I prefer remote controls over speakers with apps. Some times my phone is in the other room or Im using it for a phone call or something else. As for the Kin Play, I own the black version with the Kin Subwoofer that is totally worth it and is amazing how music sounds.
I don’t notice the hiss from my Kin Play as much anymore. Maybe I’m just getting older, or I’ve arranged it some way, power straight into the wall, etc. I wouldn’t mind the sub, May have to give it a look.
