      Lockpicking but we have an old, rusty lock at our relative's house which we visit on the weekend. I got so tired of having to jam a key in and wiggle it several times assuming said relative even finds said key cuz they keep losing it that I eventually gave up and just learned how, turns out, it wasn't that hard.

      If it's small items and you are still in school, hide them in your pencil case/bag. If it's thin paper, hide it in a plastic file between other paper that doesn't look suspicious, like activity papers. And always have an excuse in mind for when you get caught. No excuse ready will make you suspiciously silent and might make matters worse. Also, once you get caught, be extra careful for a while and learn from your mistakes, because you will have to earn their trust.
      Good luck

    for me it's first aid. taking care of all kinds of wounds, regardless of where they are.
    i don't have any proper medical training but i am pretty clumsy, so i ended up learning how to bandage/tape and my hands and feet, stop bleeding and immobilise limbs to avoid further injury by the time i graduated middle school and i've only gotten better at it since. it might seem like an overkill but i have mild to moderate compulsions regarding injuries and learning how to treat them has helped me manage my mental health a lot better. i'm confident in my skills even when i don't have proper medical supplies at hand.
    also, it's pretty funny how i'll get late night texts from friends and family members asking for medical advice from time to time

    • @absolutelynot.8220
      @absolutelynot.8220 Год назад +23

      Same dude. First aid skills are definitely one of my things that I'm suspiciously good at. As well as improvising (for first aid stuff and otherwise), acting/getting out of situations, and driving fast. That last one doesn't seem impressive but if you saw me drive at over 75 mph, you'd understand lmao. I think the oddest part is that I have never had any issues with cops or any other form of authority (managers, teachers, security, etc) no matter what the situation would be. They all just let it go..... (And it's even weirder when it's the situations where my friends are getting their asses chewed out for something and I can step in and casually get them out no sweat.) First time I really noticed this was when I was driving with my friend and was flying down a road (going like 70 in a 45 😬) and flew right past a cop who didn't do jack shit about it (normally cops around here love going after speeders). I didn't even realize till my friend asked if I knew I flew past a cop, which obvi I said no, because I tend to be lil miss perfect around cops cause of the fact I mentioned in the parenthesis above. And from then on I've noticed that no matter what my dumbass does, I've never gotten any consequences for it, especially if it's been in a car. (Aside from me getting in trouble with my parents like everyone does obviously.)

You had to learn how to break in to your own house for when your parents locked you out or took trips out of town without telling you. I learned how to break in to cars, houses, and locked house windows. Had to sleep in my mom's car or my grandmother's car a few times because it was easier to unlock the car than the house, or sometimes I didn't have the tools on me for it. Similarly on observation, I sometimes according to others uncannily reach very accurate conclusions that I could not possibly know. Partially, I think it is a case of stereotyping as no one expects a bruiser to be a generalist academic. Mostly, it is merely abductive reasoning and lateral thinking. Funnily enough, it works well in orienteering as well.

    I know everything about everyone without even talking to them, and I don’t even mean to. And it gets SERIOUS. I have really good hearing and I’m a good listener, so I accidentally eavesdrop because my hearing is just that good, I know secrets that only one other person at my job knows besides the person who said it, and no, I don’t share anything, I don’t involve myself in gossip. I’m talking about things that could ruin lives. I’m talking about the closeted people in my workplace, I’m talking about cheaters, about the guy who actually didn’t go to Yale. The homophobic, transphobic, rude racist people (including my manager) would go insane if I let them in on the secrets I know from this ability, which I wouldn’t do. All of my friends know I have astonishing hearing, but not what I know. And thing is, when I talk to the closeted people, I remember overhearing that they’re closeted as if they were talking directly to me, which make them think I’m being rude, when I’m just trying to learn about how they handle it. So yeah, I’ve scared people accidentally. :,)

      I used to scare people or anger people I school for the same reason. I learned to wear headphones to block out some of the noise. It was a trauma response for me I think. I already had the hearing and good memory but when I started to get bullied on the school bus, I started to memorize every exit and the things people said around me felt important in my mind. I have learned to tune it out a little bit more or to let it go. I am a little scared about a work environment for the same reason.

    ...i had no record as a kid, but my husband had a habit of locking his keys in his car. Got pretty good at breaking into them.
    I also had to get into my rental unit a couple times. It was that or get charged $100 for the manager to bring her key over.... and we were broke. It was a bit unnerving how easy the place was to get into without damaging anything. And we found the info for how to do it online!
    It's perfectly legal to own your own lockpicking kit in the US, so long as as you're only using it in legal ways. A useful, monetizable skill. Especially if you can do it without breaking things.

Some think it's to forge signatures or things but no it's just because I accidentally taught myself it when writing test answers so my handwriting wouldn't be recognized when the test answers were found by the teacher. I studied biology in college and one of the courses included a bunch of dissections. We dissected more and more complex animals, starting with jellyfish and worms to a rat at the end of the year. Well, it turned out I'm great at it! If you mess up, you don't get a second try, and if you mess up, it's hard to see/study specific organs or traits. More and more often, the teacher would send other kids to my table to watch/study my prepared animal. The teacher took photos that are still used to this day in the courses and teachers for other classes came to watch me. One of the teachers recommended me to go and become a surgeon because of my precision and eye for detail. My classmates and anyone else who wasn't in the field was visibly weirded out and I got asked a lot where I learned how to do it, but I never touched a scalpel or cut into skin before that first class. Rumors got wild and some classmates even got scared of me! It was crazy! Especially if you saw me back then 🤭 a tiny skinny super timid/shy girl who never spoke unless spoken to. Buff gym bros took a different hallway if they saw me 😅

    I can fix just about anything Especially Small Electronics like Tamagotchis, Giga Pets, and Nano Pets. I ran a little Repair Shop at my Middle School for these Virtual Pets and fixed most of them only thing I could not fix back then was a Broken Speaker Wire because I did not have access to a Soldering Tool back then. But otherwise I was able to fix them, I never charged for my Repairs either just seeing my fellow classmates smile was enough of a payment for me because some of these Virtual Pets were gifts from loved ones who had passed away like Grandparents or Uncles or Aunts but it made me so happy to see there faces light up again when I fixed there Virtual Pet. Some of these Virtual Pets were very well loved and there paint 🎨 and Details were coming off I even Re-Detailed some of these Virtual Pets and back then it was very very hard to find an Original Picture of the Details on some of these Virtual Pets so I would ask them what would they like put on there Virtual Pet to take place of the old Details so I would Customize some of the Virtual Pets too.

However, one week, I remember zoning out and looked at him, and his face just seemed sad, I pointed it out to my friend and she went like “what? No he looks normal!” Through the whole week he “seemed” okay, but I felt like he just wasn’t. So, I walked back home with him once and asked if he was okay, turns out his girlfriend broke up with him, and he was feeling shitty. He was so surprised I could tell.
