It's poetic and strangely wholesome that Rick gained two daughters after his original got killed. Season 8 especially the finale really shows how much he loves the Beths.
He gained more than 2. You saw him say it to Birdperson. Portal travel made him disillusioned of reality. Every one of them is equally unreal, and also equally real. Every single Beth is HIS Beth as far as he's concerned.
@straypaperI think Rick C-132 just acts that way. Because of the trauma, prime Rick is the Rickest Rick, C-132 is the sympathetic one, who can't admit it
Our Rick lost his family if you remember. He's not like other Ricks. They are the ones that left their families. Our Rick, chose to be with his family. Well, some other Ricks chose to stay too...
@Awesome2844 choosing to be with his family doesn't automatically make him good, but the fact that hes always trying to be better shows he is on the path to being a good dad
Rick c-137 did not have a chance to become a dad after his wife and daughter died. He basically tag alone with a family abandoned by a alternative Rick, waiting for vengeance. He thought he would leave them soon after he killed Rick prime or to search for Rick prime so there was no need to form connections early on.
@Psycho3678despite himself, Rick ended up forming real bonds with these versions of his family. Hell, he even grows a soft spot for Jerry of all people.
We've achieved a level of Super Therapy. That's where we actually get to the root of the problem, fix it, but in a way that definitely paves the road for even more therapy.
Throughout the series, as much as he put his family in intergalactic, inter dimensional danger, he proved that he cares for em by saving em funnily enough.
That was one of the most amazing scenes EVER! Rick didn't play his daughter. Beth was in no condition to stay awake. Rick made the ultimate sacrifice at the end of the episode. Some people hated it, some people liked it. But I think it was heaviest episode of the series. Maybe after Diane's death...
@nas0518 This is where it gets weird, because if he's Rick C-137, the he has no Morty, and the Morty we know is not C-137, because Morty belongs to rick Prime. Now if a Rick is labeled by which universe they inhabit, given how often they universe hop, how would you keep them straight. At this point in the show, Rick, Morty, Jerry, and Beth and Summer (same universe) are a conglomeration of 4 different universes (as we saw when Rick fixed portal travel and we learned Rick Prime wasn't a made up origin story, but real).
@gamequbb8298The fact that this Rick chooses to show how deep down he really is cares for his family especially Beth makes him even more Rick than any other Rick
Rick is an OK dad not good he gave Beth her space (Which wasn't necessarily a good thing) but we saw with Froppyland he cared enough to make sure she was safe.
I kind of feel like Memory Rick here despite his intentions to reunite with Diane really put Beth and several versions of her through a lot of trauma, grief and existential dread that......that really should not have happened to her
Yeah, that's why Rick said near the end of the episode that the real Diane wouldn't have allowed Beth to go through all that mental anguish. She loved her much more than that....... Memory Rick and Memory Diane are not real people who have complex thoughts and feelings. They are just idealized memory creatures.
@NightEnigma8yeah i remember that part, its kinda why i feel bad for the rest of the family they only see the surface level of Memory Rick not the whole picture when they say they miss him or feel bad the "best version" of Rick is gone
I think that's the reason why Rick got rid of his memories of Diane. Because just the memory of her causes him to do horrible things just to have some connection to her and that holds him back in so many other aspects in his life. Huh, I'm remembering the Toxic episode where Rick's toxic traits were his emotional attachments to his loved ones.
@zacharybartolo5111you're right I remember that too. Makes you wonder how this has impacted Toxic Rick who I doubt we'll see again but between that episode and now Rick has changed to some degree so maybe something that was a semblance of good in Rick is coming back?
So i realized that the kid beth with goggles is the actual kid beth but the kid beths with masks on their faces are the beths that turned themselves into kids a few episodes back
It's kinda sad he had to let the prime family die and let several seasons take place to realize how much he truly cares for them. Don't you think as well?
guys i don't think this is the real rick , i think after defeated prime rick , our rick is lost interest and make a robot or a clone to live a happy life with his family while he drift off to somewhere nobody knows
She wasnt putting attentioj for her surroundings, and also that is a recen memory, when the kid Beth saw Rick putting Beth to slerp he already did in real life, they just can see a delayed versión of what is happening in the present
we still dont know how the real Diane is supposed to be like. the memory Diane is incomplete because hse was erased from every universe by the omega device. every other Diane apperance in the show was fabricated, because non of the memory of her supposed to exist anymore. if you pick a single instance of yourself from your memory, is that version of you "you"? if one time you become so angry and get into a brutal fight. if some random person witness that and have no other memory of you, that version of you in their eye would simply be a barbaric, violence person. but that version of you is not really you. so this memory Diane is not really Diane either
What? You *don't* think it's funny that all this happened because Rick wanted to preserve a good memory of himself that escaped from his best friend's brain?
