  • Safecrackers have been around as long as safes have. And while safecracking in real life may not be as dramatic as it appears in the movies, for the pros an uncracked safe is a challenge to be savored. David Pogue talked to some experts on manipulating open safes for whatever possible treasures await inside.

Some good guys on this video. I am glad that there is this fascination with safecracking in our industry. It is truly a science and, deserves every dollar that is charged for it.

These people don’t go to concerts or work in factories with heavy machinery so they don’t damage their hearing.

WE FOUND A SAFE IN A FAMILY HOME. IT IS A COMBINATION SAFE IN THE FLOOR. HOW DO WE FIND SOMEONE TO OPEN IT. WE HAVE CALLED SEVERAL LOCKSMITHS AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO WELD THE SAFE OPEN, WHICH MAY DAMAGE THE ROOM FROM THE SPARKS THAT COULD PRODUCE A FIRE. I LIVE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. DO YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE IN HOUSTON WITH THIS SKILL? THANK YOU

A real locksmith will manipulate a safe to open it. The one's that self proclaim themselves as being a locksmith, do it by drilling a hole and using a bore scope. About like calling a towing service to unlock the door to retrieve your keys by breaking the window.

I found a safe buried in the freezer room of my grandfather's home after he died. We extracted it and had it opened. What we found wasn't riches, but a damning testimony to the sort of person he was... Not good... Be advised; most safes contain little more than awful results.

Clearly, the content of a safe is not surprising. Money, gold, ..etc. You don't expect to get a human head or CIA classified documents..

🌞CBS Sunday Morning🌞: A question for you.... So at first I thought I was experiencing the _Mandela Effect_ but in fact, I am not!🧐
*_Why are 75% of your RUclips videos published this morning, “RERUNS”???_*
(Although this video being a good piece👍, this is one of those “reruns” published not that long ago.👎)

Safes are made by man, and can opened by a man, woman etc. They are mechanical puzzles that are solvable. Signed, a civil engineering tech.

Very insightful. Growing up I assumed safes were made by extraterrestrials and were impenetrable. Thank you civil engineering tech
