Pinaka Mk2 ER with a range over 90 kms and Pinaka Mk3 with a range of over 150-160 kms will greatly help bridge the asymmetrical gap between us and China. Over 150-160 kms, Conventional Short Range Ballistic Missiles (SRBMs) like Prahaar, Pranash and Pralay as well as Cruise Missiles like Brahmos, Brahmos ER, Nirbhay and LRLACM can take over. This will be a big deterrence to China.

The solid fuel is highly efficient and can provide more energy compared to the fuel used in Agni missile series. Does this mean the Agni series of missiles can have their range extended by using the new propellant? And also by switching to complete carbon fiber stages instead of using maraging steel first stage. It seems Agni series can hit intercontinental range even without a new Agni 6.
