In an alternate reality, Hakusho Daimao & The Samurai Pizza Cats, a the Big “Seymour” Cheese, along with Phoenix Wright & Amaterasu are in the American version of Tatsunoko Vs Capcom as well as the Japanese version, but with SonSon & Gawl.
In another alternate reality, 'Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2' would've been released in 2017 instead of 'Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite', and would feature Braiking Boss (Casshern) and Sigma (Mega Man X) merging in order to rid both of their worlds of organic life... only to be stopped by the combined efforts of Dan Hibiki (Street Fighter Alpha) and Hiyoko Isshuu (Tentomushi No Uta). The game would spark controversy when an interview with Capcom PR representatives had them state that "these characters aren't just functions" when asked why the developers decided not to remove some of the blatantly overpowered Capcom characters that were ported from 'Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3', along with saying "Your modern Tatsunoko fan, maybe they don't even remember some of the 'Samurai Pizza Cats' characters" in spite of numerous fan requests.
Hakushon Daimao was a surprise to me, I thought he was a poor fighter, but I realized that the attacks of Hakushon are very good and if used the right way, you can become a great player with Hakushon. About Viewtiful Joe, in my opinion, punches and kicks are much better than the special moves.

I've heard that Daimao had weird moves and that Joe didn't hit that hard. What's your opinion on these guys? Are they good, or did they annoy most of the time ?
Well, unfortunately, that was confirmed by Capcom, but then "re-formulated" as "we are looking to include this". Guess they didn't want to confirm something, but after that getting dozens of complains because they didn't include that "something" in the end.
The way u play as Hakushon is just AWESOME. I really wish he was in Ultimate All-Stars after watching these fights. He looks like a fun character. BTW, could you possibly do arcade mode with Hakushon and Doronjo?

i think daimaou dissapearence in the US ver has to do more with copyrights than anything else cuz if the fighting style was the case, then doronjo wont b there either.

@AceJunior1128 Nah, if you looked at the roster for the Japanese, they got one MORE Tatsunoko character than Capcom so since Capcom was against just making another character, they took out the most underused of them all in accordance to the Japanese (I thought it was gonna be Ippatsuman after TRYING to fight with him), and chose Hakushon. Remember Amigo on Marvel vs. Capcom 2? He was a joke but he still worked. Also Doronjo's not the most serious of fighters either so that's not why he's gone.
@GIR177 I don't know much about the homebrew, I installed it when my wii was at version 3.2 with bug of twilight princess. In other versions like 4.0, I don't know how to install homebrew, but try searching on the Internet, surely you will find some tutorial about it.

You might not like him, probably because you spent zero time playing with, but Hakushon Daimao's removal from Tatsunoko vs Capcom was solely due to the anime series being licensed in a completely different region. Capcom would've had to pay royalties to even release th game worldwide and they did not want to do that, mostly due to them not desiring to go along with the specific company that held the rights to Hakushon Daimao. And you must really not have played this game. All the Yatterman characters have insane playstyles, Karas is a demi-god, Frank West is a walking joke but lethal in the hands of a skilled player and Polymar possesses transformations that are physically impossible.
In 'Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3', one of the playable characters is Phoenix Wright, who 'fights' by finger pointing, reading documents, ruffling his hair in frustration, and sneezing, and his Hyper Combos include Maya flailing wilding after being summoned, the Judge suddenly appearing behind him and smashing both his opponent and Phoenix Wright himself with his gavel, and revealing that the opponent is guilty of some vaguely-defined crime (which causes the opponent to explode, for some reason). I'd say that Daimao was just the tip of the iceberg.
Phoenix Wright would be a semi-joke character because on one hand his move set is one huge joke but on the other hand Ace Attorney is a big series for Capcom so Phoenix Wright does fit in a MVC game.

10 year old comment but the reason Speed racer didn't get in was because they couldn't figure out how to make a movement surrounding surrounding car.
