Twiggy truly is the prime example of "just be yourself"! She became a model when NOBODY looked like her! She's a great example of staying true to yourself and who you are!
I also like that she is humble enough to recognize she was lucky to have the opportunity. Who knows how many bright, talented, creative, gorgeous people are stuck in favellas in Brazil or in North Korea or any oppressive and impoverished place that makes up most of the world.
@annishilcock4587U don't seem 2 know very much about revolutions 😌 (Fashion, or otherwise, darlink.) Some homework 4 u - Google / Wiki Pedia Up.... * Youthquake * Mary Quant dressing... 🤔 Guess who - Twiggy! * Vidal Sasson hairdressing... 🤔 Guess who - Twiggy! * Bárbara Hulanicki Biba Make-Uping... 🤔 Guess who - Twiggy! Soundtrack? - Try T Rex's 'Children of the Revolution' 😘
Twiggy made me feel beautiful. I was 16 in 1967, skinny, flat chested, no hips, no "shape," and here was someone who looked like me in Seventeen magazine. She opened the door for me to do some modeling. This retrospective takes me back and makes me so grateful to her.
Twiggy was like the Beatles - she represents the absolute zeitgeist of the exceptionally exciting 1960s. How on earth is she still so beautiful and wonderful !?
Exactly my thoughts. I think it's because she's so natural and genuine that we love her. She got into modelling by accident and she wasn't seeking attention and still isn't. She's focused on her artistic ideas and expression and the amazing stories she's had with people. It's refreshing to see someone like this in a world full of narcissistic egomaniacs.
Love that Vogue allowed her to tell the story of how she was discovered! We need more guests like this . . . real icons with a history that dates back several decades.
Except she completely missed out Justin de Villeneuve who was the boyfriend that became her manager. She downplays his role and I’d love her to spill the tea. She was genuinely something new in modelling. Before that it was all very aristo girls not down to earth lasses. That was part of the charm.
@RichieRich1234RICHthe reason she didn’t mention him may be because he was 25 and she was 15 at the time they dated. She’s a victim and maybe she didn’t want to reminisce on that!
I love the fact that she kept her natural looks, she didn't even straighten her teeth. This kind of unique beauty doesn't exist anymore. Everyone HAS to look identical
I want to thank Twiggy. 1967 I begged my mom for a Twiggy haircut to start Kindergarten. Long, curly hair hurt. I wasn’t alone, several classmates sported pixie cuts. I even had the doll with yellow boots and the striped dress. You were such an inspiration. Thank you for just being you! 💖
@annishilcock4587 Bitter, bitter, bitter. Watch out, the wind might change. And u'll be stuck with a face that permanently shows ur contents. Bile? Vitriol? Quink? Place ur bets! 😂
In 1968, I was thin and flat chested and wore my hair short. The Jr High boys teased me mercilessly, calling me Twiggy. Now I would take it as a compliment!
Just over a decade ago I watched the English programme Who Do You Think You are and Twiggy was in an episode. I was intrigued as I have never heard her speak or really knew anything about her personality. There was a scene where she was in absolute hysterics over some relative of her who was clearly a shady character. Twiggy couldn’t stop laughing. It was very apparent to me then that she was of course amazing model but her bright and sparkly personality is one of the ingredients that makes her images rise above the rest!
Twiggy was the first model I looked up to as a child. Nice video and she still looks amazing. Seems she’s had a fun and happy life. An icon that brings an instant smile to one’s heart.
My mom used to talk about how much Twiggy influenced her as a teen. She was tall and lanky and felt so awkward but then she saw Twiggy and didn't feel so odd. I think this is the first time I've seen Twiggy in an interview, excited to give her podcast a listen.
1975 Biba's...OMG...as a Canadian theatre performance student in Toronto, my parents gave me a ticket to London for my 21st Birthday...my hard earned savings paid for my 3 week stay at B&Bs and taking bus tours into the country to tour estates and historic sites, attending lots of theatre in nose-bleeds seats, and cheap seats 'back' of stage of the London Symphonic Orchestra...Carnaby Street! Harrods! Biba's!!!!!! Such an amazing time and so many memories...John Gielgud on stage and Nicola Paget (Upstairs Downstairs)...and John Osborne plays...a life experience treasure.