At a guess, she felt the sting of being injected and her brain extrapolated the cause from there. That's actually something that the brain does often, you can test it out yourself with an analogue clock by flicking your eyes across the room, the second hand will appear to move backwards if you do it right.
@LXRTM roiland hasn't written for the show since season 2 so this would have happened regardless. and it's very hard to get voice actors even remotely close to the original.
Rick and Morty ¿Rick y el Sr.Nimbus son Amigos? Rick y Morty Aonlther Rick C - 131 (MORY) Episode 11 Season 9 'PRSDlENT CURTlS' , A NEW RICK AND MORY SPlN-OFF SERlES lS lN THE WORKS AT SWIM
Why is Rick constantly being blamed for prime Rick problems? He ain’t abandon Beth his Beth died, the Rick from there universe abandon her and Rick just doing what he can for this family.
Mostly because of the idea that there are infinite multiverses of Rick doing the same thing. This Beth, in particular, lived most of her life blaming Rick for abandoning her and - if the memories in Season 5 are to be believed - only met her Rick after he crash landed back into her life (unless it’s different for this Beth compared to Beth Prime). Even if it isn’t our Rick, it’s still a Rick that consistently makes up the majority of Ricks who abandon their daughters to chase after the Rick that killed their wife or just abandon her for whatever other reason. In fact, rewind back to S3-S4 real quick. Our Rick is directly responsible for intentionally causing a divorce, actively avoiding therapy, cloning Beth and tricking both of them into believing they’re not the clone and the other is, and deliberately making sure he has no idea which one is which to absolve himself of all responsibility. There’s a lot Rick did that ultimately makes it hard to distinguish between Rick the individual, and Rick the idea. Our Rick is just the one we see most of the time, dealing with it.
Because emotional beats logical, logically she knows that this version of her dad never left her but emotionally this can't undo the years of abandonment issues it causes on her, trauma like that gets etched into your very being. Logic sometimes isn't enough to undo it.
Am I brief opinion I think Rick was too traumatized after the death of his wife to even raise beth the right way as you see he's throwing himself in his work every chance he gets.
I hate Beth but not as much as Jerry but I hate any person character fact or fiction that whines about their parents and blames them for being a s***** person
It's poetic and strangely wholesome that Rick gained two daughters after his original got killed. Season 8 especially the finale really shows how much he loves the Beths.
Also the episode where the Beth's turn to kids. Lol she was a scary kid
@MichaeljSickStray-f9i yeah really explained why Rick created froopyland it probably was just easier to do that than manage her little rampages
He gained more than 2. You saw him say it to Birdperson. Portal travel made him disillusioned of reality. Every one of them is equally unreal, and also equally real. Every single Beth is HIS Beth as far as he's concerned.
@straypaperI think Rick C-132 just acts that way. Because of the trauma, prime Rick is the Rickest Rick, C-132 is the sympathetic one, who can't admit it
He always show he loves the beths
1:24 That scream Beth made when she drove the car off the cliff sounded just like the Gummy Bear from that one Robot Chicken episode.
That's a part of Sarah Chalke's killer performance.
It’s not her but vocals and pitch are uncanny as hell. The Gummy Bear actress is Michelle Trachtenberg
Oh my God I just remembered bro I know exactly what you're talking about LMAO
that scream vs Lois's scream would be legendary lol
Is the Gummy Bear scream the new Howie Yell? Or Wilhelm? Man that’s so neat to think about…
Nah he's not a good dad, but he's one that's constantly putting in the effort to be better.
That was well said!
Hit the nail right on the head
I’d say that’s a metric of a good dad
Our Rick lost his family if you remember. He's not like other Ricks. They are the ones that left their families. Our Rick, chose to be with his family.
Well, some other Ricks chose to stay too...
@Awesome2844 choosing to be with his family doesn't automatically make him good, but the fact that hes always trying to be better shows he is on the path to being a good dad

What changed?
