I had an '85 Toyota Van as a winter beater about 20 years ago and in case nobody has ever driven an ass-over-the-axle van, it is VERY difficult to hang the rear out because you're sitting over the front axle, so there's zero lateral motion felt when the rear comes around, and there's no hood in front, so there's zero visual reference as to how much slip angle you're carrying. Being a winter beater, I had lot of opportunities to get silly in parking lots late at night and that thing was, without a doubt, the hardest vehicle to drift that I've ever driven. Hats off to this guy for getting shit done.
The difference in seating position is indeed likely to confuse drivers.

Fun fact, back in the Group B rally era, while trying to deliver the goods for a racing Porsche, a mechanic team stripped down their own van and replace them with the chassis and engine of a backup 911. It's just a legend of the time tho.