Fabulous profile! I’m 8 years younger than Twiggy and my parents called me Twiggy because I was a skinny kid. In my 6th grade class photo in 1969 I have the famous twiggy haircut with the side-swept long bangs. I thought she was the most mod woman alive. What a graceful and gracious lady she has become. Thank you for this video!
She looks the exact same as her 1995 picture!? What kind of sorcery is this! What a gorgeous woman and icon, in and out! She seems so lovely, and has so many stories to tell. Thanks Vogue for featuring the one and only Twiggy!
oh I love Twiggy. She's so REAL. I always feel like I'm just sitting in the room with her when she's talking, just so down to earth and natural. And OMG she looks so amazing. Her podcast Tea with Twiggy brings such comforting memories for me as she started in during the pandemic times and I would enjoy listening as I went for walks. She's an Icon and a legend. Love you Twigs❤
I’ve watched her for years on Top Model but it wasn’t until that showroom picture that I could really wrap my head around the fact this tiny young woman with big eyes and the wholesome British lady on the panel were in fact the same person… but that cheeky smile is what made me put it together. That has not changed one bit ❤
"I love this 'cause is my memory of Barbara", I love how she is so aware of the fact that every single iconic thing in the 60's-70s was made collectively. She's so sweet, I love her little "aww"s whenever she turned the page. It's great to know she was so in tune with the 60s spirit of just doing great things while having fun.
Bonjour. It took two hundred years for Vogue to show film of a legend like Twiggy on this channel. Not somebody under 35 I haven't heard of. I'm ecstatic Twiggy got a "Damehood." 🎉
not vogue giving us real legends 😭 FINALLY
Here here!
You mean, osteoporosis kids.... yes, so bloody legendary lol
FRRRR
We need Veruschka, Jean Shrimpton, Penelope Tree, Pattie Boyd, and, of course, the great Carmen Dell'Orefice.
@ I wish Jane Birkin could🥺💔
I love how she remembers everyone's name and speaks so fondly of them. It really shows how much she values people.
She did prepare for this. It wasn't extemporaneous.
I looove that she gives detailed accounts of the experiences rather than focusing on the fashion. Really transported me there!
When you trust the hairdresser and it changes your life!!!
what a stupid idea.
@TheresaPowersI'm trying to find the stupidity...
🥇
Same, was thinking this exactly
Can't believe this woman is 75. She is so stunning. Ethereal beauty
I was thinking the same thing
She looks great. Probably low alchohol intake, and didn't smoke too long(everyone smoked in the 60s).
Stunning!!!🤩
Just beautiful
She looks fantastic! Such an upbeat attitude, too. Love it!❤
this is the kind of stories that a fashion lover wants to hear, we’re tired of Instagram models and nepobabies.
Yes! Actual (legendary) celebrities with lengthy timelines!
Preach 🙌🏻
Bravo!!!
@cassiomoraes7309 Yes
She is so well spoken and no vocal fry in sight
Twiggy truly is the prime example of "just be yourself"! She became a model when NOBODY looked like her! She's a great example of staying true to yourself and who you are!
And she INVENTED that makeup look! I didn't know that. She deserved every success!
@aksez2u she was a true IT girl!
yes thin people are so oppressed and underrepresented in the beauty and fashion industry, truly such courage and so underprivileged
She's a one-off I grew up with her and think she's the number one super model
I also like that she is humble enough to recognize she was lucky to have the opportunity. Who knows how many bright, talented, creative, gorgeous people are stuck in favellas in Brazil or in North Korea or any oppressive and impoverished place that makes up most of the world.
finally Vogue has someone on who actually REVOLUTIONISED the fashion industry forever! 🌟
You don't seem to know very much about the fashion industry.
@annishilcock4587U don't seem 2 know very much about revolutions 😌

@annishilcock4587she doesn’t
She made it chique to be emaciated. What a revolution
neither do you.

あなたの人生はまだまだ長いわよ🎶
今ね、日本では人生150年時代になったの。
だから周りに負けずに関係なしにあなたの人生を謳歌してくださいね😊💚
👏👏👏✨🎶✨
Love how she has a real story about every fotograph, rather than just talking about the clothes she was wearing
fotograph
Love that they didnt edit those stories that much! In here for them 😃👏🏻 thanks Vogue!!
This! 😊
Twiggy was like the Beatles - she represents the absolute zeitgeist of the exceptionally exciting 1960s.
