Munch’s oddessey looks like they were going to make an RTS next. It was even stated their next game was going to be an RTS but because it was late 2000s they became out of fashion and they abandoned it :(
Jesse J was definitely someone at Microsoft's XDK dev tools department, the message probably played after an XDK crash.
Also that pre-rendered trailer, I think that is from Hand of Odd game which Munch's Oddysee ended up using some of the mechanics from.
Been watching through your sonic videos recently, and seeing Munch in here was a pleasant surprise. Always loved this game as a kid and oddworld always got my imagination running, such a creative series.

Yeah I started myself replaying it again do to backwards compatibility i remember christmas morning in 2001 being excited opening the original Xbox and getting this game as my first game for it ,munchs oddysee rocked and still holds up in my opinion I remember the duke being freaking big in my 2 year old hands back in 2001 great memories

I certainly plan to do it for other Oddworld games too, but the Sonic Heroes one is first. I wanted to do one about Soulstorm but I don't think there's much to cover currently :(

Theory for lung buster vending machine: perhaps whoever used it (ie munch/abe) could create a large smoke cloud so when they walk through it enemies wont see them, aint sure if somebody said this already or it has been proven already but still.

I discovered pretty much everything (At least in the case of the game files like the shock rocker, klimb, audio, etc.) For the longest time, I thought the "Jesse J" Audio was something that'd play if Players crashed on the pc version in order to have it improved and updated, (Oh younger, optimistic me, thinking the PC version would ever be properly fixed.) but I'm actually pretty positive it's Much, Much older than that, but more like an audio file that would play if the developers tools for the Xbox had issues, or crashed, etc. I'm not sure, and obviously they haven't said anything about it, but that's just my theory. I wish game dates weren't so strictly enforced. A lot of my favorite games (That are still good!) could have been much better in the eyes of the developer. I know that as an indie developer, it'd suck to have to release my game in a state where I didn't get to do everything I wanted for it, or it had to be completely changed due to the amount of time that was given to me. Such a shame that these guys had to face that issue, but regardless, Munchs Oddysee remains one of my favorite games. There were tons of G4 videos like Commericals and an episode of their "Icons" series about Oddworld, really interesting stuff. Again, Great video! Thanks for making it ♥

I grew up with oddysee for the longest time but my favourite game is Exoddus, I never really got into munch. I remember playing the PS3 port but it was too different for me
Interesting to see all this scrapped content that never made it to the retail version of Munch's Oddysee. Probably would've been better had development continued on PS2 and they ported it to Xbox later on.
I think jesse.wav is referring to was Jesse Janosov, as he's listed in the credits as a programmer at Microsoft, which fits the "send a log to Jesse J" part of the audio. My bet is that it was intended to play when something seriously fucked with the system, something like an XDK malfunction or something inside the game doing damage to the system's internals (bearing in mind that OddWorld Inhabitants had gone from the PS2 to the Xbox and had to push the game out in a year so it could be a launch title.)
