why the fuck would Arin actively look away from the video game where you have to be moving at all times? even if he glanced over Dan was still holding the controller kind of so it'd take a bit of time to actually notice that he's _only_ holding it, which is an amount of time you cannot spare with this kind of game.

Don Headsciotte i knew something was up after the first bomb was put down. The COM players do this thing where they stop on the edge of the square just outside of the blast animation.
I got suspicious because he would stop at the minimum safe distance from a bomb blast and also he knew exactly how big/long his bomb blast radius was every time.
when did he do the switch i cant see it
When he chooses his character for the last match, he mashes the Accept button causing it to only briefly display the player/COM selection with it defaulting to COM. He does this after all the other players have been configured. Strangely during gameplay it doesn't say who is/isn't a COM lol.

Not sure, and as GrumpyLittleBoo said, might have been on accident, but either way, deciding not to mention it and let the COM destroy Arin was a heck of a move on Dan's part xD
judging by the fact that Dan said he was initially surprised that he wasn't playing in the outro audio, i'm going to go out on a limb and say it wasn't intentional.

I *thought* Dan's movements in the last round were awfully suspicious. Mostly that he was doing the "Somehow I know exactly how many tiles any player's blast covers at any given moment regardless of how many upgrades it has had" that the AI does.

I doubt the AI went that deep for this game, but the initial programming of the AI could be seen as "training" it how to behave in the game
So maybe they're using only a hard-coded set of rules, and not using any kind of online "training algorithm"? That might be the case but, once a model is "trained", you could just use it as an static set of rules, so I guess that's the kind of detail only the game developers will know about :)
How to beat arin at bomberman:
1.)avoid arin and his bombs
2.)dont even worry about placing bombs
3.)laugh and point when he kills himself.

you guys should play "bomberman party edition' for PS1. it's the best bomberman. Every characters have a unique special ability. there are a lot of power up and types of bomb. the area is very unique too. The best part is that you can have mount (just like Yoshi) and each of them is special.