How on earth is she still so beautiful and wonderful !?
glad I observed it all, Carnaby Street as well🎉 back then, although I was a child growing into the 1970's..
plastic surgery and money
Twiggy and the Beatles who are what me wanting to go to England...years later I did and lived there for 5 yrs!
you should add Mary Quant too
@JustMe-gs9xiNo.
not only is she a gorgeous woman, but a great storyteller as well!!!
Not only is she an Icon, but what a wonderful absolutely pleasant Lady!!
She remained super simple, no ego. She's a breath of fresh air!!
I could not have said it better myself.
Her story about meeting Steven Meisel for the first time felt like a movie scene. 😅❤
yesss so heartwarming!!
Amazing story!
Her story about the young boy eventually becoming a photographer is so freaking wholesome! Love that story!!!
Not just any photographer but the legendary Steven Meisel. So cool!!!
THE photographer. That’s a very cool story.
Her energy is that of someone half her age. Remarkable and inspiring.
What energy? She's sitting down.
@annishilcock4587 Why so sour? 😖
@annishilcock4587 there's energy in how she speaks and moves smartass
@annishilcock4587 Troll. Off you pop!
@annishilcock4587rage bait

It's impossible to think about the 60's without mentioning Twiggy!!! For a generation she IS the 60's. 🤩🤩
She's the 60's .. Those Eye's and pose's. 🔹🔹🔹🌟🌟🌹🔹👌
she's still so pretty. lovely personality. no ego
Despite being an icon, she’s rather a lovely humble woman. I love her energy, it’s so positive
A supermodel that defined an era. Thank you Vogue! ❤
watching women like her makes me excited about growing older ❤
I love the fact that she kept her natural looks, she didn't even straighten her teeth. This kind of unique beauty doesn't exist anymore. Everyone HAS to look identical
To be fair she has a gorgeous smile regardless lol
Hearing twiggy say “ahh” literally warms my heart every time 😭😭😭
She is still so very beautiful. On the inside and out I so remember her because I was 13 in the 60s. I just loved her photographs.
I could literally listen to all her stories for forever. Such a cool person!
Now this is a real legend.
In her own mind.
@annishilcock4587
Bitter, bitter, bitter.
Watch out, the wind might change. And u'll be stuck with a face that permanently shows ur contents.
Bile? Vitriol? Quink?
Place ur bets! 😂
@annishilcock4587oh please , everyone is acknowledging the fact that she is, stop trying to put her down she’s already made it, you can’t
@cakepopslove Oh please. How do you know whether I have made it or not.
@annishilcock4587 it’s pretty obvious. If you’ve made it that big then you wouldn’t have to put other people down
Twiggy is my style icon. Elegant, beautiful, talented, stylish - and always comes across as a down-to-earth, nice person.
Now *this* is someone who defines the overused term “icon”! And such a wonderful, engaging personality. Keep on keeping on Twiggy!
To be named dropped by Bowie is insaneeeee
i absolutely love this. No pretense whatsoever. Just amazing stories and gratitude.
Ok THIS is who I'd expect Vogue to spotlight 🎉❤
In 1968, I was thin and flat chested and wore my hair short. The Jr High boys teased me mercilessly, calling me Twiggy. Now I would take it as a compliment!
These are the celebrities we expect to see in Life in Looks! 👏🏻
Just over a decade ago I watched the English programme Who Do You Think You are and Twiggy was in an episode. Im Twiggy’s age and she was my idol. Friends used to call me Twiggy because I was 5’7” and 100lbs. She’s still beautiful..
Twiggy was the first model I looked up to as a child. Nice video and she still looks amazing. Seems she’s had a fun and happy life. An icon that brings an instant smile to one’s heart.
This should be a trending number 1 video on here, she’s iconic
wow never clicked faster, what a legend
I can listen to her talking about her life all day
Love how a series of events , hairdresser , hair cut , journalist all aligned for her to become a supermodel . Love her ❤
The Steven Meisel Story is the cutest. Love her ❣xx k.
Still stunning...her eyes 🌹
Beautiful shade of blue! 🩵👄🩵
This is unrealllll. Twiggy is the blueprint!!
