Explain it like this. Fresh Foam is like walking on beautiful white sand. Feels great as it spreads through your toes. Fuel Cell is like walking on a trampoline. It's still soft under foot but it springs back. The more you push into it, the more you get back.
Great point!
@@heskickssneakers good but what are the bumps that in the middle of the sole press on the foot and can not wear because of it. I like them but I was forced to give them back because of it
The More is also fresh foam and way more bouncy and trampoline feeling than the Rebels. So a lot of this stuff is just marketing. Literally every different model has a different blend and formula in the foam cuz they all feel different.
@@jeffhicks8428You mean the More V5?
I'd also like to add, I knew nothing of these max cushion shoes until I stumbled upon this channel. I was looking for comfortable walking shoes at the time on RUclips because I was trying to lose weight and walking as far as my feet would let me in my Nike Monarchs, which wasn't very far (so glad I found this channel). I just want to thank Hes Kicks for his channel and helping folks find more comfortable shoes to wear casually and walking or running. I share almost every single opinion on the shoes you review so you are my go-to channel if I want to know how a shoe is, like the New Balance, I have never even worn a New Balance shoe till I seen his first video on the SCT v1 and have been hooked every since now I have bought every New Balance running shoes that has launched from the SCT v1 and v2 the 1080 line the Rebel line the More V4 line the SCE v3 and v4 and I'll be getting the upgraded launches this year for SCT v3 and the More V5 and the new Balos I simply can't wait for the review then I usually get them overnighted to me if you say they are comfortable, So thanks again for all the great videos and reviews my friend!!
Appreciate you for the comment man thanks for being an active viewer u rock!
Just got my pair a few hours ago for 75 bucks after rewards I had. Wore them out the store and absolutely love them. Cant wait to rock them this summer. Your videos convinced me to snag em
Where and how for 75 bucks ?
@@alijaber9855 he said after rewards so he had store credit basically
I just got a pair the other day and went on my first walk with them. I agree 100% with Hes, these are crazy comfortable!!!
After your last video I decided these would be my summer shoe and it was a good choice. Got them a couple days ago and went for a 4 mile walk today and no foot pain at all.
Nice man! Comfy summer szn haha
I was choosing between rebel v4 and 1080 v13...weird thing, on touch midsole is softer on rebel, while wearing 1080 feel softer. That and design pushed me to V13
thankyou, this helps me a lot as i'm in the same situation
I have both. They both have their strengths. the 1080 v13 is more comfortable casually for me but the rebel v4 is better for running because of how light they are. The 1080 is the more versatile pair.
I got a pair and found that at first, they were very comfortable but over time the foam just seems to not be as comfortable. So, I got the $250 pair and I love them. I just want to say in the I also went wide in NB FuelCell but this time, I bought both in regular size and they fit fine. I am not sure if they are making them a little wider or in my case I have a high arch, so maybe a little taller. I loved the trainer so much that I have come to like the plated ones better. More support and they tend to last longer.
Great vid Hes. I've worn retros and basic ultra boosts for so long now, I've been in need of these comfy sneaker videos and you are really bringing them in a great way. If possible, could you please do a "after wearing" video about the Asics Nova Blast V4 or Asics Nimbus 26. Would love to see your opinions on them! Thanks for the content!
Thanks for doing an actual comparison between the regular and elite model. Really appreciate it.
You were right man. I have a few nice runners. NB 1080. More. 840v1. Altra Via Olympus 2 and Torin 7. Most of the time I reach for the Rebel v4. It's money. I even wear them around the house to cook in the kitchen and stuff sometimes. But I need to get some better slides so thanks for the suggestion on the croc echos. I just wish I could find either the Echos or another pair of these Rebels in BLACK. They're both out of stock for ever.
Snagged a pair based on your recommendation, love em so much. Such a steal at the $140 price point 👏🏼
Just bought these for work. I work in the medical field and they feel awesome. My only con is they rub my Achilles a little raw. Going to try to wear some thicker running socks and see if that works.
Yupz same here. When I tried my normal size us10,it rubbed a lot. Ended up buying size 9.5 and wear thick socks 😅
it will, I had the Super Comp Elite V4s do this to me had to go to Fleet Feet and get special running socks to wear they were almost 20 bucks a pair but I have never had another hill blister yet so I went back and bought almost 200 bucks worth.
I love mine! Just wish they would release more colors, thought more colorways would be out by now.
