This! This is one of the things I adore about you. The owner of a makeup brush line openly complementing a very affordable brush on it's quality and performance. And it wasn't a criticism, disguised as a "compliment" as we so often see. Your kindness is why I can always trust you when you don't care for a product, because I've never seen you be critical for personal gain...simply just to help us as consumers. Seeing how unbiased you are genuinely made me want to buy the Elf brush, but also buy more BK Beauty brushes. Honesty and kindness over competition is something this community truly needs more of! Thank you for all you do!
I’m 58 years old. I have not worn make up in 20 years. My first attempt at foundation was Luminess. It settled in my wrinkles and fine lines. It looked bad. Today I tried Elf cc cream. I really liked it. Some settling in the lines but not bad. Your video showed me just how to apply. Excellent! Thank you for your help! I even have the same concealer! Now I know to apply it properly too! Excellent results! Thank you!
You are such a good teacher! Not only showing the product, but describing how to spread it a bit over one's hand and how to properly pick it up and buff it with a brush...well done!
Hi Lisa, I love this CC cream! I have very oily skin and used elf's oil control primer before applying. After 4 hours, my skin looked dewy, but not oily or shiny. It didn't break apart even after wearing it all day. My mom has very dry skin and she also loves this CC cream. It's alittle pricy for an elf product, but it takes only about a half a pump to get great coverage, so it will last a long time. Great CC cream!
I'm so glad that you like this foundation. I wish I could say I had the same experience. This felt heavy and mask like on my face. I couldn't wait to wash it off. Everyone is different. I have dry skin, and this did nothing for me, unfortunately. Elf truly does make some great products, but not all are for everyone. ❤❤
this did not work or me either. shade match was very hard, I tried 3 shades. like you it felt like a mask, very drying and aged me. then again I am 50. I was so hopeful for an affordable CC cream.
I really liked this products. I've never used a CC cream, didn't even know what it was all about until I researched it. I had the same shade as you and I had to return it! It was soooo orange & dark on me. So I picked up a lighter shade, but honestly I was very confused with the shades. But it did work out beautifully. I created 2 videos using it and I think its beautiful. I'm 53 years old and have "normal" skin, whatever that means. Not dry and not oily. Thank you so much for this review😍
Lisa I have to tell you just how professional your videos are! I’m 64 and I still learn so much from you. Thank you 🥰 also you look beautiful with your hair tied back!
I have normal to dry skin and I love the Elf CC cream. It's my every day cream. I also use the poreless putty primer and the camo hydrating concealer. I don't ever touch up my powder during the day, and I live near Houston.
Apparently I’m in between shades with this, it was somewhat drying to my 50 year old skin which is combination. But my 30 year old daughter was a perfect match for this and loves it. I wanted to love this for myself. But I’m happy it didn’t go to waste by my daughter using it.
Never mind darling I finally saw where you showed us what color that you purchased. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I got light 210N And I love it. It’s the perfect match for me and I love the coverage as I have some spots around my face too
i have combination skin, more towards oily. I had 2 issues with it, one with finding a color match and one with the product being too thick and not blending out easily. I tried 2 shades but i feel like the colors just weren't right. I tried different applications, with fingers/brush/sponge and just can't seem to get it right or love it. oh well, i may try one more time if i see a better shade match. Thank you for the video!! Love your channel!
Love this video. Excellent makeup application technique. I am 68 and tried this in 280 N. My skin is tan . Not sure if this too light for me yet but i love the coverage
Hi, Lisa...my second time watching you and yep, I was right, you are something! You are just SO lovely to watch, listen to, and learn stuff! So happy I found you. The first video I caught was the one about learning your undertones and how to choose your foundation. Both videos were equally entertaining and so informative. Thank you SO much for taking the time to make these for us and caring enough to continue to put them out! You're a sweet one! God bless...
I’ve always wondered about the Elf products but I can’t afford to go out and buy everything that I would like to try so I really appreciated this video a lot. I will be purchasing the foundation and concealer this week. Thank you Lisa for sharing your talent and ideas!! Much appreciated. !
Do you have any quick tips for choosing a shade of foundation, cc cream and/or concealer? It seems like I always choose the wrong shade🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for testing these products! I’m looking forward to trying the cc cream and concealer!!
I literally was just looking at that concealer yesterday but couldn’t decide.....until now lol.....SOLD ☺️. And that foundation looks gorgeous- exactly what I love......hello Walmart - going back in😉 Have a fantastic day beautiful Lisa 💕 Xo Tammy Roy 🇨🇦
I use a lot of E.L.F products including the concealer. My foundation is Covergirl + Olay in the jar and the concealer works great with it including the primer for pores. It looks great on you.
I have oily skin, and I from the east coast. This works perfectly on my skin. I can go about 4 hours without powdering. I also have a little rosacea, and this covers it perfectly. Sometimes I put the product on my partner, who has dry skin, and it does last longer on him. He has never been into makeup, but I apply half a pump to even his skin when he has an important meeting. Even though he is into makeup, he likes the look.
