and watched quite a few guides to see if I can ease myself into it. I usually end up feeling like it's too hard/confusing and move on. Different story here. Everything makes sense and I'm going to have a go as soon as I can!
Man i was hyped when i saw you get the Golden Gnome nomination. I took a pretty big break from rs3, about 4-5 years. And when i came back on my ironman your guided helped me relearn a bunch of stuff. You genuinely deserve it mate
Great video! Just a tip in the clips it looks like you're activating an ability after snipe and after rapid fire too quickly, you have to wait with snipe until you see the animation fire your arrow and then use an ability and with rapid fire you have to wait till the ability is done channeling, this will increase your damage A LOT!
I have been practicing on Vindicta for about 250kc trying new builds and combat styles. This was really refreshing to watch! Super awesome tip about adrenaline stalling. That is huge!!
Note on the resonance. Make sure the attack hits you first (and heals you) before switching back to your weapon otherwise you will still take the damage But fantastic guide for people new to pvm
I'm not sure if this is just different in rs3, but in osrs prayer flicking actually refers to a tick manipulation technique that makes your prayer points last forever if you execute it perfectly. I would call the swapping between prayers to match the boss's attack prayer switching. Just a nitpicky thing. Awesome video though!
Nice one Jim. You're right Vindi is a good one to learn on, Helwyr is the best for learning reso/devo IMO and was where I learned those mechanics. Maybe for the next one you can cover debilitate and reflect, both really useful defensive abilities. Also make sure you don't cancel your channeled abilities (especially rapid fire 🙂)
I thought it was a great guide for getting into pvm! But I did scroll the comments to see if anyone posted this yet lol. Definitely don't prematurely cancel abilities like rapid fire, snipe, assault, etc. You will lose massive DPS! If you are on revo you do want to click your next ability after the channeled ability/threshold has finished otherwise it will lag a tick before using the next ability
perfect vid jim! I learned my switches and res at vindy and helwyr lmfao but optimal ability/ultimate rotations is what I've been stuck on. this was extremely helpful!
If your on ranged Dw like the vid from a 100% start, swift with vigour, needle, snipe, cancel with corruption shot, needle, tendrils, frag shot walk the boss, needle, snap and so on
I have side buttons on my mouse like you mentioned for prayer flicking, but runescape doesn't accept them as anything i can bind to. What do I do with that?
For aod, it is best to just move away from the alagamations and res nex's basic attacks with deflect/protect prayers off for a juicy heal. Other wise, pretty helpful. You have to be 5 spaces away from them before they spawn. Being on the line that the ice walls spawn on is the perfect spot to stand
Its kind of funny I used to play RS back in ..2005? And on and off until around 2012-2013. In that I had..3 accounts? Maybe 4? And they were decent skilled and whatnot but the funniest thing was beacuse I was so young I was really oblivious to the rest of the game. Sure I was ''skilling'' but I really didnt knew how much of the game was out there until I came back this year on my account and re-subbed. I was like.. THERE THIS PLACE?! I CAN DO WHAT NOW?! BOSSES WTF?! ABILITIES?! Man its so much to take in, and I come from 10 years of playing WoW... I guess I really missed RS in terms of progression. In WoW you do an entire zone quest and current time it unlocks.. well nothing. You progress in a bland story and get mediocre rewards for doing well nothing. In RS I complete a quest, even a short and easy on and it unlocks an area, or a weapon, item etc that I couldnt use before that now gives me a decent advantage. I wish more games adapted RS Skilling man..
Hey! Just watching the video now! do you do manual? It kind of looked like from the clips that you revo? I would love to know, maybe you have a video about it, I am not sure as I just found your content!
Coming from OSRS, this is a lot to take in xD In time I will learn, however! Just got my Kiln Cape, so maybe soon I will be able to make use of all the tips in this video :D
Creating a fully mapped keyboard to play in full manual is worth the time. What I personally do is have all of my abilities for all of my combat styles mapped in the same order. So when I swap styles, regardless of the style I'm using, be it mage or range, my corruption ability is still always mapped to "F". Similarly, I match abilities that roughly do the same thing and slot them on the same keybind, so that I can swap styles and my map is about 90% the same between them. I now don't use revo at all, and tbh, I can't even remember what it's like to play with it. I highly recommend everyone at least attempt to play with a full manual.
if you stand far away enough from the amalgamation you dont need to resonance the hit, just stand 1 tile away from the ice that spawns (that divides the room into quadrants)
You and waswere are my favourite new comers. Where the link on being a patreon? Jad is probably the best boss to learn prayer flick on since once you screw up its instant death. You'll become a master prayer flicker learning to tank jad since you need to anticipate how npc fights as well as stay calm and focus.
Hi, love your content. Just a correction, switching your prayers is not what is traditionally known as "prayer flicking." That is a technique used (mostly) in old school to activate your prayer just as the hit is coming in to save on prayer points.
when you get into speed killing you eventually just use soul split most of the kill for most bosses and pray flick on the hard hits you know you will take.
You canceled snipe and rapid fire. Don't use your next ability until you get your full hits from these abilities. You can check your buff bar once you use it for the timer that will show how long is left for all the hits to go through.
True that was sad to see..u can’t just cancel one of the best abilities for range. Also he used snipe canceled it and didn’t needle strike before rapid fire. If u r gonna cancel snipe anyway it’s better to use needle strike and go ham with rapid fire.
Unless your attacking a stunned or bound enemy which vindicta isn't you shouldn't ever use piercing shot, let alone spamming it like you were, you want prioritise your main 4 high damage basics which are corruption shot, fragmentation shot, needle/dazing and snipe and you also want to prioritise tuskas wrath over binding shot and sacrifice over ricochet, unless you can hit multiple targets. I would recommend you check out pvme discord for good rotations. Not a bad video for beginners but with vindy you should be able to out heal the ranged hit with soul split after a bit of practice.
Meh, 1.dont have tuskas cba getting it and 2. I dont pay too much attention to abilities that aren't my rotation because again cant be bothered i use binding/ricochet/sacrifice as a means to get adren up and thats it. I'm not concerned with milking every inch of damage.
"Vindicta in my opinion is the best boss in the game to learn fundamental pvm mechanics." I cant agree with that. Helwyr is much better cuz you are switching ss and melee protect. You can reso his 2nd spec att and for 3rd you use devo. If he spwans his wolfs and you wont kill them with aoe, reso timing is so important. I recommend it to everyone try helwyr with melee. I have over 1,5k kills on vindi and I never had to use devo or reso.
@@lasersharks understandable, I mentioned it cause debilitate is such a huge ability, and make such a huge difference, and it can be used everywhere and is almost a must to use at bosses for new players. But I understand the info overload.

What if I place my threshold abilities on my revolution bar? Can i get some good damage with that tactic??
Ehhhhhhhhh i suppose but they would go off randomly and you have control over your adrenaline