I’d rather wear my 1080 v13, Nimbus 25 or Novablast 4 over the Rebel 4. I think the Rebel has less of a cushion in the fore foot than I’m used to, but still a real great shoe 🏃
The Nibus 25 is a certified beast!!!
Overall 1080 is this year’s GOAT
i rated 1080 as NO.1 for me
I like the novablast 4 but it’s not as plush as the other 3 options
For me the Rebel is much more comfortable than Novablast 4. Noveblast 4 are stiff to me.
I love these shoes! Wish they would offer more colors. These are my everyday go-to shoes.
Wish NB had an all black version
they have a “magnet black” color-way that’s mostly black
i have the all black version of Rebel 4, you can look it up at their website.
@@jittapootowasakun1960 Cool! How do you like it?
NB doesn’t have my size currently. I hope they restock.
They will on Sept 4
The Rebel feels like it bottoms out for me, but I am 6'4 and 300 so I wear them out faster than most I use Garmin Connect to keep up with my miles in each shoe and it felt great for 175 ish miles of hard walking so it would hold up under normal use I would think. I wear my Elite v 4s on my walks now for more cushion around mile 4 my feet start to swell a bit and get soar and the more stack and more cushioned midsole drives me to the end of my everyday 8-10-mile walks. after I am done I either throw on my Rebels or my 1080v13s to give my feet a break but I do wear any of these New Balance shoes as an everyday shoe as well not just on my walks. New Balance is Definitely my FAVORITE Brand!!!
I have the rebel in blue and the Elite in multi color lol but the rebel is great but my most favs so far are the 1080 v 13 for the squish and my most favorite is the super comp elite v4s I am 6'4 and a heavy guy and it feels like they go flat for me but I already ordered another pair as this blue is my Favorite color and my 1080v13s are in the beautiful blue as well! I still can't wait for the more v5s and the SCT v3s and that new shoe made for walking can't remember the name, but it was after an Island if I remember right! Oh it's Balos!
Between the rebel v4 and Elite v4 which one do you like better(just walking and maybe little bit running) and why?
Interesting that you said you felt no issues with the foam bottoming-out. A lot of bigger running channels have mentioned the foam losing some of its spring at around 100 miles.
He didn't probably wear it long enough since he keep switching shoes. And didn't wear for long hours. I just bought it last week and use it for holiday in Japan and yes it bottom out fast from standing/walking whole day. Novablast 4 is better for me. I bought both shoes and rotate and novablast 4 cushion is better for heavy guys like me
I heard the same thing about the foam losing some of it's pop at 100 miles. I still want a pair. I opted for the Adidas SL2's for 10 bucks less and love them. The other con I see with the v4 is the upper losing its shape in the toe box and mid foot. It spoils their awesome look in my opinion.
I like the v3 for running and I've been wearing them to work as a nurse. I'll keep my eye on these later in the year when they start going on sale.
so far I dont like these as much as the v3's which I bought another pair of on sale recently. I've only had the v4's a short time though so maybe they need breaking in
@@j2thebee I heard they do need some break in. The Adizero SL2 sounds like a soft, bouncy alternative, too.
@@kuriosites ok cool, fingers crossed then, I've only done a few short walks in them to be fair
Appreciate the update!
I find the rebel v4s are wider than the 1080v13
Same here. I bought half a size down for rebel v4 compared to novablast 4/1080
Same, wider then most NB shoes. I alwayd take wide and i seem to want regular in these...
After doing some research on comfortable shoes I came across the video you did last year with shoes you wear to Disney or Universal. I bought these online (used your link, but I'm in Europe so I hope it worked?) and you were totally right! These shoes are so comfortable that I want to wear them all day! Unfortunately I can't because I have an office job so I bought a pair of Cloud 5 that are a bit less flashy and more business casual. I'm looking forward to wearing these during a three day festival where I'm going and the Eras tour concert next month in Amsterdam where I have to stand a lot. Thank you very much and keep up the good work!
I went for the Adidas SL2 over the Rebel V4. I still want a pair of them however.
I always though the term plush was in reference to the upper and step in feel rather than midsole. The Hoka Bondi 8 for instance is a plush shoe. this thing on the other hand is airy and breathable even if it has softer and more compliant cushioning. who knows what any of it means. I'm gonna order this thing and try it. Hopefully it can actually fit me, and hopefully it doesn't do that weird thing like the 1080v13 which feels like negative drop and weirded me out. Best NB I've tried in terms of comfort, 1080v12, More V4, 840 v1, and the More v5 was like what the 1080v13 should have been, max cushioned but not so unstable. the v5 didn't fit though. They added 10 mm of stack height all around and it took away A LOT of room from inside the shoe. I could only get it to fit well with the insole removed, and it felt really good but I'm not spending $160 on a shoe I can only wear without the insole, so I sent it back. The Arishi was okay but for sure runs small and tight and it's just very cheap. The Kaiha road is an excellent value but it was a little unstable and also ran tight like the arishi.
if they make the heel too wide, your inner ankle/calfs will know about it...
