      The correct spelling, however, is with an apostrophe: "So close they can finish each other's prison sentences." If you're gonna quote someone, make sure to use proper grammar.

      @nolanddean5680 Month ago +37

      @LembeckIsStayingthe problem with conspiracy theorists is that they just want to see their theories confirmed.
      As an example, Alex Jones was talking for decades of elite PDFs that traffick children.
      Now he supports Trump and sees no indication that he or the rest of the administration could be involved in the files.
      For them, its about story telling no interest of getting to the truth.

    You know, I have never been invited to participate in a transnational, paedophilic sex-trafficking operation, and quite frankly I do not think it would be my cup of tea. However, if that were to happen, I feel like my first priority would be to not be photographed fucking constantly with the ring leader of the paedophile syndicate while I am in various states of undress. The fact that the same cannot be said for a staggering number of elected officials really should disqualify them from holding any kind of office on the grounds of basic competence.

      Musk wants to make Twitter the one platform for collective consciousness because he wants all of us to be under his control. Since he believes he's so much better to run the world and we all are too stupid and inefficient 😂 That's what he really believes (based on his actions and words all along). He may not be consciously aware of his own belief (or don't want to say it out loud). Musk's confidence comes from ignorance

      It's a Heinlein reference. Now, Heinlein has . . . issues . . . of his own, and plenty of them, but calling the Twitter chatbot "Grok" clearly shows that Musk never read A Stranger In A Strange Land to its very strange end.

      Things like tax evasion are so much easier to prove as well. Maybe those photos are AI, maybe someone photoshopped them to be used as blackmail, ... . Not saying those arguments are true but the defense might use them to create distrust.

    • @DimitriMoreira
      @DimitriMoreira Month ago +5

      @guywhocommentsanonymously metadata, yes. There are marks. However, not all platforms follow one and self hosted AI still can have none, leaving only the option of pixel counting (as long as there are no obvious errors), and even that can be called into question. I'm assuming the world's about to have some big changes in forensic laws in the next 4 years.

    • @annachase6036
      @annachase6036 Month ago +3

      @guywhocommentsanonymously I don't know. Some pics are really easy to notice AI was involved. But some other are extremely hard to see. That's why AI watermarks are important and should be implemented yesterday.
      But what I know is some artists are extremely good at photoshop. Spotting those fakes is sometimes impossible by just looking at it.

      Even if it were true (and I have a very hard time believing _any_ of his accomplishments - if you told me he tied his shoes today, I'd wonder if he just put on slip-ons and called that tying), it just showcases the two separate types of intelligence.
      The way I read it (mind you, I am not an expert, it's been a while, and I read it on the internet, so make your judgements of the validity accordingly), there is *solid* or *static intelligence* - the things you've learnt, the facts you've memorised, the total sum of your knowledge - and *dynamic* or *liquid intelligence* - the ability to make connections between those facts, the ability to make conclusions.

    • @dwiss2556
      @dwiss2556 Month ago +2

      @OndřejVágner That is actually a somewhat old model. Intelligence requires you to draw from both abilities. Your brain mainly stores patterns. Very few people have a memory that stores the actual details, so we ignore them for now. Our brain does not categorise those patterns either like you would in a bookcase or list. That is your 'knowledge' part which is actually nothing but information storage. It becomes knowledge when you can successfully retrieve it over and over again, no matter what context. Context is the key here. Randomly pulling out some facts is not intelligence nor is it knowledge.
      Once you can successfully retrieve and combine that stored information, it is again context that decides what it becomes. Just retrieval is knowledge, combining this knowledge with other knowledge and eventually even creating new conclusions from that is intelligence.

    • @OndřejVágner

      @zephie531 Month ago +28

      Where I live it’s not uncommon to have a locked gate or door, but not primarily to stop people getting in. Mostly to stop the children causing chaos or getting out!
      The people trying to get in are almost always parents who want to take kids home for whatever reason and didn’t think it might be necessary to tell anyone. So there have been incidents of parents just wandering in and taking their child causing panic because, you know, if they don’t tell the staff they’ve taken their kid home how are the staff supposed to know what happened. A missing child is quite a serious matter. Usually said parents would be spotted and spoken to about that.

    • @PhotonBeast
      @PhotonBeast Month ago +9

      @zephie531 Yeah; there is also the social specific contexts. In the NL where I currently live, a kid that wanders out of a daycare will likely be in a heavily pedestrian environment (and so an adult will probably notice that the kid has escaped) and things like cars will actively stop for people. In the US, a daycare might be in a business park and cars/car culture is such that the kid would be in far more danger. All of which to say is, you have to use solutions that fit the situation and I don't think anyone would really argue that, in the long term and more broadly, we should push for safety for our kids.

    • @Bunnybananabunny
      @Bunnybananabunny Month ago +4

      In Finland lots of them are locked (the outside door, not the room doors), but mainly to ensure the kids don't run away, not to keep people out😅 Especially in larger cities in Finland many daycares have started to add camera doorbell systems for safety, but it's mostly for theoretical threats, nothing has actually happened to trigger this.

    • @PhotonBeast
      @PhotonBeast Month ago +3

      It's a bit of a many problem issue. Daycares in the US may not always be in pedestrian trafficked environments and US kids aren't always use to being as free range as in other places. Plus things like US cars and car culture. So you have a situation where free range kids (at least for the younger ones) do need a bit of a guardrail because that might be only thing there vs other adults. You kind of have to fit the solution to the situation. This isn't to say that all those contribution factors are GOOD; they absolutely do need to change and improve. But in the meantime, if there is a danger, you kinda just have to work within that boundary.
