The rosary played a big part in my conversion from Protestantism and atheism. I had always loved the art, the beauty, the rigor of rite, and the rosary always called to me most, curiously. I would always visit Catholic Churches in town centers in my travels. All in awe. One time I went into the cathedral in Rio de Janeiro and I finally decided to buy a rosary after I had been to a couple of months in mass back home. When I prayed the rosary for the first time, I cried so much! So, so much. When it ended with Hail Holy Queen, I cried much more and I was safe. That’s when I new I was a Catholic, so I started catechism. The other pivotal artifact in my conversion was Confessions by Saint Augustine. That’s a whole other testimony in itself tho.

I came home Easter Vigil 2022 in spite the things happening in the church- I came home because this is Christ’s Church and I must be where He is. Our Lady put me in front of Christ and John 6 brought me to the Catholic Church. To Jesus thru Mary! VIVA CRISTO REY!

One of the reasons I came back Home, was the fact that She was under such a huge attack. The enemy was definitely showing those who were paying attention, that the Catholic Church was the real deal. Steve Wood took time to speak with me over the phone several times to assist me in coming Home.
I'm forever grateful ☝️🙏 VIVA CRISTO REY

      How about JESUS!?!

    • @janec2717
      @janec2717 Год назад

@@momiowa9509It’s all about Jesus. Mary is all about Jesus. Mary’s only desire is to fulfill the will of God and lead everyone to Jesus, her Son and her Savior. Mary’s soul magnifies the Lord and rejoices in God her Savior (Luke Chapter 1). At the wedding feast at Cana (John Chapter 2), Mary intercedes for the couple and their problem of running out of wine by pointing out the situation to Jesus. Then, showing complete trust in His response (whatever that might be), she tells everyone around to do whatever He says to do (her message to all the faithful to do God’s will like she always does as Full of Grace). After Jesus says it’s not yet His time, He performs the miracle anyway because of His mother’s intercession (request / prayer). Jesus honors His mother. The answer looks different for each request and might not be yes, but sometimes it is a miracle, like water into wine. We thank Mary for her prayers but we (including Mary) praise, thank, and adore Jesus (God) for all graces, blessings, etc. that He showers us with and especially for His sacrifice on the Cross for us. I hope this explanation is a blessing to you somehow!

@@momiowa9509 I think you mean 'she died'. And yes, she did. And as the creature who is 'blessed amongst women', she is doubtless before the throne of God now... We know by repeated consolations in sacred scripture that those who die with faith and grace and love of the Lord 'shall not perish but have eternal life'.
If anyone is 'dead', it is we who are in still exile in this temporary 'life'. Those who have saved their souls are far more alive than us!

The JOY of the Lord just exudes from Dr. Hahn. It's so beautiful.
I entered the Catholic Church from evangelical protestantism in 2004, in the thick of the sex scandals breaking. The priest who confirmed me said, "Grab a bucket and start bailing" (from the barque of Peter). I've never looked back, and like Dr. Hahn says, as time goes by, the riches and the depth and the truth of the Church become more and more amazing. And the power of the Rosary! Amen! I'm so humbled to be Catholic as it was not something I was seeking out! Our blessed Mother brought me in.

I have been listening to Scott Hahn forever. He used to speak at our church and he used to speak where I was and I’ve been listening since he converted, etc. etc.
So I’m glad you had him on there. I think we need some of the basic original people instead of sone even Catholic new crazy lunatics out there coming up with weird ideas.
Thank you Michael. I like when you’re more serious frankly, but I like you sense of humor too. To a point!
I liked you on Lila Rose. I yet haven’t listened to this yet, but I’m going to in one second and I already know it’s gonna be good because it’s Scott Hahn.
I am a strong Catholic 76 year old grandma, and very into the whole thing and young at heart and I listen to a lot of you too but I pick and choose for sure!
I listen to Jonathan Pageau I listen to even Jordan Peterson. I listen to not only Catholics--put it that way.
I’m a cradle Catholic. I’m strong in the faith but I love to hear all the other input from solid Christians 0:14 , but not from lunatics.
I pick and choose, and I have known and learned how to discern the truth.
Thank you again so much. God bless you my friend.

Great point on the increase of complexity and difficulty to become a Saint and be saved ultimately... I think that's what reflects perfectly what St Paul meant in 2 Timothy 4:7 - “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.“ Because even for him as time passed by he kept learning and unfolding new ways to holiness and perfection as we ultimately are called to be like Christ. And as us, he had to let it go of many false beliefs and attachments he had as a scholar

I was a student of Doctor Hahn's many years ago at Franciscan. One of the things he said that always bugged me (not in that he was wrong but in that I couldn't reconcile it) was that Christ's love wasn't stagnant, but it was like a fire and it spreads...it's living Theoretically, I thought that should be true. But looking around me, looking at even Steubenville, OH which is full of extremely faithful Catholics...why isn't the faith spreading like fire? Why isn't the whole town affected by that love? Why isn't it spreading how it should? Why does it seem like this fire is losing? Yes, I know God is triumphant in the end, but he used a fire analogy and fires spread where there is fuel. There is plenty of fuel in that town and yet the Catholic population (which probably grows because many students go there never leave and have babies) doesn't seem to be converting others who are not there for the University. I'm still trying to reconcile those things to this day. Still Catholic but that one is a rock in my shoe.

Good point. It's a bit like the iceberg. We in this life sew the seed, God in his time will reap the Harvest. We don't know or in what way our prayers or our display of our faith can have on another person. Maybe Stebuville would be a terrible place if it wasn't for the people of faith there. I'm Irish and live in Ireland and I have heard of it and know of it.

Well I don't know if it would be a terrible place, but the University is certainly an oasis in an otherwise extremely dilapidated and poor town. The University life is very segregated from the rest of the town. At least it was when I was there. It's been awhile. And anyway, thought your comment is true, it certainly flies in the face of a fire analogy. @@johntaaffe4709

The immortal burden of true Catholic faith: Being a good Christian, a true follower of Jesus Christ, is virtually impossible for most of us. The paradox: Exactly this deep conflict in each Christian has made Christianity the greatest civilization on earth. A true Christian has to live with this conflict - which is strikingly parallel to the Greek conflict: Socrates taught us to live in -and die in dignity with - eternal doubt and strife. One of those dimensions St. John Paul II. and Benedikt XVI. lived in, but not many nowadays can fathom.

That is not to say that should be the only impetus. At base, our desire should be reunion with the Lord, not fear of hell. But, fear of hell is important too.

catholic, small c, just means universal. The universal Christian church is unseen. God only knows who believes in Jesus as their Savior for their sins. We should never judge. Where the Word Of God is there are true believers.

Protestant response. Respectfully submitted. Beg to differ. Classical Protestantism which includes Presbyterians has always taught real presence. The other two branches of classic Protestantism, Anglican and Lutheran also believe in the real presence. What Dr. Hahn does is equate real presence with transubstantiation. Transubstantiation is only one of several ways to explain the real presence and it is a Johnny come lately at that. Also Dr. Hahn is incorrect in equating Christ’s universal church with the Roman Church. That is an error. The two are not synonymous. Christ’s universal church includes all the redeemed not just Roman Catholics. To say otherwise is to ignore church history and the apostolic witness. It is also highly sectarian. Rome does not own the word catholic.