I got all of the products yesterday and I’ve tried them out and I absolutely love them! I have been having trouble getting the right colour foundation in Mac, and the ELf Fair 130N is a perfect match, I wish I could find the right Mac counterpart! The NW15 is suddenly looking quite orange.
Lol I used this for the first time this morning. I used WAYYYYYY TOOOO Much😂I made it work though… A little goes a long way. I do not find this drying at all. Think I’m gonna love it!
I tried it and was disappointed. I am 55 and have pretty normal skin. I found that it sat on top of the skin and magnified my pores terribly. I'm using it up by mixing it with the It cosmetics Your Skin But Better foundation - which is terrific!
Hi Lisa, I tried same color as you. In Mac im NC 25. Like yourself im unsure if its the right color. Kinda matches but has a peach undertone on my olive complexion. Didn't oxidize so that was good. I went down a color but was to light by itself, needed a bronzer. So not sure if keeping🤔Enjoyed hearing your opinion.
Enjoyed your video! And thanks for the review. Here I am in my 50’s and I still have a difficult time selecting a foundation shade. However, when I’ve tried the shade you’ve mentioned in a video it seems to work for me. In this video, you mentioned you’d go a shade lighter would you choose 240W or 210N? Or some other shade? I would like to try this product but am hesitant due to my real insecurity of choosing the right shade. Thanks for the help!
Interesting. We were chatting sbout it yesterday and your review popped up just on time ❤️❤️. Cant wait to arrive in greece, because at my age of 50 and pores & wrinkles cc is my go to every day
So far I haven’t had a super great experience with it. The first time I didn’t set it with a lot of powder and the cream migrated to my under eye lines and the corner of my nose heavily. Drove me nuts! Next try I heavily powdered and it made my skin look so dry. The product still migrated. I’ve also tried with and without primer. It’s my first experience with a cc cream so maybe I’m using it wrong🤷♀️
Hello my beautiful friend ❤️😄. I think once you applied the concealer, the foundation color looked amazing on you (not too dark). I'm looking for a tinted moisturizer/CC cream. I might check this out. Thank you for another great video. Cheers 😉🌷
All these influencers complain about the packaging I would never buy highend makeup and skincare The drugstore makeup and skincare is just as good there’s no need to spend a lot
As you are/were a professional artist, I have a question. Should I wear primer under my foundation? I am an almost 51 yr old woman with normal skin and wear light coverage foundation. I am new to makeup and am still trying to find out what shades work best for me. Not easy, lots of guess work
I know this is an old comment, but in case others read this and have a question, I will answer. I am 46 with combination and somewhat eczema prone sensitive skin. I use moisturizing creams like L'Oreal 45+ wrinkle repair or revitalift, then add a tinted moisturizer sunscreen by Neutrogena, and then I use a clear primer by almay. (Let each layer dry before applying the next). I have found I rarely need a cc cream or foundation after that but use it when i want a more polished look. I have found that primer is essential because it allows the foundations to go in evenly. Without it, foundation is more likely to settle into dry patches and fine lines and it also might be heavier on one area over another. Primer also helps even skin tones and hold in the moisture, so I use it even without foundation. Hope that helps
It was greasy, never dried down on my face and made lines around my eyes and mouth. Then it wore off in spots. Not happy. I have combination skin and it made me breakout.
I had the same experience. It was thick and slid around no matter the primer, or no primer. Plus it oxidized like crazy. It’s been a long time since I disliked a foundation this much and can’t understand the hype at all. It Cosmetics Your Skin but Better is soooo much better. Worth the extra $ for sure. That is, if you like the natural look and feel. Normally I would try to blend with something else but I couldn’t even give it away.
Need help! I have problems with mascara. All mascaras clump on me.. I have long thin eyelashes. Bought the lancome primer and it just made my idol clumpier. What am I doing wrong?
Try the Ilia mascara. It keeps lashes separated with just a smidge of volume. No clumps and there's a comb on one side of the brush. I have long lashes too and have trouble with clumping which drives me nuts!
Put two or 3 drops of eye drops in the tube. Pull the brush in and out at least 10 times, but not all the way out. Do this to mix the eye drops in the formula. I always do this because I have long, fairly thick eye lashes and this helps me to get a full 3 months use out of one tube of mascara! I hate the clumping too. Good luck!
I’m 20 with dry to normal skin, & really disliked this foundation :c I found it way too thick & difficult to blend on the skin. It would then just sit & look insanely cakey/broken up. :s
You can try adding a drop of beauty oil (I personally use The Ordinary 100% plant squalene) and mix well with a pump of the CC Cream before applying. I also have dry skin & doing that with heavier or matte foundations makes them work great for me! I get to keep the coverage, but it looks smoother, hydrated and blends into the skin so much better. :)
I’ve been looking for this foundation here in Australia 🇦🇺 but I’m not sure if it’s released here yet, not many stores carry the full range on elf cosmetics unfortunately, just a little bit here and there, looked lovely on your skin Lisa, but everything does. Thinking of You All. Much Love from Janelle xoxo 🐶💙💙😍😍😍
I wish all the products didn’t have dimethicone as the second ingredient. I’m always looking out for something less expensive than my tried and true Dr. Jart premium, but that’s ok.
