This can’t be as wicked simple as you make it seem.

It's pretty wicked simple once you get the hang of it :)

Would it be okay to use something to push the stone through? Like using a 2nd piece of wood to push a 1st piece through a table saw? To protect fingers from the blade. Or do you think it would create uneven pressure and cause the final piece to be cut crooked

Hi Kirsten! We have a saw vise accessory available for this saw that does exactly what you're requesting. We don't have a video on this yet, but we're working on it. For more information, check out the saw vise description here on our website: hitechdiamond.com/shop/10-inch-slab-saw-vise/

The cutting part of the saw blade is on the sides of the blade. You can actually touch the edge of the blade with your fingers while it's on and turning and it won't cut you. On the sides it would rub your fingers raw but actual cutting wouldn't happen. It's quite safe.

TINKER old comment but it would help with the chipping though. Also be aware that tigers eye may have asbestos in it.

That still pretty dog on fast compared to the speed in which my saw cuts. Am I not adding enough pressure? I don't want to force it! It takes me 15 to 20 minutes to cut through a 6" piece. I'm a new be though. That is why I'm asking. What is the average time that it should take for me to cut a 6" piece off of a slab?
If I put pressure to cut my blade keeps vibrating back-and-forth! Though it does run smoothly and does not contact anything if I'm not cutting with it.