How so? I like wide heel for stability. what happens to calf? Thank you
@@Omar_Little the inside edge of the heel will rub on your ankle or calf when running, very painful in the motioncontrol/posted years way back when
Agree. I bought half a size down. I normally wear us 10 and it rub my hell. Ended up buying us 9.5 and since it's wide enough so it fit perfectly.
Hey. I just wanna ask your opinion if you compare this to Vomero 5’s. Which one is more comfortable? And which one is much softer? Thank you
These are way softer. The Vomero 17 feels similar in cushion if not slightly firmer, and the Vomero 5 utilizes 12 years old tech (still very comfy!)
What about running makes the shoe designers think FRUITY colors are the way to go? A triple black color way would look good.
Striking colors make you easier to be noticed on the road/trail
Can u do a space jam Jordan review?
That first con (lazy factor) is huge! thanks for the review but i think ill stick to 1080v13
Which Slides would you recommend that comes closest to the cushiness of the Rebel V4's?
Hoka mach 5 or rebel v4 is better for comfortable casual wear for the summer ?
These are running shoes made for long distance running. They are meant to support your feet muscles and protect your joints when you want to give them a good pounding. If you're wearing shoes like that just for walking around, you're depriving your feet muscles of the best training they can get, which is walking. Sure, it's more comfortable - but know what's even more comfortable? A wheelchair... If you need one, use it. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from using your feet when walking - use these shoes. But if you're an ablebodied young individual, wear running shoes for running only
Is there a break in period? I just got the narrow fit and just wearing in the house for feel, i started having discomfort on my left foot (3cm wider).
Other reviewers stated the narrow fit is alrdy wide.
Hey Kicks, are there any foams that are just as soft as this. I have terrible feet pain and these seem to be the only sneakers i can wear. Ill check out the more v5s today, but i tried the 1080 v13 and they hurt my feet. I don't know exactly why, because they are soft but only the fuelcell line so far doesn't bother me as much
@heskicks do you know when new balance will have a sale on the 1080v13’s or the rebel 4’s? Just picked up a pair of the 1080v13 because my v10’s finally bit the dust.
Fresh foam x more v4 vs fuelcell rebel v4, which one would you say is more comfortable?
I just wish they had more color ways for this sneaker
Can you please suggest between fuelcell rebel v4 and On cloudsurfer?
Compared with 990v4s how do the NB FuelCell Supercomp Elite v4 fit? True to size? (Because after wearing sz9 in Nike Sacai’s I started wearing sz8.5 in NB 990 series.) (Asking because I really want the district vision collab coming out this week and haven’t had much experience with NB running gear.) thank you!!!
Do you run with it?
Is the orange color a legit one or fake?
amazing comfort for a lifestyle shoe, crazy how they get so much wrinkles on the midsole though
*running shoe
Dang it. I don't need another pair of shoes. I already have V1 of the FC Pacer, V1 of the Trainers and V3 of the Rebel's but You sold me. Will be grabbing these also and probably V2 of the Trainers also ❤
Are these the same fit as the 1080 V13 ? Thanks!
Is it better than the ASICS Novablast 4?
are there any that are all white? I really like the shoes but don't really mess with the bright colors
only in a women's color way
Cant wait for the sc trainer 3, looks almost identical to the rebel v3 but with way more of that plush new fuelcell!
you mean the blue one, right?
@jittapootowasakun1960 yea it's like a blue turquoise color, they look sick
Def on the list!
Great video but most if not all say that the Rebel V4 runs wide by default, while the 1080 v13 runs narrow. For average sized feet, one should go wide. Hope this helps prospective buyers.
This is definitely true. The 1080s were narrower and longer than the Rebel. I'm Asian and I've got a bit of a wide feet. My size for the 1080 v13 is US 8.5-2E and the Rebel v4 in US 9-D. The sides of my feet were sticking out on the D width 1080v13s.
