Not necessarily a VS Code extension but I have been using Harlequin a SQL IDE in your terminal. Works out of the box with SQLite and DuckDB. You can also query files in S3 or local directory. Works great with VS Code terminal as well (or any terminal for that matter)
Finding this extension even easier than firing up table plus for when you just want to see if something got saved to the DB
