Well done- and realistic. I lived similarly- an artist, musician/composer and writer. Although i never involved myself with the professors, mentors along the way. I was too devoted to my work to be distracted- and much too young. But, I can see how her head was turned by like minded genius.
@January I am so sorry if I offened you. I was only joking because I love his work and that was my favorite. I meant no harm at all. I apologize for making you feel that I was treating him less than the greatness he deserves. That is not in me to hurt anyone, ever. I only raise people up, lift spirits, with love and honor. I am so sorry.
@@January.I can't put my finger on it, but I never could stand him. His face, his voice, his acting style...like some other actors, I just don't like looking at him. 🤷♀️
Loads of passion for the music and what makes the world go round. Today, in "enlightened, sophisticated and liberated" Britain, they'd all be arrested for that. Good show from a world forgotten,

Yes! Thank God she came to her senses AND kept her composure during the final competition. Can somebody identify that piece she's playing as the camera zooms out of the hall? I think the casting is fine but hope this isn't how life goes in (?) NYC conservatories. The plot is entirely driven by the teachers' obsession with the ingenue. They seem entirely untroubled by professional ethics?.....
The teacher is hot and cold and the band leader is full of lines but long term he would be as cold as ice. Once she shows that she’s hurt he can’t comfort her.
Personally, I can't see anyone - no matter how talented - wanting to put themselves through all it takes to be a professional musician. To me, the juice is definitely not worth the squeeze!

I love that Odd Couple guy!! Amazing to me. Thanks for upload!!
Jack Klugman was a great actor who deserves to be referred to by his name and not "that Odd Couple guy."

Laura Devon is truly beautiful, with a refined style-a second Marilyn Monroe.

How so?

First broadcast on Christmas night December 25th, 1964 over NBC-TV Friday 8:30-9:30pm (EST).
6:19, I just can't see Jack Klugman as a musical professor!
Always loved Jack Klugman, in the odd couple, Quincy…this! He’s great. Pity about his throat cancer 😢
Miss Devon is French composer Jean-Michel Jarre's mother.
I see the pianist as caught between two men unsuited for her. I liked the way the ending was handled.

That guy was the food critic on Columbo episode about fugu
Best she choose neither.

Klugman could never compete w/suave, good looking Jourdan, even though he's a heel.
8/10

Can’t figure out why the Louis Jourdan character is being such a jerk to the female pianist. Sexist much?
Borrrrrrrrrrring! Shut it down after 15 minutes.