@stephenbyrne2170 Morty prime happened
@Psycho3678despite himself, Rick ended up forming real bonds with these versions of his family. Hell, he even grows a soft spot for Jerry of all people.
Rick is a good dad.
_All things considered._
Not any better but definitely not NOT any worse
Rick's memories of Diane teaming up with bird persons memories of rick actually made for a pretty emotional episode.
We've achieved a level of Super Therapy. That's where we actually get to the root of the problem, fix it, but in a way that definitely paves the road for even more therapy.
Rick might not be a great dad, but he is really trying.
And the acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.
and honestly, the fact he is trying makes him a good dad in my book
He actually was the only great dad, but was forced to be the rickest rick (the rickless rick ironically)
Just like Stolas.
@andrewalker6050 Yeah..hopefully he and Via will work it out one day.
Throughout the series, as much as he put his family in intergalactic, inter dimensional danger, he proved that he cares for em by saving em funnily enough.
He got the Prime family killed. I don’t think there’s any coming back from that.
0:50 Despite the strange circumstances, it was nice to see Beth get this one moment with both of her parents
The scream is crazy 1:24
Yeah Sarah Chalke is really good at that.
It reminds me of the Gummy Bear from Robot Chicken.
Mila Kunis would be proud
@sabreejohnson1551Yo saaaame i was thinking the same
@sabreejohnson1551 FR
She's the only one he always calls sweetie. And he almost always have this loving tone with her.
2:34 as a daughter to my dad this made me cry
Rick 137 is better than most.
He's the Rickest Rick.
*Earth Rick C-137
@nas0518 This is where it gets weird, because if he's Rick C-137, the he has no Morty, and the Morty we know is not C-137, because Morty belongs to rick Prime. @gamequbb8298The fact that this Rick chooses to show how deep down he really is cares for his family especially Beth makes him even more Rick than any other Rick
@j-boy3312 rick 131and Rick prime are the most selfish ricks out there and how dare they abandoned their families.
The Fact Young Beth has her sentient Switchblade and Tazer shaped like a lady bug lol
Yeah she was not a normal child and I don't think Rick being absent was the main cause of her turning into Michael Myers who talks
Rick is an OK dad not good he gave Beth her space (Which wasn't necessarily a good thing) but we saw with Froppyland he cared enough to make sure she was safe.
Beth was a psychopath kid did you not see the episode when she became a kid
@QualityBuddy We also don't know if Beth losing her mom had anything to do with that.
@user-em6ie2be7x naw beth was pure evil 😂
@QualityBuddyto be fair most Beth's are usually abandoned as kids
I kind of feel like Memory Rick here despite his intentions to reunite with Diane really put Beth and several versions of her through a lot of trauma, grief and existential dread that......that really should not have happened to her
Yeah, that's why Rick said near the end of the episode that the real Diane wouldn't have allowed Beth to go through all that mental anguish. She loved her much more than that....... 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅child BETH knows her dad
That last line killed me
Sometimes, you just gotta do things for their own good. But hey, at least Rick is actually trying.
i wouldn't say he is a good dad but he's getting better tbh
past few seasons he's ALMOST not abusive to the family anymore
One of the best scenes in R&M 😭😭😭😭
So i realized that the kid beth with goggles is the actual kid beth but the kid beths with masks on their faces are the beths that turned themselves into kids a few episodes back
I read it as "Rick is a God Dad?". That is my impression of him.
It was a really good episode in my opinion.
And people still gives Rick a hard time
Mostly his past daughters
2:55
One of my favorite scenes in the whole show
1:26 I swear this sounds like the gummy bear scream from robot chicken
“I liked when Jerry was the EAster bunny”
Where’s the animation budget , William?
man this story telling of family crisis is so great😢😢😢
One of my favorite episodes. Cool retro 90s slasher/car chase music. I need that song for my ringtone 😅
It's kinda sad he had to let the prime family die and let several seasons take place to realize how much he truly cares for them. Don't you think as well?
guys i don't think this is the real rick , i think after defeated prime rick , our rick is lost interest and make a robot or a clone to live a happy life with his family while he drift off to somewhere nobody knows
he is really trying.
I need this soundtrack to jam out to NOW please deliver
He's a good dad passing on the portal until Rick prime killed his original family 😢
hes trying, at least hes trying.
