Craig's show to me was always very funny. Look at the response from random people and how genuine he is and how relaxed they are. It's great to see his show again in day time and not drift in and out because it use to start at 12:30 am. I caught his stand up act while in Nashville, he did a great job and everyone truly enjoyed him because he is so down home.
I'm from Ireland and my kids have left home and live in England when we visit them I can hear all their Englishness in their speech but funny thing is when we all get together the all regress back to their original accent and when they come home after a few days they are back in their mother tongue and having lived away from home a lot myself you have to moderate your speech for others to understand,so I fully understand how Craig feels and how he wishes he could return to his original Scottish accent and I'm sure after a few weeks he would be able to adopt his patter back
Unfortunately, Craig's accent faded with the time. This is a fact. I wish he could restore his accent even if it was just for the intro part of his show. It was really something! ;)
Actually he's very happy here. But he'll always love where he's from. It's natural for him to get excited to see other Scots, it doesn't mean he wants to move back.
Same with Ireland. We love our country but in our childhood we kinda learn that if you want to make it big in this world you have to go to England or america like our ancestors.
I love how Craig's accent really comes out when he's around other Scotsman.

Watch videos of Craig on youtube from 1989-1991 and you won't understand a word he says. I mean it.
I wish I had a Scottish accent and kilt.