You might like the 240W shade. I’m NC25 and it was too dark for me (more like a medium than light-medium). I have mature combo skin and it felt greasy, just sat on top of the skin and slid all around while caking at the same time. 😱 What a horror show lol. I think it was the chemical SPF. Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of CC or BB creams so that was my own fault for believing the hype that it was better than the IT CC but at least I am only out $14 for this one!
Lisa J You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked it. Everything looks beautiful on you so it’s hard to tell what it will look like for the rest of us mere mortals.☺️
I wanted to like this product so much however, the chemical sunscreen in it caused me to have a rash whereas the It CC cream's mineral sunscreen does not. It looks beautiful on you though.
It was super cakes on my combo 53 year old combination skin. It looked okay on my oily areas, but magnified my pores, which I normally never even notice. I ended up buying the Clinique even better egg shaped foundation at Ulta when I retired the ELF.
Hello Lisa I have 2 unrelated questions so no rush on answer. At the moment I'm using cleanser, moisturizer, serum, spf and an eye cream. I'm in my 40s and wanted to know if this is everything I should be using? Secondly, I keep changing brands and when I see something new always can't wait to try it! My question is are there particular brands I should really be using? At the moment I'm using Murad and my skin is on the dry side. Thanks so much Lisa. Lisa xx
Elf is hit or miss. Love their powder and magnetic pull cream shadow, but their Lash out Loud mascara is horrible. Just not sure i want to chance the foundation.
I would appreciate if you would provide number of BKB brushes. Noticed some times you do. Need all the help I can get to use my beautiful BKB brushes. 🙏
I don't understand why you needed primer for a CC Cream. I say this because I bought it too & am very unhappy. Especially for the price. A CC cream should be moisturizing, but this was way too drying for me. Super disappointing.

Thinking of You All. Much Love from Janelle xoxo 🐶💙💙😍😍😍
Thank you Janelle! 💖
it's here now - $35bux
Looks flawless. Trying the Elf CC Cream. Let ya know. What about summer humidity? I’m in Mississippi!!! I have medium to dry skin.
I wish all the products didn’t have dimethicone as the second ingredient. I’m always looking out for something less expensive than my tried and true Dr. Jart premium, but that’s ok.
New sub here from Spokane Valley Wa 💖
You might like the 240W shade. I’m NC25 and it was too dark for me (more like a medium than light-medium). I have mature combo skin and it felt greasy, just sat on top of the skin and slid all around while caking at the same time. 😱 What a horror show lol. I think it was the chemical SPF. Disclaimer: I’m not a fan of CC or BB creams so that was my own fault for believing the hype that it was better than the IT CC but at least I am only out $14 for this one!
Thanks for the tips, Ally!
Good to know! Thank you for the feedback, Tish! 💖
Its ok too shinny 4 me
Thanks Lisa Great review :-)) oxoxox
Any time! Thank you Linda!
@@lisajmakeup I a;lso did the tip you gave, putting the foundation on the back of your hand then using the brush to apply it. Great looking oxoxox
It’s blurry, is it my I pad??
It was super cakes on my combo 53 year old combination skin. It looked okay on my oily areas, but magnified my pores, which I normally never even notice. I ended up buying the Clinique even better egg shaped foundation at Ulta when I retired the ELF.
How do you like the Clinique?
Hello Lisa I have 2 unrelated questions so no rush on answer. At the moment I'm using cleanser, moisturizer, serum, spf and an eye cream. I'm in my 40s and wanted to know if this is everything I should be using? Secondly, I keep changing brands and when I see something new always can't wait to try it! My question is are there particular brands I should really be using? At the moment I'm using Murad and my skin is on the dry side. Thanks so much Lisa. Lisa xx
Check out Dr. Dray, a dermatologist, that has her channel and will give you everything you want for what you are asking.
@@Mxtraveler That's great. Thank you so much for your help, appreciate it. Lisa
Elf is hit or miss. Love their powder and magnetic pull cream shadow, but their Lash out Loud mascara is horrible. Just not sure i want to chance the foundation.
Who cares about the packaging it’s how the products perform is important
I would appreciate if you would provide number of BKB brushes. Noticed some times you do. Need all the help I can get to use my beautiful BKB brushes. 🙏
Looks great for about 2 hours. Then breaks up BADLY on oily skin. It was a waste of money for me.
I don't understand why you needed primer for a CC Cream. I say this because I bought it too & am very unhappy. Especially for the price. A CC cream should be moisturizing, but this was way too drying for me. Super disappointing.

C'mon. I'm 9 minutes in .... you're finally starting to try it....