The Season of Beth
I hope Beth and Rick's relationship improves in the future.
0:32
1:27 is that the gummy bear scream from robot chicken?
It may be
That scream makes me remember beth is still a main character not a background character anymore 1:25
When Beth scream she sound like the gummy bear from robot chicken
Anyone else remember this scream from the gummy bear sketch from Robot Chicken?
I think itd be a cool plot development if space beth actually died here. Would have had some canonicity.
2:56 how can a memory beth see what beth doesnt see if they just exist in her head?
She wasnt putting attentioj for her surroundings, and also that is a recen memory, when the kid Beth saw Rick putting Beth to slerp he already did in real life, they just can see a delayed versión of what is happening in the present
With a drink but without a doubt
Love supporting small creators
Wrong creator lol
@feelgoodink5005right wth they talking about😂
@feelgoodink5005I posted this when the vid had 3 likes and 0 comments I was making a joke
@MaydaysystemI assumed lol thought it was funny
@Maydaysystem based
When the second season of blue lock?
🩷Love the remake of the song at the end for rick wife, makes me think about my other 😊
Why do people hate this season, I think it’s great.
Rick should leave home.
Q episodio é esse?
Three minutes and twenty one seconds just to say "no"
I can imagine it will be removed with a federal rule
If space Beth and Beth are the same wouldn’t space Beth be fighting Rick too
which season is this????????
Huzzah
No he’s not
But he’s really trying his best
He is not a good dad, but he is better than the rest
MAKE MORE VENTURE BROS MOVIES
WOW
He’s not the perfect father or Grandfather. There’s just something I see in Rick that I see in many people
Young Beth is cute
no he is not... a broken clock is right twice a day
Beth stop doing this to yourself
No.. but who is?
we still dont know how the real Diane is supposed to be like. the memory Diane is incomplete because hse was erased from every universe by the omega device. every other Diane apperance in the show was fabricated, because non of the memory of her supposed to exist anymore.
if you pick a single instance of yourself from your memory, is that version of you "you"? if one time you become so angry and get into a brutal fight. if some random person witness that and have no other memory of you, that version of you in their eye would simply be a barbaric, violence person. but that version of you is not really you. so this memory Diane is not really Diane either
He literally said he was a bad dad so…
When will it be on Hulu?
It's on HBO Max and Hulu now
under 12 minutes
The only thing vaguely Rick and Morty about this are the characters....
Where's the humor this was deep great episode
What? You *don't* think it's funny that all this happened because Rick wanted to preserve a good memory of himself that escaped from his best friend's brain?
How do the memorys see that he was going to drug beth- They see her memories, Beth wouldn't have seen rick go to drug her
At a guess, she felt the sting of being injected and her brain extrapolated the cause from there.
That's actually something that the brain does often, you can test it out yourself with an analogue clock by flicking your eyes across the room, the second hand will appear to move backwards if you do it right.
What’s wrong with domestic mom?
👍👍
I can't belive that people still watch the show after Justin left
Well why not, its a good show
@sfg5620Writing quality has dropped drastically and the new voice actors can't capture his unique style and quirks
@LXRTM roiland hasn't written for the show since season 2 so this would have happened regardless. and it's very hard to get voice actors even remotely close to the original.
Is he a goo-? My brother in Sci-fi. The Emperor from w40k is a better dad.
Wait couldn't rick go back in time before Diane death and copy her memories or.did prime rick mwss that up as well
He doesnt like time travel.
@maniacgreen8609its his wife Diane his true love
🥹😭😭

Might be a good dad not a good show
Justin Roiland did nothing wrong.
Am I brief opinion I think Rick was too traumatized after the death of his wife to even raise beth the right way as you see he's throwing himself in his work every chance he gets.
God how many 'Beth uses her abandonment issues to absolve herself of her own shittiness' episodes are they gonna make?
0:03 im never pausing again, beth look like pepe the frog
Trash
This would have hit much harder if space beth stayed dead.
This season was ok. It wasn’t amazing.
Agreed. I only really liked Hot Rick and Nomortland. The rest of the season was mostly boring.
I hate Beth but not as much as Jerry but I hate any person character fact or fiction that whines about their parents and blames them for being a s***** person

@feelgoodink5005 Technically, it's a show.
That's your opinion.😒
season 8 sucks balllllllsssssssssssss
I skipped a whole season