@@onwheels888hey so go up half size you think. I already go pretty long on the 1080v13 in size 10.5 4E. Thought about trying the Rebel in 10.5 2E (since they aren't available in 4E. I think my right foot is true 4E while the left is more like 2 to 3E.)
the midsole wrinkles are crazy, guess thats to be expected when its that soft. I dont know about the durability over time for this one, I think its more of an occasional wear, but it doesnt seem like an every day to me.
Yes, the tongue is frustrating when trying to put on the shoe from a standing position. The tongue gets pushed in and you often have to take the shoe off to fix the tongue position. No problem if you put on the shoe while sitting, and you can use 2 hands to slide the shoe on. Otherwise, these shoes are very comfortable and many sizes are sold out. New Balance needs to make these shoes faster to meet demand. I had to buy my electric blue pair in size 12 from another retailer.
Perfectly fine for walking but running in them the squish is gone after 100km, foam is dead, they dont fit true to size, you have to size up 1 full size!
I need some help here, I’m 10.5 -11 and I got my first 1080v13 and size 12 fit perfect, should I get same size 12 for these rebel v4? Hope somebody else has the same problem 😅
I have regular width feet and wear 7.5 in 1080v13 -- fits great. I wear 8.0 in Rebel v4 because the 7.5 felt a touch short (not ideal for running). Rebel v4 feels very wide in the forefoot, though. I have to wear thicker socks, otherwise, my forefoot would be swimming in it. Definitely the roomiest forefoot of any running shoe I have worn.
I can't give up my Invincible Run 3s.
Why?? compared to these?
I was choosing between the two and I chose these.. been wearing Ultraboost 1.0 for a 3 years now
how is the heel on the IR3? Do they slip?
Invincible Runs have proven to be my travel shoes. I wore my Yeezy 350s while I was home in SF and my feet were killing me. I changed to my Invincible Runs the next day and my feet felt fine. No pain at all. I also wore them to London and walked over 20,000 steps and my feet were fine. I will try these when I go somewhere that I know I will walk a lot, with the Invincible Runs ready if these fail me.
@@urgirlang1 That's the whole point of me getting into mainline sneakers. I only wear designer stuff like Givenchy and have few LV Trainers etc. they kill my feet. So I started wearing my Adidas Ultraboost 1.o which I used to use for gym only. The difference was huge and unparalleled and the pain went away. So now I was to get mainstream sneakers at a fraction of cost purely for comfort of walking in them.. makes holidays in Europe a breeze. I wore the Invincible run 3 and they felt amazing... however I couldn't get my size in Rebel v4 so I tried a size larger and they felt fine. I just bought them online lets see how they hold up
@@cns187 i don’t like the 3s. They do have heel slippage for me. I tried to like them but had to return. Didn’t help with tightening the laces either. I know heel slippage will cause my heels to rub raw and bleed. I have the 1s and are my travel go to, so I got a pair of 2s from GOAT since they fit like the 1s. The ankle on the 1s and 2s are nicely padded. The 3s are not, sadly.
I still think the nike invincible 3 , and new balance super comp 2 are better my in opinion
Checking in from UK...
The exposed midsole is kinda concerning for it's durability
"You can never Judge a running shoe if you don't use them for running"
Albert Einstein 04/17/1955
I have a pair. They are great. They run small.
interesting video
Fuel Cell should get you 500kms before the foam and tread gives out.
That thin tongue is one of the main reason for the breathability, so careful what you wish for :)
💯 on tongue, also slippery when wet, other than that I love my pair 1month in
The rebel sole cleans up like new with a wipe. Their UK sizing is a total joke though means nothing. 😂
Great vid but shoe isn’t designed for casual wear. Reasons pretty much align with the cons posted in the comments. True runners should be used for runners.
I can't understand where people are buying these from lol ... none available in Delaware area size9!!!
32 seconds ago is devious
So you don’t use them for running? What’s the point? Not what I was expecting. Bad video sorry
hello
Stop using running shoes as walking shoes, that is not their intent you are overpaying for walking shoes. If you aren't a serious runner you don't need $140+ shoes to just walk in.
A review of a running shoe that you don’t use for running is really pretty pointless.
It's for all the people who will also not be running in them 🤯
No it’s not
I wholeheartedly disagree
So you can’t wear a pair of Jordans unless you’re dunking with your tongue out ? I think your statement is pretty pointless.
"Sneaker"
shoes should be made of genuine leather, preferably kangaroo leather.

Not see through...i have them and they are 95% opaque..trust me!
@@shashwatdubey7126 no. The beige color I bought had totally see thru toe box and so I returned it