My mom used to talk about how much Twiggy influenced her as a teen. She was tall and lanky and felt so awkward but then she saw Twiggy and didn't feel so odd. I think this is the first time I've seen Twiggy in an interview, excited to give her podcast a listen.
the Steven Meisel story so sweet and full circle
Finally an episode where the honoree actually talks about fashion! Than you Twiggy for understanding the assignment!
What a legend! Thank you Vogue!

She was adorable and she still is!❤
I adored her and still do! I was 14 in 1967.
How beautiful she looks at her age is unbelievable..fresh and energetic, amazing❤️. Thank you for the video dear Vogue✨
I like how she hasn't changed her nose or her lips. Still beautiful.
Now THIS is life in looks ❤❤ so detailed and informative!!! Love this vogue!
Twiggy seems so happy with every turn of the page, she’s really lived a fun and exciting life. Thank you for sharing. ❤
I really admire people who achieves their dreams...
She looks the exact same as her 1995 picture!? What kind of sorcery is this! What a gorgeous woman and icon, in and out! She seems so lovely, and has so many stories to tell. Thanks Vogue for featuring the one and only Twiggy!
Now this is an icon! Still as gorgeous as ever.
I’m 70 now, so I remember the Twiggy era as it was happening! So great to see her now, after all this time.
LOVEEEE THIS!!! These are are the life in looks we yearn for, actual ICONS with extensive careers to look back on
oh I love Twiggy.
Love this woman so much! Such an icon yet so down to earth ❤ also in addition to this series, we need Faye Dunaway, Julie Christie and Pattie Boyd
No, not Faye Dunaway.
The screen wouldn't be wide enuff 4 her & her ego.
(No space 4 the dresses.)
This is why Life in Looks is for icons that have had long life!
She looks fantastic for 75!
Love to hear Biba spoken of. More please!
I love Biba and I’d met Barbara Hulanicki once almost 15 years ago
OMG you look wonderful! I grew up in the 60's and 70's so I had admired your fashion sense growing up.
Twiggy (Lesley Hornby) is the same age as me; I remember us copying her fashion and hairstyles back in 1967. She looks great.
What a legend! Love Twiggy. Still gorgeous and she seems so lovely. If I could visit any era, I'd love to be a mod on Carnaby Street.
She is the O.G., the best of them all!
Well, along with Jean Shrimpton and a few others. 🙂
Ooh, I look forward to seeing the documentary! ❤
Her origin story is insanely amazing!
Twiggy is classic. She was my favorite judge on America's Next Top Model ❤
What a lovely, humble icon !
When she mentioned Mary Quant, it brought back such a flood of memories!
My most favorite lipstick was Grape Crush! 💜
One of the most enjoyable ones ever, thanks so much.
Fabulous! She's an absolute legend. Now do the iconic Pat Cleveland, please!
Yes!
Great idea.
I want to see this documentary!
She looks gorgeous today wow!!!! ❤❤❤
Twiggy is still such a beauty. Her eyes are still so bright. Really enjoyed this collection of looks.
Great video... so nice to hear all her stories, I had no idea she was an actor or has a podcast ....whatta an incredible life❤
Bonjour. It took two hundred years for Vogue to show film of a legend like Twiggy on this channel. Not somebody under 35 I haven't heard of. I'm ecstatic Twiggy got a "Damehood." 🎉
Such a classy lady! Love her ❤
shes so ethereal omg
Lovely interview (and great Kate Moss impression too!)
She is such a wonderful woman - have always loved Twiggy. She was our inspiration in the 60's.
The drawn on bottom lashes was such a brilliant idea. So dramatic and yet playful. Circus chic in the most elegant way.
An ACTUAL style Icon!!❤
So fantastic, real and genuine at the same time. Lovely.
literally THE ORIGINAL mod girl
Twiggy looks so young still. I was astounded to find out her career starting in the month of my birth in that same year.
Best vogue video yet! LOVE Twiggy!!❤
Her stories are really interesting, especially the way she tells them. You just wouldn't find stories like that in the current climate.
Love you Twiggy! How great it is to see you again
A fashion legend! She seems so lovely and speaks fondly of each memory. Vogue, please interview more fashion trailblazers like her!
Biba!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Wow. Such a great, intelligent speaker.
I really enjoyed watching this. It seems like she’s really had fun with her life.
I've always been fascinated by Twiggy & the Youthquake movement she was part of, so I'm definitely going to look for that documentary.
